When you worked with that Black Mamba, Man that would have made me VERY nervous. You are literally staring death in the face with a snake like that. And you clearly have the skills and patience to deal with that on the regular. Salutes to you!
hahahaha that's so funny at the end when the mamba was like "and FUCK OFF!" (mouth wide open) hahaha! I can't believe he was just sitting there like that!
Damn, that mamba was really trying to give you a run for your money! It really shows why this kinda stuff should only be attempted by experienced professionals like yourself. Great video as always!
"He was watching the whole thing going 'Holy Crap!'" So were all the rest of us too, so were all the rest of us!! Mrs Vyper Keeper said "Happy Mamba." I watched this Mothers Day evening 2016. Happy Mothers Day Mrs Vyper Keeper!!
Wow, Al, this is some of the best mamba footage on the internet. Thank you for your time and talent on this one! Sacrificing your sanity for the sake of getting these moments on video goes well appreciated.
I was tilting my phone and moving around... some how trying to attempt to help you get that black mamba into the bucket, even though it was obviously futile.
I just love the gaboon viper. I wish I could have the training to work with one. The gaboon imo is the best looking venomous creature there is. I never knew about them until I started watching viper keepers channel, and boy am I glad that I did.
"One bad ass boy" Says the dude that just finished handling a snake while talking to him like he was a little kitten instead of a 3' long black mamba. Sure you didn't just catch your reflection, viperkeeper?
I think the Gaboon vipers, rhino vipers and puff adders are my 3 favourite snakes. I know ppl go for the cobras and mambas but those 3 would be the ones i'd like to raise by far. Absolutely beautiful snakes
I was going to say that the Gaboon is my favorite too, what a beautiful pattern. It even has the "passing lines" on it's back. They look like the lines in the middle of the road. I'm still a fan of King Cobras. I also just like a Diamond Back Rattler.
I'll leave the black mambas to you. They're incredibly fast! My female bitis rhinoceros is quick enough. The day I received her, she was in a deli cup with electrical tape wrapped around it. Not wanting to find out if they can bite through, I used tin snips to open the cup up. It was an experience. Love the puff adders!
I've noticed that you always have some problems with lock up snakes in the bucket. I know that vibrant, orange colour is for some reason (for people), but best option are the buckets made from solid, black plastic. My snakes just jump to that type of containers by themselfs, trying to hide. Makes theirs and my life much easier.
I've watched hundreds of you videos over the last few years, I've never seen this one. The Black Mamba is the epitomy of venomous snakes in my book and this video proves why. Large, aboreal, lightning fast, aggressive (defensive?) , and of course lethal. The last snake I want to be locked alone in a room with, and you do it on a daily basis. I salute your bravery! Stay safe!
I just love the big boofy head of the Gaboon Viper's and their googly eyes. They just make me smile, even though you just know these can absolutely put a hurt on you, if you pay close attention to body posture and language that minimizes the risks of that happening. The baby puffies were just darling! Loved the video of those. Now... I absolutely love Mambas of all sorts but that Mamba at the end? O_o Holy moly! I do hope to find out in a later video that this guy was sent to a zoo with one of those boxes that switches them to another place safely preventing contact with people for the most part so they don't get bit. He's the worst of all your Mambas! ~Tina
Thanks again for another great video. I love those gaboons. I'm glad you keep those amazing serpents so I can just admire them via internet. I live on the Korean peninsula and we have a number of venomous snakes here, I would love it if you did an episode on our snakes, but I'm sure I will enjoy anything you do. Thanks again from Korea,
Those little puff adders were so cute! That black mamba has no shortage of attitude! Appreciate your perseverance because that's the only way to win, but yikes!
I learned something about Rhino Vipers! That's amazing how high quality the video is, and how absolutely beautiful your gaboon boy and pretty much all of your snakes are. I find it fascinating how attractive death is sometimes. As for the black mamba, good job wrestling her, and I'm glad you weren't bit!
That black mamba did not seem to tire as fast as some of your other snakes, he actually looked like he was still going pretty strong there when you got the lid on.
Black Mambas are just scary as hell. like you've just passed your driving test and your first car to drive is a Ferrari, and you have to drive it at top speed and not crash it, that's similar to handling a black mamba. I could hear your stammered breathing, you were scared there Al, but full respect to you. I love snakes, but you wouldn't have got me in the room!
Al, watching your videos is one of my favourite things to do to wind down in my free time! So thanks for posting this over xmas as I seem to have a lot of free time! :)
I am so glad that you share your collection with us. Thanks to you I am now aspiring to become a herpotologist and work with snakes as a career. I have always found them so fasinating but up until I found your videos I was going to become a chemist. You make amazing videos and I hope you continue to create them for a long time. Sorry if I spelled anything incorrectly, my phone doesn't tell me when I do.
I believed you before, but that black mamba utterly demonstrated that YEARS OF EXPERIENCE ARE REQUIRED TO SAFELY HANDLE VENOMOUS SNAKES, especially something as long and agile as that guy.
Nice Bitis Al! I really liked the little arietans, he gave an awesome big boy puff for the camera lol. Thankfully that polylepis wasn't seriously peeved. I'd hate to see that go down, but I couldn't stop watching if it did lol.
