In 2015, the Swiss watchmaker launched the Terrestis Collection as part of a quasi-relaunching of the brand with the sole aim of rounding out the company's catalog. Fortis had long built a solid reputation of with a selection of well-built, reliable tool watches that covered three specific categories: space, air, and water. With the Terrestis collection, they intended to round out their catalog with an offering of 1940-inspired classic and refined dress watches that would represent "land". Four watches were part of this collection (with different variations), the 19Fortis AM being the first of the series.
