  • It has a clutched 5.7 amp motor, a simple forward and reverse system with grease zerked fittings, a poly drum and well built mobile and stable stand. It will handle pipe between 3-10 inches (ours is set for 3-6 inches) and the heads are easy to change: we like it. www.seattletoolrental.com created this video.

    Had this same machine when I had my business. It cost quite a bit more than other brands but I would buy another in a heartbeat. Best machine on the market.

    I have a K-7500 with a 3/4" 100' inner core cable, and never damaged any PVC or clay pipe. I know this cause I use my 350' seesnake and visually inspect the line before adding a 4" cutter to ream the sewer line of roots. Never seen damage from my machine being to aggressive, and I've been cleaning lines for 5 years. Good information other wise though.

      Thanks Thaddeus: it has been an interesting mix of fun and learning curve. Got the equipment bug for sure. Perhaps Festools are in the future ... can't wait.

    I have removed my previous comment and do apologize for it. I was bitter but not at you at Ridgid. Trying to start a Plumbing Company on a tight budget is very stressful. Before I viewed your video I had the pleasure of watching a youtuber that Ridgid themselves reached out to with over $1500 in free tools. After spending over $10,000 myself for a Ridgid C6 Camera, Scout Locator, Brick Line Transmitter, K50 machine and a few other expensive but needed tools it felt like salt in a wound. I did get a large sewer machine but not from Ridgid it came from General Pipe Cleaners and is a RodRunner sectional machine. It was much cheaper and I think better made machine than Ridgid offers. They do have one similar bur for about $1000 more. I like Ridgid and most Plumbers do but Ridgid doesn't pass that loyalty back to the American Workers and I can guarantee this youtubers are not going to keep Ridgid in business. Be careful with that machine some Plumbers swear by them some hate them but they are dangerous if in a bind. I heard of a Plumber that got both arms broken when his kicked back because it binded. Good luck and enjoy your machine.

      Bent Water it's all good. I hear you. The scout system is incredible and it's an ouch to buy it. Congrats. Thanks for the warning on the bind. The reality is most real power tools are fing dangerous. Cool on comparable
      machine, curious if it has the step roller on back? Anyway, takes a lot to know your wrong and I'd be glad to know you as it's uncommon. This machine is going up for sale used. Only 200 hours on it. What do you think I should put it up on Craigslist for?

      Robert Rhodes My RodRunner from General does have a wheel in back for balance and operation but wouldn't be much fun going upstairs with it. It is a beast and with it's 11/4" sectional cable if it can't unstop it nothing else can. The Plumbing Company I worked for the last 15 years uses them on sewers and K50s on smaller drains. Not sure on what to ask for your machine because I've always had the luck of buying high and selling cheap. I do know there are a lot of crooks out there so be careful who you sell to and how they pay you for it but good luck.

    Anyway to save it if it's tangled up , I've never worked with it ,is it under a lot of tension ? It's goes out like 25 ft and it's messed up in the housing, can we fix that?

    Well done and TY Robert! I've just upgraded to the K-750. The thing is a beast! Gets it done fast and well. Well, after lugging it in. LoL
    I have yet to run into serious roots with it yet. How'd it do for you?

    • @robertrhodes20

      I have had this thing cut though everything as long as I kept pulling it back and clearing the material compulsively ... I think the only limit is if it gets off course and somehow you accidentally plow a hole through the pipe instead ... lol ... but that's always a risk. Slow and steady wins the race. Outside that, its just lugging it around that's a pain and thankfully they put the stair climbing unit on this thing ... and I dump a lot of WD40 on it to keep the rust down...

      @@robertrhodes20 Cool, thanks again!
      for cable maint., I use waste oil from car oil changes. The additives also help neutralize acids from drain openers/cleaners. WD actually will de-lube it. Waste oil is free, inhibits rust, lubes and saves acid from eating the cable. Just my 2 cents. Whatever works for ya!

    Great video, I have been looking to getting one. Currently I use a ridgid k-60 for my larger jobs. What cutter heads are safe in plastic?

    • @robertrhodes20
      @robertrhodes20  7 лет назад

      I do not have the experience to answer that but common sense says no cutter head is safe around plastics ...

    This is a great video. I live in an apartment in which 4 apartments share one drain. My drain backs up every 3-6 months. They always send a guy, who snakes it with a cable with a little black coil thing on the end. It clears the drain... TEMPORARILY. This has been ongoing for years and years. It's an old building so I imagine it's 3 inch pipes. Frankly, I'm tired of the mess.
    My question to you is, does using this machine stop this from occuring as frequently (or stop it all together)? And is this machine something you can request of drain cleaners, or do they need to own one?
    Thanks much!

    • @robertrhodes20
      @robertrhodes20  8 лет назад

      +FireCracker3240 This machine is just a heavy duty easy to use version of what I think your plumber is using. The coil on the end is pulling either hair or root out of your drain pipe. Drain cleaners should own one or something similar....

      Robert Rhodes Ok, great. Thanks for the response!

    • @robertrhodes20
      @robertrhodes20  8 лет назад

      Sure. They can use a variety of heads to clear the pipes, depending on what they are made of ....
