#DayinTheLifeofaNurse #PediatricNurse #DITL
This is the best DITL I’ve seen thus far. Other DITL be like “come w/ me to work!!!” and it just be them talking about their day in the break room.🤨
Thank you 😘😘😘
I know right!? Lol. It’s called Day in the life. I want to see you at work. I don’t particularly want to see you only talk about it in your car. It’s like show your viewers what you do. Or rename the video. 😂
Haha I feel this but I also understand why some nurses don’t actually show themselves/actually vlog at work because of HIPPA they have to keep a lot of things private
You seem like you really enjoy your job I’m a pre nursing student and I love this
I really do. It is what I was meant to do. Being a pediatric nurse brings me so much joy. And it’s even better when your patients see and understand how much you live caring for them. Good luck to you in your studies. Let me know if you have any questions 😊
@@jeneansjourney I’m interested in being a pediatric nurse too! Do you have a video of pros and cons?
Not yet coming soon!!!
@@jeneansjourney yessss plz!!
hi! What University are you having your pre Nursing Degeee?
I'm a nicu nurse and sometimes I sneak to the pediatric floor to talk to the kids
Awww how cute 🥰
God bless, Jesus loves you and died for you all.
😄❤👏
I’m a new nicu nurse and i love it but i need talkative kiddos sometimes 😂 sooo same
Awww
Without a doubt, nurses are the best people on the planet! I should know because I’ve been married to one of the best of them for 30 years.
She like you has that special heart and enthusiasm that makes you super hero’s!
On behalf of us mere mortals,
Thank you!!!
I was a pediatric registered nurse for 35 yrs. love every second of it. Kids are precious.
I know I really love working with them.
I'm in a serious mental funk and was looking up nursing day in the life videos to help me remember why I started this journey in the first place and I'm so happy your video exists! I loved this 12hr day compressed into 24min vlog! I loved that it was an actual day in YOUR life. Thank you for this. You just helped a girl out!
Awwww yay I am so gald it helped you out. Somedays I get in a funk and depressed state too and thats ok. You just have to remember why you got into this field and think about the good times and moments and lean on those.
Currently in nursing school and you make me want to go into Peds. You’re the cutest!
Aww thank you!!!
What did you decide?
im still in high school and im aspiring to be a peadiatric nurse:) you make it so much more exciting then it already is!!
Awww yay thanks 😊
Just realized halfway through college😩 I want to do nursing, so in the process of rearranging things so I can start my journey Goal is to either be a mental health nurse practitioner or pediatric nurse this video was really exciting to watch I love it !😭New subscriber btw ❤️
Its ok, I have another degree I worked on and never used before I decided to go back to school to become nurse. Its ok to change your mind and do something else. Its never too late 😊
I am about to start college and am thinking about nursing. I’d love to work with babies and or kids.
I remember when I was like 8 I was in the hospital for a few days and I remember this nurse that was really nice, he was really cool. I'm 19 now😊 I feel like you'll be one of those nurses that some of your patients will remember for a long time!! ❤️
Awwww thanks so much for that kind comment!!!! 🥰🥰🥰
you are such a sweet nurse making that sundae for that baby 🥺

This video is truly inspiring and encouraging for me to push through the books because at the end of the day is rewarding career. Btw I’m a pre nursing college student. Thank for the vlog!
You are so welcome! and you can do it. It is a lot of hard work but for me personally I think its worth it.
I love ur energy!!! I'm in my last semester of nursing school finishing in a paediatric unit and I'm so so excited!
Aww thank you. You can do it! Just push through!!
I’m 19 years old and I’m going to school to be a nurse and I wanted to work with kids so I’m here watching to see how it works because I’m Nervous and happy at the same time
It’s definitely great but can be tough at times. Pediatrics is so rewarding but sometimes working with sick kids can be a challenge
I’m currently a nursing student and my dream job is to work on a pediatric oncology floor. I enjoyed your video!!
I’m a pre nursing student and I know this is what I want to be just like u working with children ❤️
Awww you can do it. It can be hard at time but don’t get discouraged 😘
Me too! This is definitely my dream job.
I’m a pediatric medical assistant considering becoming a nurse and this was super helpful in understanding what the day of a nurse is like. Thank you!!
Awwww thanks 😊
Hands down the best ‘nursing day in the life’ video! Thanks for sharing so much about your day. I loved seeing how much of an impact you make! Your patients are very lucky to have you as a nurse caring for them. 💕
I'm a sophomore in high school looking into becoming a pediatric nurse. When I heard your name a gasped! Even with the different spellings our names are said the same way (plus I think we kind of look alike) and it made me really see myself in you. I could become just like you one day. Thank you for inspiring me!!
Awww your so sweet. Its awesome to see that your so involved and willing to go the extra mile for your patients. So heart warming.
Thank you 😊
If I were one of your patients, I believe you’d be the nurse I’d miss most after being discharged. You have such a warm & outgoing personality 🥰
Awww thank you so much for that ❤️❤️❤️❤️
1st video of yours that I watch and I subscribe. God took his time when he was making you!!!💯💯💯💕💕💕💕
🥰🥰🥰Thanks for watching and loving the kind words and support.
I really look up to females who went to school for nursing, finished strong and now working in the field. Because I would love to do it but just feel like this schooling would be way too hard for me😩 you go girl!! I love to see it!

