6 reasons for selling a stock 1. Financial urgency like medical emergency 2. Purpose is achieved. E.g. Invested for children's higher education 15 years ago. Now at the age of 18 money is required for children's higher education. 3. Business moat is gone like IEX due to coupling issue. 4. U purchased stock because of good management..Now management is changed & is not so competent 5. U invested in a company when it was young. Now company has become very matured and there is less.growth opportunity. 6. Holding a loss making for a long time also destroys wealth. We should exit such company and invest the balancing amount in other growth company.

I think what is building (bloating) the market right now, is the anticipated eventual lowering of interest rates. When fed starts cutting rates, and when we can no longer find safe harbor in 5%+ rates, investors are going to rush back into the stock market. Some of this is likely that already being built into the market
The uncertainties accompanying this present market is more reasons I have my daily investment decisions guided by a portfolio-coach seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time, both employing profit-oriented strategy and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downtrends, coupled with the exclusive analysis, it's quite impossible not to outperform. Thanks Sahil, i am in profit about 40% 50% in some stocks and losses about 30% 25% in some, from 2 years and i am confused whether should i sold it or not. Now i am clear what to do with them.
All the stocks i bought on your advice are doing well for me... Holding for long term... One mistake i did was selling polycab around 2500... And like you said entering now seems difficult
Good lesson learnt for when to buy and sell the shares for long term perspective.Much appreciated for your efforts and sharing this video, Thank you so much Sahil for your analysis 👏👏🤝🤝
Another Excellent video for longterm investors. Sahil has very nicely explained the exit strategy for longterm investors in various situations balancing the greed and fear . Here investors also need to keep in mind the cyclical behavior of sectors where investors should exit completely from the sector/stock in upmove in staggered way. For example packaging / paper/metal stocks in 2022 and now in 2023 -24 pipes ( oil and water) / infra etc . Such sectors one can re-enter after deep correction to prepare for the next cycle. upmove.
I always enjoy watching your videos as you share genuine knowledge and experiences with the investors. I bought number of shares post watching your videos, because of trust factor, company business, its fundamentals and future growth prospect. Every experienced investor has their strategy and you covered almost all of them. Through this video you made us informed investor. Thanks a lot Sahil. Keep up the good quality work👌
I have adopted the strategy of selling 50% of the shares when the stock becomes 3x and leave the rest to grow. I invest the payout received in any of the large caps to receive steady appreciation.
My investments in Galaxy Chemicals and Balaji Amines are down by an avg. of 18% from the purchase prices. I have not sold the Shares. On the other hand I intend to add on SIP basis whenever lower support levels are reached. Thanks for your video.
I really love the way you speak on any specific stock or on strategic views for long term investors. You are an excellent teacher. Thanks a lot. By the way, I am also an investor and I wonder if I can get your advice on my portfolio. Please suggest how do I reach you. Thanks again.
It is coorect, i m also feeling that one should book profit at this point of time. & wait and watch to renter bcoz sensex may go upto 70000 till december2023 or before that 😊
I invested in Orient electric at 350 now I am in loss of 19 percentage. And my current average price is 288 with 235 stock. Can I accumulate more?. Any changes in fundamental of this stock?pls provide your view sahil..
I invested in Newgen it fell but I kept on averaging slowly slowly. Now I'm in more than 50% profit. Same in ICIGI, Bajaj finance & Cams. Still in loss in Aarti ind, Dmart, Divis labs, IEX, IPL, Alkyl amines, Rossari biotech & Vaibhav global. Thinking of selling IEX, IPL & vaibhav global.
Very true, people downplay advisors role, until burnt by their mistakes. I remember just after my layoff early 2020 amidst covid outbreak, I needed to stay afloat, hence researched for license advisors. Thankfully, I came across someone of practical knowledge, and decades of experience, my stagnant reserve of $225K has yielded nearly $1m after subsequent investments so far
As long as EPS CAGR beating the PE CAGR...stay invested...all matters is Earnings...Earnings and PE will re-rate. PE for me is perceptions to earning..😊

Hi,
Does the LTCG not come into play, when deciding upon time to sell?
Now, where can we find the fundamentals of a stock and internal causes for us to decide on exist.
