Time for an ENCORE Mode! I'm starting to believe that the Heavy King was behind all the events of Mania Plus. I SWEAR that Master Emerald looked Purple! What do you guys think?? ;)
Kinda
Well i think that just like the 7 emeralds they ge power from master emeralds, those master emeralds are the cores for each chaos emerald.Heavy King betrayed Dr.Robotnik because he wanted to have this power and not his master,so with the help of the other minions he get the phantom ruby, with the help of illusion wizard they create fake Mighty and Ray and then Heavy King betrayed Robotnik and start's his plan,to steal the master emeralds
Either way, this time loop paradox theory of yours really depicts the fan base. :D
I think it wasn't Eggman this time since I believe it is heavy king who was behind it from the beginning and eggman himself could also be another illusion just like mighty and Ray who was never on the island from the start which means heavy king was the one pulling the strings and he could have possibly wanted to have full control over the ruby's powers like he did before while in his phantom king form but instead he decided not to when the ruby was in his hands and you may be wondering what was stopping him for doing it again well its because the ruby gave him and the other hard boiled heavies free will to do what ever they want and in this case the heavy king made a choice deciding if he should get ride of sonic tails and knuckles using the ruby's power but ultimately chose to trap them in a endless loop just to toy with them in the illusions he made since he has infinite power why not give the heros a false victory and its possible he will come up with a plan of his own to use it to benefit his true intentions
I bet this foreshadows one of two things:
1. A new classic game.
2. a connection to the next modern game
The bad ending, the the Encore colors and the purple Master Emerald do make sense. They are fooling us! Awesome "what if" video!
I like this theory, from the beginning of angle island you could say that the heavy king remade everthing in his image in order to get a second chance. This could also create a sequel to sonic mania where sonic breaks free of the heavy kings illusion. I think its a good follow up theory
Well, this would certainly fit Heavy King's character, since the whole thing about him is that he always stays in the shadows waiting for an oportunity to take advantage of a situation.
However, i like to think that the endless circle only repeated after the bad ending, and the good ending of Mania Plus ended with them escaping. Maybe just because i see it as too dark otherwise.
The Heavy King is too much lost potential; just look at that leaked unfinished part of the opening animation, it would have been so much cooler if he was actually flying around like that in-game, not just how he flies in Knuckles' Lava Reef Act 2.
I think forces kinda ruined the story of mania. The original story was going to be about heavies, after eggman gives up fighting sonic. But then Sega forced them to scrap the story and implement the phantom ruby.
637 H4CK3D N008
Seeing how the Phantom Ruby works differently in both games, i think they just told the Mania team about what the Ruby is and let them do the rest by themselves.
I know people like antagonizing Sonic Team, but i don't think they limited the devs.
All your theories are amazing and well thought out, you're amazing
THanks!
*Remembers the Sonic x Tails theory*
Oh no
@@metaridleyakathecunninggod1006 even that one is good
Heavy King is so obviously the mastermind. 'Titanic Monarch' LITERALLY MEANS 'Heavy King'. The Phantom Ruby Theme (which plays in the Credits and Ruby Delusions) also plays in TMZ Act 1+2. Also, the name of Act 1's music is BUILT TO RULE. That is obviously referencing the Heavies, and especially Heavy King. Also, we have the endings of Encore Mode and Mania Mode respectively where Heavy King is MORE PRESENT THAN DR. EGGMAN and ANY of the Hard-Boiled Heavies. In Mirage Saloon Zone, there are pictures on the walls with HEAVY KING SPECIFICALLY watching you. Funny, that in a 'MIRAGE' Saloon, we have the Heavy Magician turning into other characters and Heavy King watching you constantly... yep, something weird is definitely up with Mirage Saloon. Oh, but there’s more on Mirage Saloon! In the Encore Mode Ending, who do we see mysteriously appear behind the counter in front of ALL the main heroes? Funnily enough... HEAVY. KING. We even have Egg Reverie Zone, where Heavy King is the last one standing as he enters Pinch Mode, attempting to escape with the Phantom Ruby by distorting Reality itself. I hate how Forces just didn’t reference or mention the Heavy King at all and made a pointless new character, "Infinite" to use the Phantom Ruby instead. Why, SEGA, why couldn’t you have used the Heavy King? He was obviously meant to be the big bad of the Mania storyline, including Forces, but you threw it all away!!! FOR ACTUAL TRASH!!! I enjoy Sonic Mania a lot more than I would because of the implications that there is more to do with Heavy King than you realise at first glance. Also, in Adventures, Knuckles imagines Eggman, then Heavy King specifically yet again, and then Sonic stealing the Master Emerald. I believe that Heavy King is the TRUE MASTERMIND of the game, and coupled with your reasoning, I’d say it’s positive.
