Love the PF's also -- have a handful of pairs myself. My couple of minor complaints with them is; although yes, the laces are great quality! Thicker, cotton laces, much better than the thinner ones you find on Chucks... However, they are much longer than they need to be. I find myself having to triple knot just to eat up some left over lace so they aren't dangling all loose over my shoes when I am walking. My 2nd minor complaint, is comparing to the chuck, you ever notice how if you lace up PF's all the way, near the top at both ends of the eyelets they kind of really start to close in very close to each other, they practically touch. It's as if the outside canvas part of the shoe is cut and designed to sort of wrap over your foot and ankle much much more than the inside part, and this throws off the symmetrical look of both canvas pieces. Where as on a chuck, it's more symmetrical and both sides of the shoe hug and wrap around your ankle more evenly as you lace them up... I wish PF's did that too.
Use the side holes for the lace length. I straight-lace my Converse vintage 70's for quicker tightening and releasing (and cause I like the look), which gives more length to the laces....routed the lacing into the side holes, and bam, problem solved.

Have you tried the Chuck 70s? Interested to see how they hold up compared to PF flyers or regular Chuck Taylors
You don't drag your feet, you walk on your heals,
I mean, the complaint is reasonable yes but if you’re online just read the reviews. That’s what I always do to make sure if they run big or small
