The college I went to had a huuge student body, so I've always wondered about how it'd differ if it were smaller. Sounds like you can really get to know everyone 💕

Excellent video. For the prospective applicants from sunny California, please let us know how the winters are at Dartmouth. Thanks.

Kudos to those that can but getting stuck in the middle of nowhere in my 20’s is a recipe for a nervous breakdown or alcoholism. Congratulations on your admission

Hello, I'm from India, I am expecting a positive decision from Dartmouth as a transfer applicant(will be entering 2nd year). I also have a confirmed seat at UCL London in BASc program
Will there be a significant difference in feasibility of availing oppurtunities between areas such as New Hamsphire in US vs London in UK. Is that difference between rural and urban areas significant which led you to pick uni in an rural area?
If you had to choose between an ivy league such as Brown or Dartmouth vs UCL what would you choose excluding the tuition fee as a considerate factor?
In U.S a lot of colleges / unis are more liberal arts based while it is not necessarily so in the U.K. Its common for ppl in U.S to change their major atleast once before graduation? In U.K one does need certain amount of clarity as to what they want to pursue. Do you feel like liberal art institutions at U.S offer more breadth allowing students to explore when compared to U.K which might give them an edge in terms of whether any subsequent career choices are more likely to be globally optimal or meaningful? This is because you would have a broader knowledge of the landscape the world has to offer.
    OR
Do you think London would provide a better horizon to seek more opportunities when compared to New Hamsphire?
Though D-plan is flexible does the short terms due to quarter systems often leave students burnt out that they can't really make use of off terms ?
For the distribution requirements, do you feel like they were helpful or do you feel like you did'nt really see a point in completing a course which doesn't really fit your majot?
Sorry for too many questions since I come from a second world country these things make a huge difference in my college experience
    Thanks for the video

hi there! thanks for your comment. UCL and Dartmouth are both incredible schools, u should be super proud of urself for having those as options! i also applied to the UK schools and was picking between london and NH. In the end, i figured i wanted to stay in the US post-college, so studying in the US made the most sense. although being in london is fantastic, the US has many more cities to explore, and i think being within the US college system helps a great deal with getting connections domestically.
while new hampshire itself is quite rural compared to london and may seem to offer less opportunities, dartmouth has an abundance of research opportunities and jobs on campus that can lead to jobs elsewhere! also, i really do value the liberal arts education and the flexibility with your major as opposed to the fixed, unchangeable nature of the UK university system. for example, at dartmouth, i am currently pursuing a computer science major modified with digital arts, doubled with a film major, with a minor in russian. this is a cluster of subjects i could never study at the same time in a school in england. having grown up in england, i do love the homeland! but i can see how important *choice* is in deciding my future.
about the d-plan - i definitely see people utilizing it for internships, study abroads, what have you. it might mean you don’t see your friends for a while, but it can certainly be used productively!!
of course, both schools have their pros and cons. i thought i would be in a city for college, but i’m coming to really love the community here. good luck with your decision - and remember, there isn’t one right or wrong answer!!! everything will work out in the end and you’ll be in a great spot either way :)) hope to see u in the fall, but if not, good luck in london ~
