Healthy and happy skin does not mean "flawless" - whatever that might be. I have been struggling with acne, hyperpigmentation and postinflammatory erythema (PIH and PIE) for most of my adult life, and it took me a while to figure out that gentle is key. I went through a retinol damaged skin barrier, acne flare ups and sun damage until I finally reached my happy place: With Tretinoin, sunscreen and of course a red lipstick!

Hello, I am 23. I work at the Estée Lauder counter in Dillards. I use this serum 2x daily along with the under eye cream at night and the day and night wear moisturizers. Although I may necessarily not need it yet; it has made such a big difference in my skin. I always recommend to all my customers and will definitely buy for my daughter in years to come when she is much older.
I really enjoy it too.

How long can I use estee Lauder serum
I’ve been using this since I was 22 years. I’m 29 now and always: ALWAYS staff people of different services asks me for my ID, even in the airport they ask me if I’m an “adult” because I should not travel as a youth alone 😅. It works! My skin is wonderful.

I'm 28 and just started using it, it's amazing my pores are reduced and skin feels so soft it's defiantly worth the money but it's defiantly a treat 😁
For me it is absolutely worth the money, I agree.
I tried this some years ago when my skin was acting up and I was very impressed. I didn't buy it at the time because it was out of my budget, but only that single use from trying it at the store, calmed my skin and made it feel super smooth and hydrated.

Hi , I have used Estée Lauder night repair for thirty years and my skin drank it up and yes my skin at 69 yrs old and it’s stunning and no person realises how old I am, mind you my mother took me Estée Lauder counter at 16 yrs old and mother paid for my skin care until I qualified , so thanks mum , knowing I would buy makeup instead ! So yes my money was spent on Estée Lauder makeup and mums was my skin care ! Bless her . But I can say my skin is beautiful and looks amazing for my age.
However my younger family was treated exactly the same so everyone thinks we have genes to keep us young ! How wrong are they.
But I look back at 69 , and my skin looks amazing thank you Estée Lauder, will I change my skin care absolutely not ! Will I change my primer , foundation , concealer not a chance ! I love all my products and yes I have new back ups in case anytime I can’t rebut . Buts it’s a big tank you to my mother a big thank you to Estée Lauder , and it gives me love for my ski; , so yes ! @@uzmaak4891 I don´t really use it specifically around my eyes.
My skin has more volume since I started using this formula both day and night. A little goes a long way. I am def not the type to hype products, but I lovelove Estee Lauders serum, and eye cream as well. Overall a pricey product, but it does the job. So it's a yes for me all the way!
If you see the results, that is what ultimately counts. And as you said, you don't need much, which makes the price more bearable.

Same! I got redness too. Oh also, here is another thing that was recommended to me by my dermatologist it's called Cetaphil Redness Relieving Night Moisturizer, it's only 15 bucks but it worked on me. Of course it didn't work overnight, but I started to see good result after i've used half tube. I use this after that serum, then this lotion, then retinol.

I’m 23 and I started my skincare 2 years ago. I added this and nighttime repair/ day wear, my skin feels and looks amazing. It’s definitely a bit pricey but it lasts me about 3 months the big bottle so it’s not terrible.
I agree, if it works for you, it is worth the money.
Wow only 3 month. Mine can last half the year or more. But I use a tiny tiny bit cause I'm oily based x

Yes, you don't need a much. I usually get Lancome holiday box but this year I decided to get Estee Lauder and love the serum an creams. Around Black Friday and Christmas you can get nice sets for better price. My birthday is in December, so good skincare is my Birthday and Christmas presents.

Hello, I have a dry skin, so is it safe to use this product twice everyday for morning and night? Also, is it okay to use this product before retinol then moisture?
Yes and yes.

I had seen ads for this and got a free sample with some beauty purchases. I had no idea it was so good, it minimizes the “eleven” lines in between my brows so well and the skin looks so much better. I use it every night before going to bed. I apply it first and when it’s completely absorbed it I use a retinol cream. Worth every penny 👍👍👍👍👍

I pick up a 100ml bottle from airports when I travel. Been using on/off am and pm for 15 years - I always need to spritz my face first though otherwise feels tacky. I have added in retinol and peptide creams as well as I am approaching 37

i'm not sure why.. i've been using so many expensive products.. way more expensive than EL, I got this as a gift from sephora. When I started using it, I can seriously see the difference. So I'm here now trying to find out if it's really as good as I think it is.
In the end you have to make that decision for yourself, but I am still using it several years after filming this video.
I agree! I grew up my mother only using Estée Lauder. ... male here. It's quite pricey in the US but the cost is worth it

hi i have used it for over twenty years i just love it , will i continue to use it absolutely, in fact i use all estee lauder skin care and complexion products , and now a mature lady , with only a few fine lines well i think my skin enjoys it !

