I feel honored to have been able to watch this process. I don't own a snake, nor will I ever own one. Yet, I believe they are beautiful and a necessary part of the ecosystem. Thanks VK for all you do.
Hahaha i love this guy. I also sat down to watch just a little bit about the milking process and ended up watching the whole video. All in all it only felt like maybe 10 minutes. Fantastic video man.
Surprised to see this video. Almost never thought i'd see you milking your snakes actually. But it's good to see you participating in the research process. Hopefully that didn't stress out the little guys too much and glad everyone is safe. Looked kind of dicey at times, specially with those little ones.
What a beautiful viper (the larger snake), the color, the energy and the strength beautiful and deadly with ultimate power! A do not mess with me snake! Awesome video. Thank you for making it interesting as always Al. :-)
Awesome to see this video. Ive seen this done only a couple times by people who are less than reputable. Seeing the proper techniques used and taking your time when pinning. Im sure you yourself have seen far too many show boaters and know it alls in the venomous aspect of the hobby . Great video again VK, I have an amazing respect for the education and work that goes into keeping these animals.
Ive said it before and ill say it again, viper keeper you are a credit to our hobby, I have such respect for the way you handle your animals and for the knowledge you have. Thank you for uploading all the videos you do and trying to educate people. Best regards Jono
My phone slithered out of my hands while watching this and it scared the shit out of me. I slapped the shit out of it thinking it was a snake. Hahaha... this is better than most horror films I've seen in a long while.
Starting at 34:30 there's a syringe with hypodermic needle that looks like it's full of something. Is that for you in case you get bitten? What's in there exactly?
Kristin is a great friend of mine and we talk often she is just the most amazing and intelligent lady and she and Jim have really dedicated a ton of time and work to further research :o)
You are SO Unique, Thank You...You are a very busy man & you can still provide this valuable education :) I live in Australia, I have a Blue Tongue & Bearded Dragon that I have raised from 6weeks & are now 4years...I have never liked snakes but I am obsessed with lizards :) Your channel has become my favourite subscription, I love your videos, your intelligent perspective & your commitment to education! I know your disclaimer by heart & eagerly await each new video ;-) I will never own a snake but you have opened my eyes :) Thank You again, You are a very smart individual that I learn SO much from!
Love your videos, I have constrictors for now, two Ball pythons and a Boa. It seems to me that the most beautiful snakes are the most dangerously venomous ones haha. My favorite one has to be your Gaboon Vipers, they are real beauties.
Love your videos! Just found it a couple weeks ago, I've been binge watching all of your videos. Great content and educational. Thank you for uploading them!
I myself am from pa. I'm adopted and starting to think you're my dad... Lol. Personalities are literally the same. I dislike people myself, but have millions of reasons.
First , I now understand the stress to the animal that comes with the extraction process . And I am glad you don't . It probably would be hard to let Slinky roam about if you extracted venom . Second . I got a surprize in the mail box . My calendar is here and its excellent . Thank you , I'm hooked , you print them and it will become my annual present to myself . Thanks again .
VK ,for years I remember the information given to public by the TV programmes etc said snakes had poor eyesight and only saw shapes or quick movements, but having followed your videos and other (supposed ) informed shows or people ,I is obvious your snakes in their boxes behind the glass do watch what you are doing and move accordingly. Also the way they follow movements at times I think they can see far better than they are credited. What do you say Al ?, Thanks for your sharing your snakes with us!
Couldn't you just put a plastic ball with film around it on the end of a stick and get a better venom extraction on the first bite without all the risky handling?
Incredible video Al !!! I really enjoyed watching this one and learning more about venom extractions !! A great personal friend of mine Ray F. Hunter does venom extractions and I've always enjoyed watching his videos and learning more about the procedure and all that it consist of. Also love watching Jim at the Kentucky Reptile Zoo do venom extractions. Something I would never do myself because I've never worked with venomous snakes but I love learning more about them every opportunity I get.
I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos. You have an amazing collection of snakes and seem like a genuinely good person. One question though. It seems like a lot of your snakes have stuck sheds. Are husbandry needs impossible to maintain with such a diverse collection?
I have watched a whole bunch of your videos. I love the content that you make. And after this video I know now why even more so. Gun enthusiast also. You rock viperkeeper!
curious if you could do a video on your thoughts and opinions of the guy who has been steadily increasing the venom in his blood by I jetting Co trolled doses and letting go the snakes bite him over the years. He's working with a scientist to publish empirical data on how he has built up a resistance. What do you see coming out of this in terms of research and new ways to treat or prevent effects of snake bites and venom?
Hi Viperkeeper, I know nothing of snakes but the mechanical engineer in me must ask, why don't you use a snake tong or another tool that holds the head rather than using your hand? Thanks again for the response, I'm just curious if there is a design flaw in the snake tongs. It seems like there should be a better and easier solution to extracting venom.
When the snake got the venom on the handle and you were touching it later, what measures did you take to ensure all the venom made it off of your hand? Is there a special soap to use?
I can tell this guy really loves what he does.
7:27 "BIATCH" xD love this guy
MX :-)
When they bite the plastic i love hearing the satisfying pop noise it makes
I feel like a winner after watching 20+ minutes of this without freaking out. You sir, have balls of steel and tons of love for your hobby.
Not hobby... career!
The gentleman has my utmost admiration. It is a very valuable service he provides and does so at much personal risk.
"What don't do that now all the venom's on the stick... You toad." OMFG IM DYING xD
"I'm gonna take you out, biotch" 😂
I feel honored to have been able to watch this process. I don't own a snake, nor will I ever own one. Yet, I believe they are beautiful and a necessary part of the ecosystem. Thanks VK for all you do.

Not a snake expert so I was wondering if it hurt the snake when he just tossed it into the container after milking its venom.
That must be a nerve racking job.

Snake tongs can hurt the snakes
I'm clearly the only one that thought venom was red.
This guy seems so nervous. But I'm amazed that he's got so many snakes. o.o

9:11, is that a snake on your lap? Or are you just happy to see me.
Who is the "friendliest" snake you have? like, will let you put your hand near him/her and you won't get bitten?
Awesome video.

Mr and Mrs Viper Keeper hey I’m finishing watching this video

Are these samples for Dr. Bryan Frye?
Yes
