this is the first video of yours that i have seen. and it's a good one! what a beautiful bag! it's also a great teaching video. easy to understand and great directions... also the camera angles are perfect for seeing what you are doing up close. thanks for taking the time to make this video....
Hi saw your video about 2 weeks ago. I loved the way you put the bag together. I have just made it up and it went together great. I did do the handles differently. I marked where to sew them when attaching to the bag. After this, I sewed about 1½" above this mark before attaching to the main body of the bag. This made it easier then when i folded the handles as I didn't have to struggle to sew the small bits after. Hope I explained myself ok 😅.
Thank you, Jane! That sounds like a great modification. If you are not already in the Simply Classic Inspiration Group on Facebook, please feel free to join and share your finished bag. I'd love to see how it turned out! facebook.com/groups/simplyclassic
What kind of fabric did you use for the lining? Also if you could possibly add a note on the video to the section where you are adding the zip and slip pockets to switch it to 3” it would save others like me who were sewing along with you. 😉 I am almost done with mine. I really like your style of teaching.
Could you make this out of a canvas and then the bottom out of something heavier like faux leather? I'm trying to figure out how to make this work with my small domestic machine.
My faux leather is stretching and also the needle marks are showing brown front the backing.. Your Pattern is great as is your video but I am having issues with the material. Should or better CAN I interface the leather? I do have an industrial sewing machine …actually just got it, therefore not knowing what to do to fix these issues .
Use a 16 or 18 needle and a tex 70 thread. Yes, you can interface it if you need to prevent stretching. But the walking foot should pretty much prevent that from happening. Also, use double sided tape, that helps prevent the materials from slipping and stretching.
What weight of thread do you use? And, what stitch length. I like the way the bag looks and certainly want to try it. However, thread I have for the industrial machine (hasn't been used yet) I think would be heavy. Thank you. You make it all seem doable
Thanks for watching Cindy. I used Amann bonded nylon Tex 70 thread. You can find it at Sunny Sewing Machines, here is a link sunny-sewing-machines.myshopify.com/
For foam, use Annie's Soft & Stable. You can get it at most sewing shops. Another option is Pellon, you can get it at Joanne Fabric. Lastly Bosal has a foam that I have seen at Hobby Lobby.
Thanks for watching Diane, I do have the settings of the channel set for "not for kids". But if YT knows that you are an adult, I would think that would be okay. I wonder if the year of your DOB is incorrect in YT?
Thank you so much 🙏 for sharing! You have inspired me! 😊 have a great life with your bag making ❤ I love your channel ! ❤ Thank you!🙏

@simplyclassic already there and the bag is on show 😂
I enjoy watching and learning from you. You make it seem so easy. How about the medium size?
Yes. Working on a video for that some time in the future!
Wonderful crafting and superb. Hey I love the double sided where I I buy some.
I purchase my double sided tape at Wawack www.wawak.com/search-results/
That looks like a more manageable size to try. Oh no, you forgot the key fob 😮❤❤still adorable and beautifully made
I tend to forget it!
Very cute! When you say "basting," do you increase the stitch length?
I do not. But true basting you do

Thank you Laura, I will get with the editor and do this for sure. I can see how it would help! Thank you for watching.
This is gorgeous! Thank you Chris! No way I’m trying that but it was beautiful to watch 😂
Thank you for watching Leslie!
same for me!
i've got some sewing skills but perhaps not the patience for the details...
it is a beautiful bag...
Merci
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching!

Yes, absolutely!
What machine is that ?- that little foot is mesmerising !
I sew with a Consew 206RB5. I have had it for about 20 years and love it!
@@simplyclassicI just got a Consew 206rb4. Going to put a servo motor on this weekend. Can’t wait to make this!

Where do you purchase your labels for inside your bags
Those come from Dutch Label Shop. www.dutchlabelshop.com/
If i use cotton material and pelon 808 will that work for outside fabric
Yes to the cotton, but you will probably need foam instead of 808.

I love this bag, would you recommend using leather?
Absolutely! It would be gorgeous in leather.
Awesome!! May I ask what model is your machine?
Yes, I use a Consew 206RB5. I have had it for about 20 years and love it!
How much material did you use for the main and the lining?
1/2 yard of main fabric and 1/2 yard of lining fabric will work. Thanks for watching!
@@simplyclassic I just love your videos. Much love from Trinidad and Tobago
Can i make out of cotton fabric
Yes, absolutely!
@@simplyclassic will it be flimsy
You will just need to make sure you use some Decovil or foam stabilizer, then you should be fine.
@@simplyclassic never heard of either of them.where do i get them at?
For foam, use Annie's Soft & Stable. You can get it at most sewing shops. Another option is Pellon, you can get it at Joanne Fabric. Lastly Bosal has a foam that I have seen at Hobby Lobby.
Where was the key fob added?
I forgot to add it! I found it sitting on the table after the video! I am terrible about forgetting them!!!
I try to turn on notifications but it says “notifications are turned off for kids”

@@simplyclassic nope all is correct. I’m subscribed to about 150 channels lol.
Ok. Let me ask my computer people and see if they can figure out what the problem might be. Sorry for the inconvenience.