Hi doctor Anne. I used this product since January and one time I used this with Antipodes avocado pear night cream and I had terrible alergy. Which as far as I know, I never have any alergy. But when I use them separately I have no problem at all. I believe they have some ingredients that will make chemical reactions when combined
While I of course can't say for sure, I don't think that is likely. Skincare products are usually formulated in a way that they don't react easily so they are more stable.
I used this one time with no other products and had bad break out and swollen face

would like to ask, i have a combi type skin, and my skin condition is more to dry in the cheeks and forehead area, also there are acne scars ( PIE ).
Does the ANR can help with my skin problem?
i tried my mom’s sample for two days now, it does calm my skin, all the dry skin has improved a lot after using the ANR, still considering buying the bigger size but im concern does this serum can helps with my PIE

That depends on your skin, but for most skin types yes, I would say a moisturizer afterwards is a good idea.
Can I use Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair with retinol? Which I use first?
Yes, you can, and I personally would use Estee Lauder first.
I always wondered about this serum & had some simples. But I'm not sure if I felt anything special! Maybe I have to use longterm!! Some people love it & some think is overhyped. I think it just depends how each individual's skin reacts to it.

Every skin is different. I really adore it, but that is probably because it is just what my skin reacts best to. It is definitely not a must have for everyone.

Yes. Just let the Glycolic Acid absorb fully before.

Both is fine, depending on your preference. For maximum results Tretinoin should go first, but there is no harm in using this serum first either. Basically: Do what works for you.

That depends on your skin. Usually it should be followed up by a moisturizer, but if your skin is quite oily and you live in a humid climate, it might be enough on its own.
This product is my NR.1 ! I have it since years and it helps me with my acne spots A LOT !!!!!!!!
It is lovely.
I started using this again after years and I tried so many brands. It gives you a healthy color. I always got it as sample. Had so many of them but I think it is better than more expensive brands. It also gives you a healthy sun kissed look.
That is interesting, I didn't notice any changes in my skin color.

No, to does not contain retinol, and yes, you can use a separate retinol serum.
Hi ,I have a que I’m using this from last 15 days .I have dry skin but still have no good results .is it good for dry skin ?
It depends what else you are using. On it's own it probably won't be enough to quench dryness, you'll need an occlusive moisturizer (and a gentle cleanser) as well. And 15 days isn't that long to see results, 4-6 weeks is a better time frame.

Yes, you can use the serum, and no, it will not help cure acne. You need other things to fight acne, and it is best to see a doctor about them.

I use it as a serum, and any moisturizer will work fine paired with it.

Yes, you can, but I do not recommend mixing different products.

Yes, but it probably won’t help with dark circles.
I just received this in a promotion. Should I apply it after cleansing at night and nothing else? Or can I use my other serums too? I have vitamin C and a night moisturizer. I’m 45 and trying to keep my skin soft and firm. Great video!
After cleansing, yes, but I would follow up with a moisturizer. The Vitamin C could be used with it as well, but if that is too many layers you can shift the Vitamin C to the mornings.

@@bozulbobkova4049 In that instance I would use the Vitamin C in the mornings, then at night cleanse, use the retinol serum and then use a moisturizer or use this serum and then a cream with retinol. Both works.

Use it at night after cleansing and yes, most skin types will need a cream on top, only very oily ones may not.
Dr Anne, how is this product different from ANR eye, I mean can I use this one in the eye area instead of buying the one specified for eye? If not, can you recommend an eye serum? Another question that’s not related to the video but I’d appreciate it if you’ll answer, do I need to use a sunscreen if I’m using SPF moisturizer?
You can use that one around the eye area, but as I never tried the eye version I can´t tell you exactly how they differ from each other. You do however not need a separate eye product if you don´t want to - the only time I think it is important to consider that is if you want to use a retinoid.
And for moisturizer with SPF - I recommend using a dedicated SPF and I have a video coming up explaining why.
Hi Doctor, at what age should we start using this ? And i am a 26 year old is using argan oil on face after cleansing okay at my age ??
I think age 30+ is an age where this will provide the most benefit, depending on your skin. And I am not a huge fan of pure oils for the face, but if it works for you, there is no harm in it.

