Get ready to have something crazier than it can possibly be. A Black Metal basis, enhanced by brass instruments, piano, accordion, Theremin, etc. surrounded by a nightmarish atmosphere : all creating a depraved and grotesque circus. L’Ame Noire (The Dark Soul) of Pensées Nocturnes is taking shape and will follow you.

This is one of the best albums released in 2019 that I've listened to. I love the cabaret elements combined with black metal
This is bizarre. This is avant-garde. This is AWESOME.
One of the most creative albums I've ever heard within extreme music. Right up there with Elvenefris by Lykathea Aflame, Obscura by Gorguts, and Son of Sulphur by Crowpath. (Feel free to chime in with your own.)
luxury in death by imperial triumphant comes to mind.
Savage Sinusoid By IGORRR
H.A.Q.Q. by Liturgy can be added.
Highly recommend Eisregen - Krebstkolonie
Great time to be alive. Music is amazing if you know where to find it...
One of my top 10 of 2019
I've followed this band since its beginnings, never dissapoints. Hope to see them playing in South America someday
Sounds like so much time put into one album. Great stuff
Ok,fortunately I have to admit, that my assumptions about this album, based on first 2 singles, were totally wrong. The rest of the album seems much more deliberate and there's purpouse in everything and there's a lot of those amazing slooow parts and the solos for the instruments with weird dissonant background and a lot of experimenting with vocals...I'm actually amazed! And I'm really curious about the lyrics actually. I hope, they could make them public sometime soon
Nice Artificial Brain avatar dude !
Grotesque and disturbing. I love it.
I love so much
Theremin is another very cool instrument
So freaking awesome
Pure fucking madness
Piece of art
simplemente hermoso, saludos desde chile
Not as good as Grotesque but still better than most lifeless unoriginal drivel being produced. These guys get it!
Sinceramente..
Something about this album reminds me of a trip to the carnival with Korova.
@Le Stryge m'a conduit jusqu'ici. Avec plaisir!
@@Beelzebuth écoute Igorrr & Ruby My Dear - Alain
contrabassoon in the opening? either way absolutely one of my favorite albums of all time
Vivement !

Gitanes, that's easy. Gauloises are like the French version of Sovereign, and I'm p sure the latter are just made from whatever falls off the B+H conveyor belt that they sweep up off the floor at the end of the day.

Peste Noire.
Sorta
Diapsiquir.
Amazing avant-garde black metal/neoclassical from France. It reminds me of A Forest of Stars and Sigh, with a small amount of Deathspell Omega and Imperial Triumphant
Am I the only one longing for Pensée Nocturne's early works ? Vacuum was as masterpiece, but from then on each release became more and more cacophonic. This is probably an intentional change, still...
I disagree. I own and love all of his albums, but Vacuum would be my least favorite actually. Only because it's essentially a depressive black metal record with some hints of his unique musical nature here and there (classical/blues). It sounds pretty similar to other depressive black metal records. Starting with Grotesque and onwards, that's when he really started to make his music unique and stand out in the black metal scene. This album is by far his most outlandish, extravagant, and avant-garde in my opinion and it's my favorite album of his for that reason. I can't think of another band out there that sounds like this and that's why I love Pensees Nocturnes. I really hope he continues making his future musical releases in this style...
@@sandercohen1371 I'll give you that, PN definitely has its own style and that's a good thing (Vacuum included, I did not think that it sounds similar to other depressive black metal records - that was why I loved it). But then "sounding different" does not necessarily mean that it sounds good. "Avant-garde" is often used to justify deviant practices in black metal. Then again, maybe PN is not black metal anymore. To me, from Grotesque on, PN's music started to get much more chaotic and less musical. This is probably a personal preference, but I really liked the classical influences. From the top of my head, there are a few bands or musical projects that tried something "different". Go listen to "La Rumeur des Chaînes- Erythème", "Le Scrawl - Boiling Point
", "Zeal & Ardor - Come On Down", "Igorrr - ieuD
"
I also miss the early stuff. It was also quite unique and PN left a void that no one has filled since when they changed styles. That being said, I do love the new stuff too. I don't want to say which period is 'the better one.' I just wish they'd make new music in both styles because I really like the stuff these guys make.
Vacuum is a great album, yes. But when someone prefers it over new stuff, it's for being more "Depressive Back Metal". There's a lot of bands like that.
New albums are a identity search, I think.
Golden age of ridicule
Technically impressive, musically worthless.
why is it worthless? sounds pretty fun to me lol
Well, the musical value could not be defined neither by you nor by me, something I can not deny, there is music and there is expression, with that it is enough to be art
It's fine to say that this is not your cup of tea, but to call something "worthless" because you don't like it is both pretentious and assholish. You're not the arbiter of what artistic expression is worthy and what isn't, so please, keep your petty judgments to yourself.
not unlike ur mom 😃
Wow. Du Black Metal Circus. Nan c'est pas mal.
