memories yeah...dad had one of these...he called it a good runner... i had my license, an got to drive it sometimes for about 6 months as the son of the owner...this was dads business car...one night on the way home driving on a rural 4 lane road a deer jumped and planted itself onto the right front fender...dad did not get a scratch...but the now dead deer turned the hood into an accordian, cracked windshield, broke both lights, and front trim...broke battery, radiator, and grill, alternator tore off its mount...and air cleaner was crushed by the hood damages...and twisted the frame... from how it landed off the road in the side ditch. car was" totaled" by insurance co. sad end for a vehicle the whole family really liked...fun to drive big and powerful too. every time i see one of these antiques...i wish we still had ours.
My dad had a '68 Chevy Impala when he was seconded to New Jersey from UK. 2 door. It was fantastic. I drove it quite a bit as an 18 year old and felt like a king!
@@bradzimmerman3171 no. not...really. I redid the motor stock to the bone no leaks. Place about 2G in the rebuild, it drives great and sound like a beast.
I had one of these. It was pale green and had a six banger in it. I bought it for $50 bucks, drove it for about a year, and sold it for $50. It was a good car. Could start in 0 F Calgary winters and never broke down in the time I had it.
My Momma had one; it was an Impala sport sedan. Greenish blue 327 CI rwo speed automatic. When she took me to buy a car it was to a Pontiac dealership & showed me a 1965 Pontiac Catalina Vertura two. At least a 389 on it and a large two Barrel Carb. Best car I ever had! AS I left the dealer driving it I pressed the gas like Momma's car and the tires screeched! What power. I miss the 60's & 70's. [ That was a beautiful car.....thanks for sharing.=) ]
One of the best video stories in this series. Christian bought an ordinary Chevrolet Impala sedan from that special time period (the late 1960s) and is bringing it back to its former glory. He is following in his dad's footsteps by buying an Impala, and it's a beautiful example. I appreciated his modest tone in relating his plans for the car. Fortunately, the body and paint appear to be in excellent condition, so it won't take six or eight years. Kudos to him for buying a "foreign" car that originally came from the State of Florida, and working long-distance to get parts to make this happen in Europe. There were a few bumps and hiccups initially, but he seems to be well on his way to making it happen. He's taking his time and will complete the rest of the repairs over the next couple of years. Congratulations, Christian, for being selected, and best of luck with the rest of the build. On a side note, this car is now 52 years old, not 43 years.
I owned a 68 four door hardtop. I paid $625 for it and drove it for over ten years. I always considered that my first car. I absolutely loved that car. This video brings back memories.
A 67 Impala that is right hand drive , now that's rare ! What was so nice about those cars is that there was very little plastic on them from the inside and out. They were also easy to repair , great for DIY people.
I'd love to have a 67 four door Impala. That's one of my dream cars. Drop in a 5.3, Tremec Magnum and fully independent rear suspension and have a nice vintage daily.
My parents had this car when I was a kid. The color was gold/brown. In 1970 remember going to Niagara Falls and Canada for vacation. That car ran so smooth suspension wise as well as engine wise. Since then I have never been in a car that ran so smooth on the highway as this car. The room in the car specifically the back seat was huge and allowed me and my sister to have legendary fights while listening to The Carpenters on the radio
The only things keeping that car from being a perfect backup car for the set of Supernatural is the decal plates. Other than that,it look perfect in an episode with Dean and Sam Winchester.
My dad had a '67 convertible. 325 HP 327! HD 3 speed on the tree. Built at lordstown with he worked. Had it ran thru the paint booth 3 times! Black with taxi cab red interior. What a car!
Bro I used to own this same model/year! I will tell you, never had so much fun with a car! jumping train tracks, being chased ( I wont give more details), cruising on strips, and sleeping in the back seat. man I loved my baby! so proud and happy to of owned this year of car!!!
I have a 1967 Chevrolet Caprice 4dr hardtop sedan with a 350 cubic inch crate motor that I had installed back in 2001. I love it! It's kinda like sittin' in your living room couch while driving at 65 to 75 mph on the highway. NO COMPUTERS, and no plastic crap on the engine. Hauls butt too! Very reliable transportation! Wouldn't part with it!