I love this I'm graduating nursing school this spring, so excited, you seem so happy!
I love it! and congratulations its hard but rewarding being a nurse.
I'm 17 and i love seeing black pedi nurses, I can't wait to become one!
As a pediatric nurse its crazy how differently we do things! Admittedly im in oncology/BMT so we have a million meds usually so the first hour and a half is literally just getting meds ready and administered. Plus were meant to do our AM assessments at the bedside (we have computers at every bedside). Then by that point they'd be due meds again (typically every 2 hours depending on how sick they are). I definitely spend a lot less time doing the "fun stuff" cause our kids are usually so sick. Its a lot more running around getting orders filled and clarified + intense symptom management.
Wow what an amazing blog!! This is seriously the best nurse day in the life vlogs I’ve watched, honestly. I am a nursing student currently and it’s so so hard right now but I want to be a pediatric nurse and this makes me so excited for the future!! I can see how much you love your job and it def shows to your patients - we need more nurses like you, thank you!!!✨✨✨✨
*vlog lol oops 😂
Thank you thank you thank you 😊
shes a pediatric nurse & i am a successful pediatrician doctor :)
This has definitely helped with my choice of being a nurse!! I’ll be starting school in the fall and I’m even more excited now, this was the most realistic and in depth DITL
I’m thinking of becoming a pediatric nurse. Is it hard? I love helping kids too
You can do it!!!
LOVE your energy and vibes!! You are what I want to be like when I become an RN

I’ve always had a desire to do pediatrics, but I feel like I would be crying every two seconds 🥺😭😂
No you wouldn’t. It’s more smiles than tears.
@@jeneansjourney thanks for letting me know too, I was going to choose between this & mother baby nurse
Do you get infants on your floor? I currently work mother/ baby and nicu and I’m looking to transfer to peds ❤️. I just came across your channel and I love it! Thank you for the content 🤗

I am a vet tech right now and am having the hardest time and feel such a draw to being a pediatric nurse but am so worried to quit a job I just started, you look like you love your job and enjoy this environment and that’s what I want!
I absolutely love my job, but it does have it tough times. Definitely way the pros and cons of both before making a big decision to change careers altogether. I do have a video about the pros/cons of nursing maybe check that out and see if you can volunteer in the hospital setting before making a decision. Hope this helps, good luck 😊

I’m currently a tech/nursing student on a medsurg/covid unit and I’m praying that God opens the door for pediatrics. Even if He doesn’t, I know this is where He needs me right now. Thank you for this video, I loved it☺️
Thank you for watching and I’m so glad you enjoyed it. If you really want to work in pediatrics God will make a way for you. I didn’t start in pediatrics right out of school and was able to work my way up and find a position. It will come when it’s time. Good luck to you ☺️
@@jeneansjourney thank you!
In a video or something could you describe your duties as a peds nurse ? I’m really interested in having a career in peds and I’d just like to know more about it if that’s ok ? Xoxox

Thank you SO MUCH for showing a DITL that 1) Doesn't start with grooming yourself in mirror for 10 min & making coffee
2) Skipping right to lunch talkin about your day while camera points up your nose towards ceiling 🤣🙏 Good luck on your NP path 🤍
Lol well I am So happy you enjoyed it. I try to give as my real footage as possible without jeopardizing patient privacy.

