This guy is a breath of fresh air for the sport. He makes it ok to not fall into the trap of having to use the best and most expensive gear to catch em. Keep doing your thing.

I enjoyed that interview most of all so far Dave. I was in Knoxville at his first classic and saw him there....and have been a fan ever since. Matt's a hammer. I love his low tech approach to the fishing. That just exemplifies his ability.🔨💥

Dave, be honest with I didn’t know what to think about you when you first came on the bass scene. After what these shows I realize you are as genuine of a person as there is. Being a huge Megabass fan and owning almost the full lineup of the new P5 Destroyers, I absolutely LOVE Matt’s approach! Makes me second guess my investment choices on Bass equipment 🤣 Although I can say the Megabass gear “may” actually appreciate in value. Enjoyed seeing Matt back in the same holes I fish at Chickamauga. I was in Possum Creek and saw Matt chucking the big Megabass 8” Magdraft but tell anyone… 😉

My opinion may not be popular but I do not like MR. I think he acts like everything a bass pro should NOT be. I mean come on the stupid fur coat and water/beer smashing and blowing and all. When did BASS turn into Gangsta bassmasters from the Hood? I guarantee the.old school bassmaters like Clunn, Parker, Martin and Houston who.paved the way for this sport cringe. I don't dispute his fishing abilities ..I mean he did qualify for the Elites ..but... I think a little professionalism is in order when you achieve that status. This is not a personality..Swindle has a personality...this is someone acting like an idiot and embarrassing the sport IMO!

TNbasser1 I respect your opinion but you said act a couple times in your comment and I see how one would think so but trust me that's Matt 100% lol. I've lived on Ky. Lake for 50 yrs and fished in more tournaments that i can recall to count against him and ya know how we all hang out at weigh-in and all . He's a respectful fella and ya know how some guys fishing local get upset or mad at times , Matt isn't one of them guys . I'm not taking up for him shoot he's taken quite a few truck notes from me lol . But if you actually met with him you'd like him but if you didnt it woudn't be because of him disrespecting ya or anything ya know. Again I respect your opinion I read your comment and just wanted to try explain a little more about him. He's the guy that will stop and help ya if you broke down on side of road or help ya on the lake during a tournament. I agree can't dispute his fishing abilities but I did for longtime I just thought he was one of them guys where it seems the fish just come to ya know lol . or just lucky. But I had to do away with that thought after 5 or 6 tournaments . He paid or we paid his bills just fishing tournaments. Some guys are just Blessed by God with that crazy ability I fish on average 170 days a year and I like yourself I'm sure know I can catch fish but them guys are always it seems on a different level ense i say Blessed by the Lord . Some may dislike him because he doesn't act if that makes any sense lol didn't sound like it did. Goood safe fishing to ya TNbasser1 .. I predict Ky. Lake be back better than ever in 3 yrs . Never seen as many baitfish due to insane spawn this year. Grass is still gone but the bait is plenty