It's a good thing this theory got my attention, since I believe that Classic Sonic is the ONLY one stuck in the illusions. How so? Take the ending of Sonic Forces. After the Phantom Ruby was taken away from Modern Sonic's dimension and got back to Classic Sonic's, as Mania Plus brought out, the illusions taking place in Modern Sonic's dimension, the clones of the familiar villains, disappeared. Meaning the second that the Phantom Ruby got into Modern Sonic's dimension, any and all illusions in Classic Sonic's dimension must have disappeared as well. Which also means that Tails, Knuckles, and maybe Eggman (since he was in the Null Void/true final fight when Classic Sonic was sent into Modern Sonic's dimension, so I don't know about him.), were also freed. BUT since Classic Sonic was so close to the Phantom Ruby when he returned, along with the destroyed Hard Boiled Heavies (which were most likely destroyed by Knuckles and Tails after the illusion was gone) being close, both him and those Egg Robos were the only ones under the influence of the Phantom Ruby; With the Heavy King being in control of it thanks to being handed it by the Heavy Magician, who must have been the closest to Classic Sonic when the Phantom Ruby returned, thus being revived first.
(Hope the theory makes sense here. Couldn't really word it right thanks to outside distractions.)
It does seem weird that at the end of Angel Island, Heavy King gets the Phantom Ruby back and the rest of the Hard Boiled Heavies are restored, but unless you go to Heavy King's boss fight, he doesn't show up again until the good ending.
Nice vid as always. If Sonic Mania Plus gets a sequel, then Heavy King can get a hell of a boss fight!
Heavy king is so underrated.
Holy shit, didn't even notice the Master Emerald was Purple...
I love the Hard Boiled Heavies. I also am confused.(There's a Heavy King boss fight!?)

In normal mode, you can only fight the Heavy King as Knuckles. It essentially takes the place of the Heavy Rider fight. In Encore Mode, you can fight the Heavy King with any character. to do so, after you've climbed up the stairs with those exploding rock badnik falling down them, you'll come to a part of the floor that collapses when walked over. You can, immediately after falling down, take the right to fight the Heavy Rider, but taking a left will send you down a pipe and, after some platforming, you head to the Heavy King.

I don't know if it's just me but I personally refer the heavy King as "metal eggman"

it works fine, they came from Egg-Robos so, yeah that's pretty good
Did he get that from the sonic ova or did he come up with that himself?
yeah I got it from Sonic ova but instead of Robotnik it's Eggman

It would make for an interesting take of Metal Robotnik
I have a theory about Sonic Forces. What if Infinite was already under the Phantom Ruby's influence before he met Shadow. Maybe after Shadow beat him up, the pain and humiliation Infinite was put through caused him to be completely under the Phantom Ruby's grasp. Kind of like a drug or alcohol addiction. What if to Infinite, without the Phantom Ruby he's nothing, afraid, weak. Perhaps when he screamed in rage saying he wasn't weak, the Phantom Ruby finally got to his head and he thinks he needs the Phantom Ruby to become whole. Maybe he was so sensitive about being called weak is because he really does think he's weak without the Phantom Ruby's power.
To sum it up my theory is that Infinite's real backstory is that he grew to become so obsessed with the Phantom Ruby, it corrupted his mind. In my theory, the Phantom Ruby is basically the One Ring from Lord of The Rings.
