- Listen to “Cold War,” the main theme from Jack Wall’s original score for Call of Duty®: Black Ops Cold War.
Music composed and produced by Jack Wall (www.jackwall.net), featuring the LA Singers and Nashville Music Scoring.
Jack wall never disappoints
Amen
God damn right
True
You're definitely not wrong! Even though I couldn't stand Black Ops 3's story Jack Wall's soundtrack for that was incredible! Every soundtrack he's done so far for Call of Duty hasn't disappointed!!!💯👍
First Adrenaline, then Sand Castle. now this gem.
The music is so well made. The Soviet chanting with the American 80s guitar faintly in the background. And there’s a mounting pressure the entire time, just like the Cold War. The loading scene is even cooler. The scenes have the most elite troops getting their guns, loadouts, and getting ready to go for their missions. There are different pictures and there’s a pic of the Moscow Washington hotline. The game’s atmosphere and vibe is so great.
@@TurtleButter at literally 0:01the opening riff kind of sounds like an electric guitar with that kind of whiny bass sound. It doesn’t seem to prominent, but I feel like it gives an 80s vibe to it.
@@TurtleButter yeah, if you played the campaign, the opening scene starts with some electric guitar. I think it’s so great at displaying American music culture in the 80s. This soundtrack is so great!
That’s not guitar, that’s an arpeggiated synth sequence with a filter sweep, even more iconically 80s than guitar though

@Dre / waw took place before BO1 and this is taking place after BO1 so not really but it’s still kinda close
@Dre / how sir 😂 WaW was in the Second World War , this game is in the Cold War .
@Dre / not really read your comment 😂 you said ( the same time )
@Dre / the Cold War starting 2 years after the end of WWII isn’t really relevant when this game takes place in the 80s. Nearly 40 years after WWII ended is not ‘around the same time’ especially in a century that saw as much cultural change as the 20th. The similarity in sound to WaW comes from foreign backing vocals and Treyarch’s general ability to write superbly ambient and fitting soundtracks
I love how the song basically follows the emotions of the player throughout the campaign and how shocking and intense it feels. def one of my new fav cod themes since bo2
The game may not be perfect but the music is always epic and memorable
I love that is stays on during online and while you're searching for games this the music.

Good thing is, it’s still there to enjoy it. I do, now more than ever actually. It feels complete, it *is* complete. Multiplayer is really good, zombies is an absolute blast (especially Outbreak). Man… What a fucking game. Took me the first 2 seasons for me to enjoy the MP, but I’m so glad I kept giving it chances. I knew there was something great behind it, and I was 100% correct.

In 1975 the liberal camp suffered its most humiliating defeat of all: the Vietnam War ended with the North Vietnamese David overcoming the American Goliath. In quick succession communism took over South Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. On 17 April 1975 the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh, fell to the Khmer Rouge. Two weeks later, people all over the world watched as helicopters evacuated the last Yankees from the rooftop of the American Embassy in Saigon. Many were certain that the American Empire was falling. Before anyone could say ‘domino theory’, on 25 June Indira Gandhi proclaimed the Emergency in India, and it seemed that the world’s largest democracy was on its way to becoming yet another socialist dictatorship.
Liberal democracy increasingly looked like an exclusive club for ageing white imperialists, who had little to offer the rest of the world, or even their own youth. Washington presented itself as the leader of the free world, but most of its allies were either authoritarian kings (such as King Khaled of Saudi Arabia, King Hassan of Morocco and the Persian shah) or military dictators (such as the Greek colonels, General Pinochet in Chile, General Franco in Spain, General Park in South Korea, General Geisel in Brazil and Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek in Taiwan).
Despite the support of all these colonels and generals, militarily the Warsaw Pact had a huge numerical superiority over NATO. In order to reach parity in conventional armament, Western countries would probably have had to scrap liberal democracy and the free market, and become totalitarian states on a permanent war footing.
