I hate to say this but after all the debates about Vivian for decades, it has come to my attention that she is officially confirmed to be a transwoman. I am truly happy to see this happen. This is why Vivian is one of my favorite characters because she is absolutely cute.

Normally I'd be against the change of a character in these kinds of ways because they're just trying to get good will artificially. With Vivian, it's different because it is bringing the Japanese script faithfully into the English one meaning that the change is removing censorship. I know about the catcalling not being kept, but if I remember correctly, funnily enough this would be the same reason that we see this Vivian change to the US release, following the Japanese script. While I would have preferred the catcalling be kept so that the Japanese players could see it, I feel sometimes sacrifices need to be made. Though often times, the Japanese script is better so I hope that this holds true here.

Personally, my headcanon is that Vivian, Merilyn, and Beldam are all genderfluid, as realistically speaking, how would one perform the proceedure on a shadow-ghost type being like the Shadow Sirens? Still, score one for trans-rights!