Wasn't it already established that he got the phantom ruby after he met Shadow?
If you read the comics, it's shown that Infinite got a taste of the Phantom Ruby when his Jackal Squad attempted to ransack Robotnik's lab. While no he probably didn't directly get the Phantom Ruby until his defeat, I think he secretly had a fascination with the Phantom Ruby's power, which turned into an obsession which corrupted his sense of morality. I also think that's why he got so offended when Shadow said he was weak. In Infinite's eyes, he really is weak without the Phantom Ruby and he thinks he needs it to be "Infinite". Yes I think he changed his name to Infinite because he became so obsessed with the Phantom Ruby giving him power. I think he's addicted to the power of illusions and there's no going back.
I think this would be a clever reference to Sonic Heroes in which a robot double of an already existing character is the main antagonist. In Heroes the main enemy was Neo Metal Sonic. A robotic double of Sonic who is so full of himself that he seems himself as the original Sonic and not the clone. The Heavy King is basically a robotic version of Robotnik given that Egg Robo are among the numerous robots that are modeled in Robotnik's likeness. Also notice how at the bar in the true ending Heavy King is like "Surprise". Yeah. This whole thing I think was the Heavy King or as he's called now the Phantom King messing around with Sonic and his friends. If they make a Sonic The Hedgehog 5 (Mania was Sonic 4) they will probably elaborate more on the Heavy King and what his real goals are.
What’s your honest opinion on TWIP’s theory of Sonic Mania Plus being connected to Team Sonic Racing.
Lol I think it's a Stupid theory
GamerGuyd7Aces Which is exactly why it could be true. Come on, you know Sega would use any excuse to put classic characters in modern games, even if it's stupid.
I think Sonic mania adventures takes place after Classic Sonic and friends get out of their phantom time loop
I've always had a theory that it is a loop of Sonic mania plus then Sonic forces and each time the loop happens again Sonic games 1 chaos emerald and once he gets all seven of them the loop breaks and Sonic mania adventures happens
That was a good:
fiction hypothesis ("Fiction Hypothesis" is something I want trademark and use for future videos on my channel once I start doing my videos that express the oppinions I've been innadvertantly bottling up and no putting onto the RUclips),
I think it does a good job of explaining why the Heavy's are such a main focus of Sonic Mania.
Plus (no pun intended) the phantom ruby is the same color as TimeEater, who has the same energy color, and Memphiles was removed from the timestream.
The Nega Wisps also use the color purple, ...and... Solaris was a being who existed for the entire universe, so it's possible that more than just Earth was tapping into its power, and when Sonic and friends split Solaris into Mephiles and Iblis and then Destroyed Mephiles whilst sealing Iblis inside of Blaze and then in an other dimension: that was only for a sphere around the Earth.
The inclusion of Crisis City in Sonic 06 may've been a hint that Solaris had come back together and become TimeEater, to get revenge. Perhaps the Sonic Rush games are the result of Mephiles and Iblis trying to come back together.
After the Sonic Rush games, we got games like Sonic Colors, perhaps the Mother Wisp is like Princess Elise, and has like an uber duber ammount of power, and then Doctor Eggman Nega is a future version of the Eggman from the altered past created by Sonic Generations, who researched all of the timeline alterations and knows about as much as us fans, and he found a way to trigger the Sonic Rush games, and intended on losing to Sonic, because his end-game was not his secret evil plot, that: was a "secret" evil cover-plot.
Eggman Nega knew about Blaze's dimension and went there with purpose. He is the only doppelganger we see in that game if I'm not mistaken, because he is out of place. Then Sonic Rush Adventure just kindof happened perhaps unrelated to what the heroes were doing, as a kind of afterquake, but for the entire multiverse.
Then Mother Wisp and the Wisps from long long ago: they rediscovered the power of Solaris (who went to a different planet instead of earth this time so that """history""" would not repeat itself) once Solaris re-entered the spacetime continuum after recongealing.
