  • As 2017 comes to a close, I wanted to share a very personal struggle I've been dealing with. As much as we all want to look like life is perfect, for many of us it's not.
If you've been struggling this year, I encourage you to seek out help in your local community. None of us should have to suffer alone.
If you can take anything away from this video, just know your life has purpose and that Depression Is A Liar. Those ugly thoughts that we get stuck on are completely untrue.
I encourage you to read up on Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Reach out to support groups in your area. Look for apps on your phone that can help lead your thoughts and actions to a more positive place. It won't happen overnight, but every little step will take you one step closer to the life you deserve!
    I love you all!

I needed this today. 💜 it’s good to know I’m not alone and it’s a good reminder to remember that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you.

My guess is that most of us wear a mask. We wear it to hide our truth from others and even ourselves. I do hope 2018 is a wonderful year for you, Jael.

Much respect for both you and Jenn, for speaking out and for getting help and being aware. Thank goodness it's becoming more socially okay to talk about our mental health and it's not just expected for everyone to 'get over it'. There is definitely a light at the end of the tunnel, and I promise it isn't a train.

Thank you. I know this was not easy. It was brave and inspiring. I have fought both low grade depression and anxiety my entire life. A lot is linked to my chronic pain conditions and how that affects every aspect. This has been the toughest year in awhile. It's so very isolating and being who I am I so my best to hide it from everyone, which I feel makes it even more of a struggle trying not to be a burden. But your title is dead on...cause I have had better years and I know there can be a light that's not a train at the end of the tunnel. I hope you see brighter days in 2018 ..sounds like you are making positive steps towards that.