That depends on what you are looking for. Maybe something lightly exfoliating if you feel your skin looks dull, or something more hydrating if you have fine lines.

Can I mix vitamin c serum with this serum ? Is Night cream necessary after this?
Yes, you can mix it with Vitamin C serum as in apply both to the skin. I do never recommend mixing serums in the palms of your hand before application. And if you need a night cream depends on your skin, but I think all but extremely oily skins will benefit from a moisturizer afterwards.
@@DoctorAnne usually I apply Estée Lauder serum on my face directly and I mix vitamin c serum with Clinique moisture surge and then apply on my face in my night routine ! Is this a wrong way ?
@@sivaraman1100 There is no wrong way if it works for you. I am personally more a fan of applying one after the other, but if what you are doing works for your skin, no need to change it.
My mother was on Estee Lauder's skincare and had great skin.
She was 74 when she died and did not have wrinkles.
It worked for her. My grandmother also used this product and died at age 84, she also did not have any wrinkles.
I am curious if you have reviewed Lancome's serum (Genifique) which would be a competing product.
If so, how do you feel that Lancome's Genifique Serum competes and compares with Estee Lauder's Night Repair Serum? I'd love to see you review these two for a couple of weeks or months - and see which one you recommend based on trying them both on either side of your face.
I haven‘t yet, but you are not the first to ask for this comparison, so I will definitely do it at one point. I had no idea Lancome had so many fans.
Hi Doc, I m 33 and I used this product after hearing so much about this but I got very bad acne on my face. Any suggestions ??
If the acne started with using the products, stop it and see if it goes away. If you already had acne: This one will not help treat it, that is not what it is designed for.

i adore night repair i have been using it for over twenty five years , and would i sacrifice it for a perfume absolutely not , would i sacrifice for a an evening out ? absolutely not , people who know me buy this for me as a gift as they know i am such a follower of this beautiful product its worked well for me over the years , i have been very unwell but this beautiful serum has helped my skin without question , what have i received this christmas yes well i think you will know ! my regards liz x

Hey. I’ve started using this serum. My skin started feeling fresh and soft. But there are increased number of acne. I am not sure if it is purging or breakout? How can i be sure
The serum does not contain ingredients that encourage purging. Best way is to stop and see if the breakouts disappear - a lot of things can cause breakouts, so it might be just a coincidence, but of course it might be that your skin doesn´t agree with the serum.
I also experienced more acne since using this product. Was wondering if i was the only one.

I was advised at Estée Lauder to apply the serum day and night and then apply an anti-wrinkle cream on top. Does this make sense or is it a waste of product?
That depends on what else you use. I don't think you need it twice a day to see benefits, but it will certainly do no harm.
@@DoctorAnne I am using Estee Lauder résilience multi-effect. They told me to apply this cream right after applying the serum, which I find quite awkward
@@alfonsobarragues7874 Why do you find it awkward? I never tried this cream, but using the serum and then a moisturizer directly after it helps keep hydration in the skin.
@@DoctorAnne I find it is awkward because it is heavy on the skin to apply the two at a time morning and evening. But if you think it is moré hydrating I will follow your advice

Hi Doctor, I am using it also. But I thought that it can reduce the lines, so what is the RETINOL that you advised people here to use? Is it a medecine or cream?
Retinol is an ingredient that is related to Tretinoin. I have a playlist explaining the differences and talking about ways to incorporate it if you want to learn more.
I late ro the game but I just purchased the Estee Lauder ANR and my 52 ur old skin seems ro love it. It's exactly what you said: it's not something you need but it does seem to calm my skin down when nothing else does. There is no huge difference I see in my skin it's very subtle but it is worth it imo.
I agree, very subtle, but your skin just is overall better.

Yes, although for maximum effect retinol should be used on clean skin. If you combine the two, let it sink in completely before you apply the retinol.