My father had 68, blue in color. It had a 327 2bbl and 3 speed automatic. It was a grocery getter and could not compare to the 68 Nova for coolness. I had a 64 Impala 327 2bbl. It was much more sought after. The 65 SS 396 4 speed, heavy but fast, Impala was what I really wanted, but my cousin's mom had it. When we got it, it was race time for anything we could find on the streets of Las Vegas way back in 1968.☕😎
I love the 67 impala. I have one, convertible with factory a/c. Original drivetrain. I fell in love with them when I was 16 and saw one for sale on the side of the road. I bought it and sold it like a dumb teen does. About 5 years ago I found the one I have now and will never get rid of it.
@Jeff Oliver The '67 Impala 2-dr hardtop is a very unique and classic design, but not a lot of them around. This 4-dr looks nice too. The '58 Impala 2-dr hardtop is my favorite and I owned 3 of them at one time. I also had a 1961 Impala SS, but with the high performance 348. Only 625 '61 SS cars were made and they are very rare (half of the ones seen today are counterfeits, or "tribute cars"). The "Bubble Top" '61 Impala hardtop was a one-year only car, but the same bubble top was used for the '62 BelAir 2-dr hardtop which was popular for drag racing. 1958-1964 Impalas ruled the world, and still do 50+ years later!
Ahhhh. My European brother enjoying the greatness of fine American muscle! 😁 These cars were truly a specialty. Very common in Sweden too to see many muscle cars! Not a fan of Chevrolet products, but this is a great car! Awesome video Scotty!
That’s the best car ever featured on your channel Scotty I love them. The tv series supernatural made this car famous again. I bet they cost a fortune because of that. Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺
@@mistermusic140 I know it's more farely priced in the US, but how much is it? Some work colleges have to refuel every week because they live so far from work. They don't even drive thirsty cars...
Scotty I think you need to collaborate with this Impala guy from Europe and some day get him to voice over your talking in one of your episodes. LMFAO. like I always say. On your channel Scotty, there is never a dull moment.
Had a 67 Caprice 2 dr with a 396 and turbo 400. Absolutely loved that car. Drove it from Scranton to Miami and it was an absolutely terrific traveling companion, and with the spread-bore carb and a few degrees of timing, highway mileage was not bad at all for its time.
To the new Impala owner - a big grats for it's a beauty! Will provide a footnote. Those year(s) Impala's were infamous for rust in the rear wheel wells & quarter panels. If your turning your attention to the undercarriage do yourself a favor make sure to give areas extra anti-rust proofing & possible drill drain holes (in not outwardly visible locations..) where water may collect. PS - Think water tends to get in (due to poor sealing) around the cavernous trunk. Best wishes..!
Yeah i have seen a few areas that could prove to be a real rust trap! But so far the car is rust free "except a few parts with surface rust" And thanx for recommending drilling drain holes! I'll make sure to do so when I freshen up the cars underside this winter! Regards Logan
Love the video Scotty. My Father had a 1967 Impala SS and a 1966 Olds Delta with a Rocket 425 . From what i remember they were both fast. Thanks again for the video!
@michael lee I use to know what the H.P and Torque was on both. Its been so many years that I've forgotten. However you're probably right and yes the Delta was a boat!
Had a 65 Belair which was basically the same as the 65 impala only it had four tail lights rather than six like the impala. Then they had a 283 small eight, but great engine, no problems with it a all.
My mom had a 65 model. White with blue interior. I used the back window shelf as a play area for my matchbox cars when would would have long drives. (No car seat, how am I still alive? Haha) I loved watching the plumes of smoke billowing from the tailpipe and seeing the annoyed look on people's faces behind us as they quickly rolled up their windows. (We didn't have the car very long...)
I learned to drive in a car like this. 67 Impala with a 283 cid engine. Power steering, airconditioning, power glide transmission. Had standard brakes.
had this exact car many years ago with a 283 and a glide . ran it on a rural mail route ( torture ) for six years and yes it was one of the best cars I ever owned . later used it just as a snow car . became very rusty . sold it to a kid who put the engine & trans in a S-10
It's easy in Germany. An old car is treated as if you had the time in which it was made. You can get an H approval if the car is older than 30 years, this saves tax.
In the UK you can import and run pretty much anything as long as it meets basic legal requirements. There are some EU regulations, but no one gives a crap about those here, most places wont even check that stuff.