Then Doctor Eggman Nega in the future and it has yet to happen, tracks down and enslaves Solaris, by combining them with a machine of somekind and leaves them cleverly for the Dr.Eggman from shortly after Sonic Colors to find. To prevent a paradox.
Then they use the unlimited ammount of power left by TimeEater to create a phantom ruby, which is basically a perfected mindcontrol-bomb so they can then procede to take over the world.
THE END😊
So perhaps... but perhaps... not.
Maybe Doctor Eggman Nega, enslaved Solaris or atleast Iblis: directly as it entered our timestream again; but then, used it as a way to get the Wisps powerful enough for regular Eggman to want to use them as powersources for his next evil scheme, because back when he was Classic Eggman, he remembered "Modern Eggman's" story, and knew that he needed to cause it, in order to prevent any paradoxes.
But then: did anything trigger it originally?
Did Eggman invent timetravel the first time all by himself, or where would the wisps have gotten their Hyper Go On Energy / "Wisp Energy" in that alternate timeline if in the present one they were to hypothetically have gotten it from Iblis?
Maybe Doctor Eggman had a crazy scheme to go back in time and double his number of chaos emeralds when he realized that: there were probably other beings in the multiverse who had gone that route, so he hatched a scheme to lure such a being into the timestream, so that he could snag all their power and save himself the work? Sounds Eggman-ee, and this whole thing is just that thing coming full circle.
Doctor Eggman Nega dresses so flashily, because after seeing how he became and what a failure he became in an alternate future: he decided to distance himself from that version of himself: as much as possible: hence the wardrobe change. Yet, out of fear of ceasing to exist: Classic Eggman: who I'm proposing is aka: "Eggman Nega" decided to play himself for the chump, and become the one calling the shots [by being the one to successfully ensare and robotosize TimeEater aka Iblis (but then to bait his future self back into thinking they had done it together so that they could work together again on another fake evil scheme to create the phantom ruby and rule over the future together by putting classic Sonic into a trance/illusion and then robotosizing the past and using an army of robotosized classic characters to take over the future alternate timeline earth at which point he will alter TimeEaters behavior protocol to have it attack/kill & or robotosize both other eggmans leaving him to rule a perfectly subservient world of his own making)] (perhaps they briefly shared time together in "Sonic 3 & Knuckles" hence why there were 14 chaos/"super" emeralds for Knuckles in that game before they had the better idea of simpling trapping and controlling a world eating monster).
Eh? Eh?
Not bad?
Basically Eggman Nega is classic eggman "grown up" from an unseen Sonic Generations like crossover (possibly "Sonic 3 & Knuckles"), and has been puppeteering things from the shadows since Sonic Rush and Sonic Colors.
He allowed Mother Wisp to obtain a power like "Princess Elises".
He allowed Mephiles and Iblis to recombine but robotosized Mephiles.
Remember: Mephiles had a purple chaos emerald, perhaps there was enough of mephiles in that emerald for it to be snatched-up and have a clone made from?
Then it may've been used as a vector to control Iblis, maybe Blaze also "lost" her power but to avoid raising suspicion: Doctor Eggman Nega had this extradimensional diety maintain the illusion of power in Blaze by donating the small portion of power that she tends to usually access to her.
Before the New_Solaris (aka TimeEater) with Eggman-Robotosized&Mindcontrolled: Mephiles fused to a mindless powerful Iblis: goes and gives this power to the Wisps, and engineers a scenario to get Eggman of the present and Eggman of the past to conquer both timelines for him, so that he can then undermine them and take control once its finished.
With no one suspecting a single thing, because of his cleverness.
Only Sonic got a peak behind the curtain in Sonic Rush, but he didn't guess correctly.
Modern Eggman doesn't yet know that parrallel timelines can diverge from timetravel, so he just goes farther back in time so as to re-introduce himself to a slightly younger Eggman from Sonic2 (instead of Sonic 3).
Nega Eggman, just sits back lets history repeat itself. Neither other Eggman suspecting a thing.
The Version of Classic Eggman who grew into Eggman Nega:
was not in the universe when Solaris was initially enticed into it.