@@ailemak59 I wouldn't necessarily use both: This and Hyaluronic Acid, but if you want to, it doesn't really matter. And I would do this and then retinol or retinol on its own.
I used to use the la Mer renewal oil at night. Although I thought it was amazing I was ready to try something else. I picked this and omg my skin has thanked me so much I look 5 years younger

Hi thanks for the reply I love your videos. I have tried everything from la Mer and to honest it isn’t worth the price. The renewal oil is probably the best product from la Mer as it is a really nice facial oil that is light and non greasy. However, other products from la Mer seem to not really work as I have not noticed a change in my skin when using them. If you want a nice lux skincare brand fry shesido :)

I don´t recommend mixing products in the palm of your hand in general, but you can use both in the same routine.

My skin is acne prone and it works great for me. For sensitive skin it depends on your individual skin, but it doesn´t contain any strong irritants.

@@beaulahbhakre4504 Well, it does even out the skin tone, but what you describe is melasma, a form of hyperpigmentation and there are other products better suited to that task. To be honest, most topical skincare will struggle with that.

It has ingredients that will have a subtle effect there, but it isn't specifically aimed at brightening stubborn hyperpigmentation.

Yes, but I suggest you look into things like BHA or retinoids as well.

Hi Dr.Anne. I will be making 28 this year. I already feel like my skin is aging as I have issues with acne and stress that affects my skin. And under my eyes look tired and has wrinkles due to eye allergies. I’m wondering if it’s okay for me to start using these products because I already see signs of aging. (I am African American)
While there is no harm in using it (other than the price point), I would make sure that I have the basics in place before, like regular sunscreen (yes, even for melanated skin), hydration, a good cleansing routine and maybe, if you feel like you are aging prematurely, a retinoid. If you already have that, then maybe this one is a good addition.

As it's mostriuser is costly so please suggest other good one.
You can use any moisturizer you want with it.

The product isn't bad, but is totally not worth the cost. At least in my opinion. Here are the OG Korean skin care products with better ingredients I'd rather buy.
1. manyo bifida complex ampoule
2. manyo galactomy niacin essence

4. Benton Fermentation Essence

However, the addition of three different Lactobacillus ferment extracts, Niacinamide and three different peptides including copper peptide-1 is what makes the Isntree one more preferable to me. The Isntree one gave me a relatively poreless appearance with just one use.

Do you already use a hydrating serum? That would be my first suggestion, followed by The Ordinary Copper Peptides + Buffet (in the mornings). If you already have those (or similar ones by another brand), then this is worth trying as well.
We have a bottle of it that came with a gift pack. We don't know how to use it. My wife wants to know how to use it.
After cleansing your face and before moisturizer. Once a day, but twice a day works as well. It pairs well with other ingredients and can be used morning or night.
Always patch test any new products before application.

1. It is a hydrating anti-aging serum.
2. Yes, it works with BHA.
3. That depends on your skin. You can try using it without a moisturizer and see how your skin feels the next day.

Because SHE gives you reasons why SHE loves it, but in the end only you can decide what is worth the money for you and your individual skin concern. I have purchased its exclusive edition in a Golden bottle 115 ml . But all the bottles I see are of Brown colour. The liquid inside seems to be the same as you showed . I am afraid if it’s fake or original?
They do special packaging around once a year. It was a golden bottle in 2019 and a red one in 2020 for Chinese New Year.
I agree with you - I dont know what is so great about this. I didnt notice a difference overnight, but when I stop using it, my skin just doesnt look as good & I keep reaching for it.
Same here, and still true many years after filming the video.
Which means you don't start using it to begin with. Because when you stop it makes the skin look not as great. Sounds like voodoo to me, in a not so nice way. Hooks you own and make it dependant on this formula.

I got a little sample size .23 oz to try but I have been too scared to cause of my Rosacea. I spilled a tiny little drop and put it on my hand and nothing happened. So far so good but that was my hand. Looks better then it did. You can feel the softness of the moisturizing effect. I live in the desert and my face is so dry. I tried coconut oil and it worked good too. My Mom said it made me face glow. But taking it my mouth made my over all skin look so much healthier and not parched. It's weird.
I am not a fan of Coconut oil on my face, but my skin isn´t dry.

I have not tried the SkinCeuticals product myself, but I don´t think you need both in the same routine. But if you want to use both, before or after would probably both work fine.
