2007년 6월 7일, 10대 소년들로 이루어진 밴드 FT아일랜드가 가요계 혜성처럼 등장했다. 이들은 데뷔곡 ‘사랑앓이’로 데뷔 55일만에 지상파 음악방송 1위를 차지하고 주간 음원차트 8주간 1위를 기록하며 그 해 신인상을 휩쓸었다.
그로부터 10년 뒤인 2017년 6월 7일, FT아일랜드는 데뷔 10주년 기념 앨범 ‘OVER 10 YEARS’를 발매한다. 이번 앨범에는 FT아일랜드의 지난 날을 돌아보고, 활동 10년을 넘어 앞으로도 계속될 FT아일랜드의 미래를 담았다.
FT아일랜드는 지난 10년에 대해 “안주하지 않고 계속해서 변화하려 노력했다. 그 변화를 두려워하지 않았기 때문에 오래 버틸 수 있었다”고 입을 모은다. 데뷔와 동시에 주어진 뜨거운 인기에도 안주하지 않고 새로운 도전을 거듭한 FT아일랜드는 10년간 폭넓은 스펙트럼의 음악을 시도하며 점차 자신만의 색깔을 지닌 밴드로 성장했다.
FT아일랜드의 오랜 음악 여정을 반영하듯 이번 앨범에는 애절한 록발라드에서부터 강렬한 하드록, 신나는 펑크록까지 다채로운 자작곡 열두 곡이 담겼다. 또한 아름답고 웅장한 선율로 재탄생한 ‘사랑앓이 (With 김나영)’가 스페셜 트랙으로 수록되어 가요 팬들의 귀를 즐겁게 한다.

FTISLAND Release their 10th Year Anniversary Album ‘OVER 10 YEARS’
FTISLAND debuted in 2007 with ‘Love Sick’ which hit No.1 on music programs just 55 days after their debut. The track also recorded No.1 for 8 weeks on weekly digital charts and led the band to win ‘Rookie of the Year’ awards.
After 10 years on June 7th 2017, FTISLAND have released their 10th year anniversary album ‘OVER 10 YEARS’. The album focuses on FTISLAND’s past 10 years as well as the future to come.
When asked about the past 10 years, FTISLAND states that “We never settled and always strived to make changes. We weren’t afraid of these changes which is why we were able to make it this far.” FTISLAND received recognition and popularity upon debut, however they strived to challenge themselves over the past 10 years which helped to develop them as a band with their own color.
FTISLAND demonstrates their connection to a wide range of music throughout this album with 12 self-composed tracks of different genres from emotional rock ballads, dynamic hard rock to funky rock. The recreated ‘Love Sick (With Kim Na Young)’ has also been included as a special track, enticing the ears of many fans.

FT ISLAND was my very first kpop group back in 2010 when I got into kpop & Lee Hongki was my very first bias. Always a special type of love for FT ISLAND 💖
mine too. My first korean music downloaded in my phone playlist was FT Island album (SEVERLY time). And if i spend too much time without hearing them, when i do, i understand just how much i missed Hongi voice! A unique powerful voice you can never get enough! I hope he and his band mates live for 100 years and make music all of their life! New generations must know them too!

what a magnificent way to celebrate a decade-long of music! watching this mv is like witnessing FTIsland's transition from being young rookie hopefuls trying their hand in the music industry via the tried and tested ballad genre to finally breaking out of their idol molds midway through the song, and defining their band sound to the tune of hard rock, full of passionate emotions and grand instrumentation. their musical growth has been among the complex changes you can see in Kpop history, at least in recent years and I'm glad to know that it was all due to their conscious efforts to learn, to experiment, to experience and to challenge music as well as to generously share their talent and show their natural passion for music, not only to Primadonnas, but even to non-Primadonnas too.
Congratulations to FTIsland for giving us a wonderful and memorable 10 years of music! You are definitely treasures to cherish that we are so proud of! Cheers to the next decades to come! Continue rockin' FTIsland!
The sound, the piano, the orchestra, the location, all in point...excellent!!! But above all the voice of Lee HongKi is vibrant and bristles my skin... is what I expected from FT Island, Bravo!
I hear fans from so many groups complaining that their groups are "underrated" and it pisses me off seriously. most groups don't even perform live and just sing songs that were written by super popular songwriters while FT island are there, talented af, they can all sing, they compose their songs and they are all real artists but barely get any recognition for that. My heart still breaks when I think of how they came to Canada for a fundraising concert for japan and instead of having the 15 000 people that were suppose to attend we ended up being not even 1000. seriously it breaks my heart thinking about everything they go through for us.Underrated = FT island

I may not have been with them from the start and for a long time I only knew of Lee Hongki (I discovered FTISLAND because of him but I didn't give the other members my attention back then). But now, I love them all. I don't even know who my bias is. It looks like I don't have one anymore...
Realistically speaking though, we will not be there for each other always. As Jaejin said, after a long time, people tend to drift apart. But there is one thing I can promise you guys, our treasures, I will always remember you. When I'm old, I'll remember how an FTISLAND song made me smile, made me feel like I'm not alone, made me feel like nothing's impossible.. I am and I will be thankful for that.

the 10 yrs I've spent with these five incredible boys are the best things I've done with my whole life.Looking back from their debut days till today, they have come so far and and yet they stayed humble though they are one of the longest group in the industry. They're 10 years older than their debut selves but their songs never get old. and their voice. and their energy. and their love toward music. those things never get old. I was late a year after their debut and I felt I was dumb for not recognizing rhem earlier. I love their uniqueness in kpop worlds and i love their passion in music which lead them here. Maybe it's true what Hongki said (that FTI has lost so many fans and not gaining any) but one thing FTI should know is that their true Primadonnas have never give up on them and tried their best to make them on top again. we, the true primadonnas will never forget FTI bcs FTI gave a huge change in our life and FTI will always be in our heart. I discovered Hong Gi in ''You are beautiful'' ' in 2010 because my three daughters saw the series. I did not like the songs from the series and I forgot about it…....... I'm 45 years old . I have been a rock fanatic since the age of 12. I thought Rock was already DEAD. The new rock bands do not satisfy me, but FTISLAND with their high quality and diverse rock has appeared in my life 8 months ago and I fell in love forever, even though I do not know a language . I'm so sorry I just found them now. But I'm so HAPPY!!!❤🤘👍