I want to be like you Nurse Jenean. I'm about to start my last semester of nursing school this up coming Monday. To be honest, I wasn't feeling too excited because 3rd semester was such a kiler. I want to be a pediatric nurse. I'm also Black (Haitian🇭🇹). I look up for you so much. There is not enough pediatric nurse content, so please keep posting. I will definitely be watching this video again💯💯
I was nervous about final semester too but now I'm super pumped! Took my first med surg 3 exam and got an A. I'm sooooo ready to start my journey as a pediatric nurse as well.
Congratulations to you. ❤
Thank you for watching and thanks for those beautiful words. I’m so glad I can inspire the future nurses. I know nursing school can be discouraging because it’s can be overwhelming at times with all the new information you have to learn. But just keep striving you are almost at the finish line abs you can do it 🥰
Thanks
Noticed you work at the hospital I plan to apply for when i graduate in May! :) I also want to work in Peds! Do you work on a specialty unit or medsurg?
I used to work pediatric med/surg

You’re welcome and good luck. Just know it won’t be easy and all smiles but if you love it enough you will make it through ☺️
Hi!! I just passed my NCLEX last week and I have no idea what I want to specialize in! Sadly covid ruined my peds and OB clinical rotations.. but this video makes me want to be a PICU nurse… maybe ? Lol great video :)
Thank you snd if it’s something you want to do try it out and you may love it. Fun fact: When I did my pediatric rotation in school I actually didn’t see one pedi patient lol
Pediatrician is one of the jobs I’m considering and your so great at it! I can really tell you love your job! Your so great!!!
Aww thank you 😊 I really love pedi
i wanna be a paediatric nurse when im older 🤍
I’ve been conflicted on which speciality I wanted. I’ve been focused on ob, l&d or icu. I LOVE kids. I stopped at 17:55 to comment. Your video sealed my deal, I’m going in PED which I never even considered. Your sundaes was the deciding factor. Thank you so much!
New subscriber!! I love your energy and outlook on life! I’m currently a nurse assistant worked the healthcare field for 3 yrs considering going back to school for nursing and you’ve truly inspired me ! Thank you! 💗

Awwww thank you so much for that kind comment!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for making this video. I’m a college student working to get into a nursing program, and I was pretty sure I would choose pediatric nursing, but wasn’t 100% sure. But after seeing this video, I now feel 110% sure I do want to become a pediatric nurse. The being able to work with kids everyday and therefore hold onto your inner child tightly, and help heal and educate those kids as well. This is the fulfilling type of work I want to do with my life. Absolutely amazing to learn about what this job would be like. And you are so awesome! We appreciate you and the incredible work you do! 😌😌💗💗💗💗
You’re soo positive, I love it!! I’m sure the kiddos love to see it too! I am a prenursing student and I literally took my HESI A2 exam Friday (1/21) and I did okay, I didn’t fail but my school wants me to retake it because they want higher scores. Hearing this news was discouraging me a bit but you are my confirmation that Pediatric Nursing is where I BELONG! Thank you & be blessed.
Thank you for watching and just know that just because you have a set back doesn’t mean you should quit. All that means is you need to think of a different game plan to achieve your goal. Good luck 👍🏾
@@jeneansjourney Thank you so much for your advice! I appreciate it.

I’m a freshman in high school and I really want to be a pediatric nurse when I’m older :) thank you for this video it gives me some perspective! Is it a rewarding job and was all the schooling worth it?
Yes it was worth every tear and all the heartache. I’m still working as a nurse and as it is with anything’s there will always be ups and downs. But it’s a great way to make a living and is very fulfilling

Wow ❤️❤️ I'm also becoming a Pedeatric Nurse😊
Yay Congratulations!!!
I want to become a Pediatric Hospitalist.
Love the video 🥰❤
You can do it!
Hey lady, so you only have 2 patients? That’s so cool. Is it hard in the beginning to deal with pediatric doses?
No I only had 2 patients because it was at the height of the pandemic last year. Typically in pediatrics you can have 4-5 patients during a shift, depending upon the facility you work in. No it isnt difficult learning the pediatric doses. While in RN school you have to take a dosing class and test every semester so you get very use to calculating dosing.
Literally I set there at 3 am crying because everybody keeps discouraging me saying it’s super hard to be a pediatric nurse. I started my nursing degree last year and all my classes been online. Next semester is gonna be in person. I am so nervous and idk what to do. I wanna be a pediatric nurse but idk if I have the courage cuz sometimes I get so nervous. I found your video and it gave me a little bit of courage. Thank you! 😭❤️
No problem I’m glad I could help You got this don’t give up it is a bit difficult at times but stay motivated and stay focus and you can do it🥰🥰🥰