Man did that ever bring back memories. I remember cold evenings down dirt roads, standing around bonfires, and all those cars parked with their trunks open so we could hear the stereos out of the rear speakers. That was the 70s, but most of our cars were used from the 60s. By the 80s, I had my own 75 Impala. One of the dumbest things I ever did (among many) was trade it in for an S10.
Nice 4 door Chevy! Purist go for the 2 door. In Europe 4 door or any,Chevy is cool! Friends of mind had those for first cars or passed down from parents. Love the sound!
@@sammolloy8129 Had a friend who was older then, mid-thirties with wife and one child . He was a Corperate 8 to 5 guy. I believe it was a 72 Buick Electra beautiful long vehicle. It had super comfortable seats. A windshield you could see out of East to west and a awesome paint . Appeared to be half a football field long. Ha! Buick were cooler then Chevys in that model range. The Riv. and the Toranado-too.
I really miss my '75 Impala! That car never let me down. It even got me through some of the biggest snow storms when other people got stuck! Had it for 24 years. I want it back!! 😢😢
Thanks for the memories! My Daddy brought home a brand new 1965 Impala Super Sport when I was 4 years old. What a beautiful, fun car that was. The only thing I didn't like was the bucket seats, because Mama got very good at reaching behind and pinching the living daylights out of my brother and me when we misbehaved. We often misbehaved! My brother wrote and recorded a very funny song about that car, mentioning Daddy's funny seat cushion and Mama's "fingers of precision, coming for the children, uh-huh!" Now that song will be stuck in my head all day!
a friend had a 1969 2dr Caprice with a 427 years ago but sold it without telling me. He had kept it in mint condition, no rust and everything that went wrong he had repaired . Looks like the Supernatural car on that series
Nice video! I myself have a ‘67 Impala convertible. Nothing special... Bolero Red, 283/Powerglide with AM radio. 130,000 miles. But it’s special to me. I’m the second owner. A friend of my father’s bought it new in 1967, so I was more than familiar with the car growing up. It came with the original warranty card, protect-o-plate and years of maintenance records. He passed away in 2010, it sat in storage until his wife decided to sell it to me on the condition I show it to her when I got it running again. I got it going after a few weeks and sent it for some minor bodywork repair rust in the quarter panels and the floor pan, drove back to her house and took her for a spin. She was in tears after the drive and said she was glad I brought it back (for the most part) to its former glory. Needs a few odds and ends, but a solid driver until I have the time and the means to finish the job.
Had a Biscayne same exact body but ultra plain cheaper, didn't even offer optional radio so no cutout in the dash, when new. Had a '69 Chevelle 454 talk about raw power and torque.
I also later owned a Chevy Chevelle SS 1973 MODEL and a 1980 El Camino and a 1971 Olsmobile I think another Coupe like my Big Impala (Huge engine). I had a few other muscle cars as I was a frisky girl who loved them. But the car I drove about 450,000 miles having bought it pre-owned is still THE WINNER with me. It was a 1980 Datsun 200 SX Coupe. 5 Speed. Nice Gauges I learned to trust. A mechanic bought it from me STILL RUNNING REALLY WELL.
One of my Dad’s rides when I was little was a ‘67 Chevy Impala 2dr with the 283 plant and the 350 transmission. Got rid of it for $50 in 1975 because the motor smoked like a tar kettle, rusty everywhere and bent tie rod was more than he wanted to deal with. I think it had only 80K miles on it which back then had reached its expiration date. When I saw it go down the street leaving a plume of blue smoke in its wake for the last time it was like saying goodbye to a family member, but to dad it was being rid of a headache and being $50 richer
My buddy and I rebuilt a 1970 Chevrolet chevelle had the 454 we bought it for three grand, at that time it was just the body, frame, and engine no transmission or interior, I kept it for about a year then he had it four months and we sold it. That was the best car I've ever owned, so much power.
In the 1970s my dad bought 3 year old Impala convertibles and drove them until they got too rusty in upstate New York. I bought a 1969 Chevy Impala hardtop 4 door with a 328 cubic inch V8 in 1975 for $200 with lots of rust and 60,000 miles, when I was 16. It had a 2 speed automatic transmission and got up to 12 miles per gallon on the highway. I drove it 5 years and the main work it needed was a valve job. The guy I sold it to drove it several more years, until the doors got too rusty to open and close well.
I briefly owned a 1967 Chevrolet Belair 4 door sedan with the original 283 motor in 1974. I drove it 13,000 miles in the three months I owned it, driving it all around the country. It was one of the best cars I ever owned! Though it did have a bad PS leak and not too bad engine oil leak. I sold it before I shipped out overseas in the Army.

