Welcome back to another installment of Project Acte. My 1993 Honda Acty Kei van is being converted to electric. In this episode we're talking Tesla batteries, how I bought them, how I'm planning to contain them, how I'm going to mount them to the van, and then how I'm managing them.

Hey, could you share some more insights into the design of the battery box? I'm curious about how they are held inside the box not to move around when driving. And how you managed to hermetically seal the boxes. Much appreciated 👍

Great questions. It would be hard to estimate the amount of hours but it’s in the ballpark of 2,000 hours. But I’m genuinely a guy who started with nothing knowledge or equipment wise so for others it goes a lot quicker. The hardest part was the batteries I’d say. Figuring out the boxes, mounts, the wiring for them, and then the plumbing, all of that was so so much work.

Im doing a similar build where I need to mount 2 modules under the hood and 4 in the trunk of an MG Midget.
Problem solving! Wicked stuff can’t wait to see vid of you rolling down the road when it’s done. I have a VW Rabbit pickup and would be fun to do a similar project for a mountain bike mini truck

I would have been soooooo upset with that seller. At least they were accommodating but still…
They were really very good about it all, but it was definitely frustrating.
What a clown show. At least your battery seller continued to try to make it right, but, man, you think he'd be interested in checking the quality of what he sent before he sent it. A lot easier.
It was a bit of a mess. Murphy's law comes to mind. The funny ending to that story was that to deliver those final four batteries the seller hand delivered them all the way from out of state.