New subbie! here I really enjoyed this vlog, I'm currently a pre-nursing student and I will be applying in the spring. My ultimate goal is to become a pediatric nurse and this video has motivated me to study hard until I reach that point. Unfortunately, I tend to struggle with time management and I know important it is, do you have tips on how to stay organized in nursing school?
Yes lots of binders, folders and a planner. I live by my planner to stay on top of things. I look over my task in my planner multiple times a day to make sure I’m staying on track.
I love kids but I don’t want to work with kids
That's ok, it's good to know that up front and find the specialty that works best for you
we need more nurses lke you. thanks for doing what you do
Thank you 😊
I’m a current nursing student and I know in my heart this is my calling. I love kids and I have one of my own. I treat other children like I do my own. They’re the cutest 🥰
When you know you know and working in a specialty you love will make all the difference on the hard days!!
Omg I just fell in love with you. You are so awesome! 😇
Awww thank you 😊
Do you call the pharmacy benefit managers to obtain patients authorizations?
No ma’am not in the acute care setting.
I can tell you really love your job! Your commitment and joy really come through on camera! Keep being great and inspiring! 👍🏾💫

Do you work on a pediatric ICU, or just a pediatric unit? It would be a dream to have only 1 or 2 patients! I’m currently on a medsurg unit which has turned covid and we have 4-6 COVID patients a night!
I work both pediatrics but sometimes I float to the PICU OR NICU as needed

I’ve been researching Pediatric Nursing becuase i’m considering it as a job when i’m alot older
💊💊💊💊
Ahhhhhh the days before the “panorama n the Omarion “ 😩😩
I’m so grateful I came across this video it gave me motivation. I just started my last semester of prerequisites and taking physiology along with 2 other classes and I am freaking out because I just got hired at a hospital and training is going to be full time for 2 months then it’ll be per diem after that. I’m a single mom and not sure if I should hold off on physiology until next semester???😬
How many classes are you taking along with the physiology course? And if it is too much, My honest opinion is to drop a few classes. Its better to get good grades in 1 or 2 classes than to fail 3 or 4 classes. It is much harder to get your GPA back up. Don't feel like you have to rush it, you will complete the program when its meant for you to complete it. It took me much longer to become a nurse because I felt pressure to try and keep up with society expectations, instead of going at my own pace. You can do it!!
@@jeneansjourney thank you for your reply! ❤️ I am taking a total of 3 classes. My physiology professor does not have PowerPoint lectures that I can take notes from and that’s honestly how I’ve survived my other science courses. It’s all going to be case study based and have to make my own notes by reading the book but I’m just lost. Im not sure how exactly to write notes from textbooks because I’ve been more used to PowerPoints. Any advice on how to study/write notes effectively?
@@jeneansjourney I love this reply! I’m learning not to compare my timeline to others. I would get discouraged at times bc I feel like I am behind. I’m 19 and I had to take a gap year off to save money
OMG that is the right thing to do. And you are so young, just know you have time and don't let society pressure you. You can do it and do it in your own time to be as successful as possible.
💊
my preceptorship is in peds med surg and I'm so excited!
OMG yay. Pediatrics is the best speciality of all time, but I may be a lil biased lol
Your Star Wars scrubs🥰🥰🥰. Thank you for this video. I love how you treat your speak to your patients with respect. You make this specialist look so fun, and rewarding🤍
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you 🥰🥰🥰
Hi Jenean:)) How many beds are in your floor? Right now I’m on a cardiac unit (non-PEDS) with 31 beds so each day shift nurse has about 4-5 patients and to me it’s too much, I’m so jealous that you only have about 2 patients!
Hi thanks for watching and this was right as the pandemic hit so our census was pretty low. Typically as pediatric nurses we can get 4-5 patients as well. But they try to keep us at 4. So don’t be jealous just remember why you became a nurse.
