At 21500 levels, what an opportune and relevant time to post this reel. Frankly, this one video can help lakhs of hapless retail investors make intelligent returns and contain losses: if they cut out the noise around. Shankar ji you're a dashing Hero! Thanks and All the Best. 😌🔆
Hi @shankarnath Good to see you back & a very relevant video. If you don't mind me asking, what is your take on SIPs on MFs these days. I know the basic principle of SIPs itself is to invest during all the highs & the lows still asking would you continue your SIPs even now? And should we redeem partial amounts from Small & midcap mutual funds?
Great video Shankar sir. One suggestion - you could have added one more strategy which relates to one's financial goals. Eg. If your goals are in the near future, then it might be a good time to book your profits at ATH markets.
Thank you, great to be back. That's quite a long period of time. I use target maturity funds; please consult a financial advisor for more updated research
Very Simple and easy to Understand….Thanks Shankar… Just request to make Video on investment strategy For Short term investors 1-2 years, mid term investors 4-6 years and long term investors >10 years.. It will be very useful to new and young investors
Very informative Shankar 👏 Quick question coming to rebalancing, if one were to look at debt funds for shifting gains from equity over time and considering debt funds are taxed at salary slab; does this mean that retirees are not taxed on selling debt fund units? And if they are, then what is the tax percentage?
Good information. However, the rebalancing of portfolio is less complicated in case of equity MFs. What if the portfolio is having stocks and a very few of the stocks (Titan like) have grown up significantly.
@@shankarnath sir i know you are a busy person ... But i have a request that can you make a video of factors to be considered while selling in the context of swing trading..Again ThankYou sir for sharing your knowledge with us🥰
Good to see you fully recovered. Was waiting to see you in your next video. Can you please make video on large caps to consider keeping the view that rally in undervalued good Nifty 50 stocks is due with looming rate cuts and FII flows. Thanks and stay safe and healthy
Rebalancing approach looks more promising to me as - 1• Ensures profit booking 2• Ensures asset allocation is maintained 3• Better Risk adjusted returns
Fantastic video. Finally someone who's talking about profit booking. It's an art to book your profits and also reap the benefits of your investments to some extent. Thank you, one of the best videos I have seen in this plethora of crazy self certified Finfluencers. 😅
Thank you! I'm glad you like my work. There are many finance content creators that're doing an excellent job. Much like how we go through multiple choices to find things that're right for us (like finding a good match, a good dress, a good job etc.) similarly it takes time to sift through a sea of creators to pick the ones whose topics, format and content resonates with us. Ofcourse it doesn't mean others should be vilified for this.
All time high markets may not necessarily mean all individual stocks are at their life time high valuations. In fact in any market cycle one may find great companies at cheap valuations. Re-balancing is detrimental to portfolio returns if done blindly.
I have a significant portion of my portfolio in mutual funds, about 75 percentage of my total savings. I plan to use the money for my retirement needs which is 20 years away. Half of my funds is in midcap index funds and small cap index funds. The other half is invested in nifty 50 index fund. Should I do any kind of relocation in these market conditions? Or should i just hold long term ?
Crisp nice video with good illustrations/ examples. The Appolo Tyres price in the example mentioned was Rs 115 ( it should have been Rs 415). Sorry, dont mean this in a rude arrogant way to correct the Guru :)
@@shankarnath thanks for the response. Preference for live would be the in-person format for interaction. For the online version, a recorded one may help to go to greater depths as you mentioned.

Thanks for the suggestion. Anything in particular you want me to cover there? Covering the data will not be practical as it is readily available on an updated basis on a website like valueresearchonline.com or advisorkhoj.com
@@shankarnath Yes it is readily available thanks for sharing. Actually what I meant was from an SWP perspective how can we allot funds with debt/equity MFs SWP for greater certainty of returns in the short term from Debt/ liquid funds and in equity for a higher holding period. The main purpose is to maximize returns and protection from short term market volatility.. by mix and match of different asset classes..
@@agantuk1off I do this often. Lumpsum monies go into a short duration debt funds (money market or ultra short duration) and the SWP happens into an equity fund of my choice. I don't look for "best returns" in such situations because eventually the money is getting deployed into an equity fund.
