    For question 5 you can do 320 divided by 4 (32 divided by 4 = 8, add on the 0 = 80) then divide the £1 into 4 = 0.25, then add them together to get £80.25.

      Thanks for your help- I passed the second time around. It was much easier the second time. My advice to anyone is practice, practice practice! Don't rely on one method, use lots of different ways to do it. Get a partner to read you questions. Use videos, get a specific book, use a maths app to learn times tables. You can do this!

Good luck with your new career.

    Can you please check if you or me have made a mistake in calculations? In 38:55, we know that in Class 1 we have 25 students in total (20% of them sat for Trigonometry), so in Class 1, there are 5 students who sat for Trigonometry. Since 25 people in total sat for the Trigonometry test, we assume that the rest 20 students sat for trigonometry in Class 2. So class 2 has a total of 160 students.

    • @qtsmathstutor9925
      @qtsmathstutor9925  6 лет назад

      Hi Maria the model solution shows the correct answer, 40; however there are a number of methods you can use to get this answer. 5 people sit the Trigonometry test in both classes, there isn't 20 in class 2 as you stated, this is where your calculation went wrong. So if 12.5% is equivalent to 5 people then 1% is 0.4 people so 100% is 40 people. This is just a slightly different way to the model solution, hopefully one of the methods now makes sense.

    Question 11 - what about second part of the question “any two supervisors do not manage...”.
    Does it not change a number of supervisors - for each 3 supervisors there will be 6 analysts. What mean there is 8 supervisors with team of 6 people and another 16 supervisors without people, so it gives us 24 supervisors and final of 72 people in the office (48analysts + 24supervisors)??
    Could you check that for me please?! Thank you

    • @omasmaa3291

    • @qtsmathstutor9925
      @qtsmathstutor9925  5 лет назад

      The median is the value that the person in the middle achieves. With cumulative frequency you can half the total frequency, in this case 50, which tells us the 50th person has the median mark. You then use the curve to see what mark the median person achieved, in this question it was 60.

      Hi, the intention of the video explanations is to carefully go through each step so that every person can understand them. Obviously when putting these steps together in an exam you have to do them at a faster pace. The objective of our explanations isn't to prove the problems can be solved within the 18 second time limit, everyone accepts that this can be done otherwise the DfE wouldn't put them in the test. We want to help people grasp each and every step of every problem and then the speeding up process is done through practising many more questions.