a deer jumped and planted itself onto the right front fender...dad did not get a scratch...but the now dead deer turned the hood into an accordian, cracked windshield, broke both lights, and front trim...broke battery, radiator, and grill, alternator tore off its mount...and air cleaner was crushed by the hood damages...and twisted the frame... from how it landed off the road in the side ditch. car was" totaled" by insurance co. sad end for a vehicle the whole family really liked...fun to drive big and powerful too. every time i see one of these antiques...i wish we still had ours.
I had a '67 Biscayne.......a kinda stripped down Impala......loved it......6cyl. and 3 speed on the column.......
This was my grandfather’s favourite car, it is truly beautiful
That Impala does sound sweet. It's also one of the best designed Impala as well.
Not the original engine that's why
My dad had a '68 Chevy Impala when he was seconded to New Jersey from UK. 2 door. It was fantastic. I drove it quite a bit as an 18 year old and felt like a king!
Someone is a fan of supernatural
😏😆👍🏼👍🏼😎
Ah yes the simple days followed by smallville
Deep down everyone is a fan of Supernatural
Honestly was a fan of the 67 Impala before Supernatural but now I'm a fan of both.
My grandmother had that car. I can still remember and hear the sound of that car when she would drive up to the house.👍🏻👍🏻
I got a Chevy 66 caprice 327 stock power disks brakes all around, daily driver and I love it
Do you mean that you put rear disc brakes on it ? They didn't come stock with rear discs that I've seen.
@@TheLionAndTheLamb777 yes sir I did the Conversion to disk brakes.
@Randy Jackson they are sure Comfortable seats especially with the Car suspension you hardly feel a thing.
Oh yeah the 327 ( an oil leaking ring dropper ) got to love ? it
@@bradzimmerman3171 no. not...really.