Hence why they were the only ones who knew, and hence why Crisis City shows up in Generations despite Sonic having no memory of it.
Those were New_Solarisis' memories in a constructed space outside of the universe.
Eggman Nega could also be how the other eggmans were able to get home after their big long chat, post-credits.
Maybe he made some portals "just appear", after their conversation had reached a point he was happy with🤔
When the Sonics "Defeated" TimeEater, he was just faking an injury (so the other eggmans would believe it so the Sonics would believe it so he could get the two eggmans alone together without showing his hand)
Overall I'm happy this game got a physical release for the Switch. Sonic 3 & Knuckles was just one of those games that really needed a sequel and I'm glad that they finally made a sequel to the best game in the franchise.
Maybe Egg Robo from Knuckles Story from Sonic 3 & Knuckles survived and became the Heavy King/Phantom King.
Dude you're a genius
What if Mighty the armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel we're actually on the island but were actually trapped in their own sort of false reality by the Phantom Ruby. They were used as bait by the heavy King to lure Sonic, Tails, Robotnik and Knuckles to the island to be trapped in a false reality as well. This would make sense because why would they use Mighty and Ray to be bait for Sonic and Knuckles because they could have used anything like birds or squirrels or something but they used Mighty and Ray which means that they are real but they could be trapped in their own reality going through the same Loops just as much as Sonic, tails, Robotnik, and Knuckles. Why this would be the case I don't know but I do know that there is still a lot of inconsistencies and I think that my theory might explain them.
I think that they were always in the loop, because of people replying the games and you can't get the exact same run over and over again, to add to this think of romhacks, mods and dlc as changes to the timeline
Remember when in Sonic Generations Classic Sonic faces Metal Sonic in the bad future timeline of stardust speedway?Well, lets just say cause mania sonic is classic sonic, this is that bad future.

Okay the purple Master Emerald one is a stretch, that's just a mistake since it uses the same colors as the stage around it and it's purple in Encore mode.
Nathaniel Grizzle how do you know it’s a mistake? Lol did Christian Whitehead say this?
@@GamerGuyd7Aces Well oversight would have been a better term, none of the stages weren't built with the Encore palettes in mind so something that's suppose to remain green (the master emerald) will change when the green section of the palette it's using changes.
There's also the possibility that they allowed it to look that way on purpose, as a sort of foreshadowing. However, it's hard to tell, since every game has its glitches.

This is so realistic it's not even funny.

Marcus Fiandaca care to explain?
Please do elaborate. I'd certainly be interested in hear your side.
I think the "you're too cool" ending is meant to show that sonic and co. have finally escaped the messy illusion that was mania mode and encore mode. My reasoning for this is in encore mode, it starts in angel island, the only playable stage that is not recolored. There you save either mighty or ray.(One of which is an illusion depending on who you choose). After they are saved, heavy king uses the ruby to send you to encore green hill. My theory is that Eggman and all the recolored encore stages are an illusion, which would explain why titanic monarch is in encore mode. Then, in the good ending, all 5 characters go super to send the illusion Eggman back into the ruby, along with the fake titanic monarch. Afterwards, in the ending screen, sonic and all his friends go back to mirage saloon, which also happens to be colored normally, like angel island. This means sonic broke the illusion, and saved mighty and ray from being stuck in the process. Then heavy king appears as one last tease for the game, to which it tells you, "You're Too Cool!", rewarding you for helping sonic save the day.
"sonic and all his friends go back to mirage saloon, which also happens to be colored normally"
Mirage Saloon was simply at night, hence it's coloring. If you recall, in Mania mode, Act 1 showed the stage going from morning to day. In Encore, it's going from evening into night. The color palette even changes mid-level in both cases to show this.
@@MSOGameShow My point was mirage saloon in the end was the only instance aside from angel island being it's normal color. Mirage saloon is colored different when you play through it in encore mode, but not in the ending cutscene, due to the fact that sonic escaped the illusion in the end.
What if they destroy the phantom ruby and then it turns into sonic boom because mania sonic and boom sonic since both of them have the dropdash