Passed my driving test in one
My Momma had one; it was an Impala sport sedan. Greenish blue 327 CI rwo speed automatic. When she took me to buy a car it was to a Pontiac dealership & showed me a 1965 Pontiac Catalina Vertura two. At least a 389 on it and a large two Barrel Carb. Best car I ever had! AS I left the dealer driving it I pressed the gas like Momma's car and the tires screeched! What power. I miss the 60's & 70's. [ That was a beautiful car.....thanks for sharing.=) ]
My momma’s uncle bought a new one in the early 70’s it lasted 20 years no major repairs.
I agree, great sound, it is a symphony!
It doesn’t have right-hand drive.
I'd love to have a 67 four door Impala. That's one of my dream cars. Drop in a 5.3, Tremec Magnum and fully independent rear suspension and have a nice vintage daily.
They actually go pretty cheap for the ones that weren't taken care of, I found an old rusty 66 for only 8 grand and I'm really considering buying it
SUPERNATURAL OHH HELL YEAH
What a car!
Sam & Dean would approve. *:D*

I learned to drive in a 66 impala 4 door even took the test in it in 2006. I will never forget that car and I hope to have one again.

As a kid I remember me Dad always having Impalas... he must have had at least 4 or 5
Hi Dad 😁
We fit like 8 people in it going to high school parties.
My first car was a 1965 Impala, Seafoam Green convertible with white top and interior. That thing was gorgeous.
Dean from “Supernatural” would be proud!
He sounds like George Takei.
Haha! I was going to post the same until I saw your comment.
"Ohhh, My!!!"
Haha HEY NOW!!!!! HS
I posted that also, before I saw this 😅👍
Beam me up, Scotty!!!
When we got it, it was race time for anything we could find on the streets of Las Vegas way back in 1968.☕😎
The best Chevy ever made:
*The Toyota Celica*
You mean the 1988 Chevrolet Nova
You mean the Chevy prisim its jist a Toyota Corolla with allot of GM body parts.
My wife drove a Geo Prism. It was a really good car (no sarcasm). Came off the same NUMMI assembly line in Northern California as the Toyota Corolla.
Move to Japan ?
I love the 67 impala. I have one, convertible with factory a/c. Original drivetrain. I fell in love with them when I was 16 and saw one for sale on the side of the road. I bought it and sold it like a dumb teen does. About 5 years ago I found the one I have now and will never get rid of it.
*supernatural with Sam and Dean Winchester* 😎👍 Looks like the same car from the series😎👍 awsome man. This is my dream car.

At the price of gas in Europe, this must cost a crap-ton of euros to fill. 🥴
Not only the gas but the insurance too 🤑
Very true, looked into it and it’s about $6/gal when converted
Sweden, so it's Krones :)

But so far the car is rust free "except a few parts with surface rust"
And thanx for recommending drilling drain holes! I'll make sure to do so when I freshen up the cars underside this winter!
Regards Logan
After the first time running outa gas, I'd have carried a jerry can.
My '61 Buick only got 8 mpg and had a 10 gallon tank, so a full gas can or Jerry jug is a good idea.
So you say.
@michael lee You're right ! Lol
1967 Chevy is a very good choice. Personally, I prefer the 1965 Chevy because of the round tail lights.
Had a 65 Belair which was basically the same as the 65 impala only it had four tail lights rather than six like the impala. Then they had a 283 small eight, but great engine, no problems with it a all.
65 then 61
My mom had a 65 model. White with blue interior. I used the back window shelf as a play area for my matchbox cars when would would have long drives. (No car seat, how am I still alive? Haha)
I loved watching the plumes of smoke billowing from the tailpipe and seeing the annoyed look on people's faces behind us as they quickly rolled up their windows.
(We didn't have the car very long...)
1967 impala -✖
Dean's car - ✔
I learned to drive in a car like this. 67 Impala with a 283 cid engine. Power steering, airconditioning, power glide transmission. Had standard brakes.
The biggest defect is the second set of doors. But it’s still cool.
BOOOOOOO!
Maby he likes not having to move the front seat everytime someone in the back enters and exits
had this exact car many years ago with a 283 and a glide . ran it on a rural mail route ( torture ) for six years and yes it was one of the best cars I ever owned . later used it just as a snow car . became very rusty . sold it to a kid who put the engine & trans in a S-10
No way in hell that thing passes E.U. emissions. Also when Dean and Sam come looking for their dad's car you are going down son!
theldun1 I don't think that there are any EU emission standards on classic cars.
Never heard of anybody having problems with it.

Nothing wrong with a Moredoor. Sometimes they have better proportions than the two door. On this car both look great.

Haha the '69 sounds like it could RiP somebody a new one..... Hahaha😆😂🤣😂👍🏼😎✌🏼
US Army had a bunch of these ('67 Biscaynes) as staff cars a very long time ago. And yes, they were near zero option cars???
I also later owned a Chevy Chevelle SS 1973 MODEL and a 1980 El Camino and a 1971 Olsmobile I think another Coupe like my Big Impala (Huge engine). I had a few other muscle cars as I was a frisky girl who loved them. But the car I drove about 450,000 miles having bought it pre-owned is still THE WINNER with me. It was a 1980 Datsun 200 SX Coupe. 5 Speed. Nice Gauges I learned to trust. A mechanic bought it from me STILL RUNNING REALLY WELL.
I owned two 1969 two door Impalas in the ‘70’s. One with a 327 and one with a 427. I loved those cars.

Dude, give back Sam and Dean's car!