I went to a training class a few weeks ago and the man who was teaching was a veterinary student early in his life. he showed a picture of him holding a fairly large gaboon viper in his lap and my blood ran cold the instant he showed it. He explained that the specimen was a venomoid but did retain it's fangs. he was very casual about it. all I could think of is Al commenting that sometimes venomoids can still produce small amounts of venom. some people are scary.
I had to go check myself after seeing the mamba strike. I think the most gorgeous venomous snake is the Gaboon. I would love to have one but I know its out of my league. I don't have anything hot. Just don't think I can do it and I am not one of those idiots that just do it and ruin it for the rest of the hot snake collectors. I know my limits.
granted, ive never kept mambas, but it seems to me that a lot of time and effort couldve been saved by using a bigger container than that little 5 gallon bucket...perhaps a rubbermaid trashcan (thats what ive always used for cobras and other big elapids) not to mention the risk of trying to juggle that big mamba into that tiny container! but you seem to have a lot of experience and you didnt get tagged so hey, whatever works! :)
this maybe a dumb question, but i have always wondered this. when snakes bite themselves, what happens afterwards? does it affect them the same way as if you would get bite or does if not affect them?
Just to offer a thought, it seems the difficulty you sometimes have getting Snakes into buckets might be remedied somewhat if the buckets were black.. they seem to dash to dark places
close up of gaboon was very interesting, at first i thought they had full black tongue i am curious as to why you give them water with the spray thingy?
out of all your snakes the gaboons make me nervous just to watch lol. Elvis is a spaz, but those gaboons and their sneak attacks can set ya on edge! Happy New Year viperkeeper from the Romero family!
Accidents happen. That room is way too small to be dealing with huge venomous snakes. This guy clearly has knowledge and skill but if this thing got away or killed him, it would probably take down one or two more people before caught.
Wow, what a harrowing moment at 15:38. Big fan of your vids and that's the first time I ever heard you scream out in shock and fear. Even your wife commented you don't yell very often! LOL
I had a dream last night...I got bit on the foot by a venomous snake of some kind...I woke up with my foot throbbing...I think I've been watching too much viperkeeeper!
Like my dad used to say, if mamba ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.
When you worked with that Black Mamba, Man that would have made me VERY nervous. You are literally staring death in the face with a snake like that. And you clearly have the skills and patience to deal with that on the regular. Salutes to you!
Jack Straw Thanks :-)
I'm not one that usually likes snakes but I love watching your videos about them!
TheRah190192 Thanks :-)
hahahaha that's so funny at the end when the mamba was like "and FUCK OFF!" (mouth wide open) hahaha! I can't believe he was just sitting there like that!

So were all the rest of us too, so were all the rest of us!!
Mrs Vyper Keeper said "Happy Mamba." I watched this Mothers Day evening 2016. Happy Mothers Day Mrs Vyper Keeper!!
The way you talk to the snakes is so cute.
Wow, Al, this is some of the best mamba footage on the internet. Thank you for your time and talent on this one! Sacrificing your sanity for the sake of getting these moments on video goes well appreciated.
This video is very interesting, setting the gaboon viper peaceful character to the agressive one of the black mamba
Whoa! A freakin' fang stuck in the back of that Gaboon's head??!! Oh my goodness... would love to have seen it close up
Amazing composure handling the Black Mamba ! I broke a swet watching it .
Still in shock,,,,,,,,,, :>) Thank God you didn't get bit .
I was tilting my phone and moving around... some how trying to attempt to help you get that black mamba into the bucket, even though it was obviously futile.
The size of that mamba, must be frightening to handle, I really admire your courage. :)
Your laundry bill must be enormous
Wow! That was amazing how he kept his mouth open so wide even after he was back in his cage. That snake really has some speed too!
Very scary to look into the mouth of old coffin head--- 18:07.
Cheers and respect Al.
CrocDoc1 Absolutely

Merry (belated) Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thanks for another year of wonderful video sharing.
15:37 nope nope nope nope nope nope
Oh man! Those baby puff adders are so cute I can't handle it!
I love Elvis. me daughter and I love to learn about all the fascinating snakes from all over the world.
If only gaboons weren't extremely dangerous snakes - I'd enjoy holding one, because they're gorgeous snakes.
What a cutie! I always imagine hots snapping and being very aggressive, but this gaboon is acting like my corn snake!
Yeah, until it has a feeding response and sinks its 1 1/2" fangs into your arm, or neck. That would not be to cute.
I've noticed that you always have some problems with lock up snakes in the bucket. Texas SnakeBite Thanks :-)
viperkeeper My pleasure. Get well soon!
I have that much more respect for u after this vid!!Love the Gabon my favorite snake
Wow that was a sketchy moment. He was in no mood for handling at that moment. Great work.
I just love the big boofy head of the Gaboon Viper's and their googly eyes. I think if the pail on it's side had something on the front that made it look like a dark place, he might crawl in.
seems like you are a good handler. stay safe with your leggless buddies.
Wow that black mamba was tricky
Thanks again for another great video. I love those gaboons. I'm glad you keep those amazing serpents so I can just admire them via internet. When he came flying out of the bucket .I ch_t my pants !! So glad he didn't hit you Viperkeeper ..as i am sure you are !!
I think it's so interesting how much you can tell from a snakes body language.
Such a Beautiful snake !
I learned something about Rhino Vipers! That's amazing how high quality the video is, and how absolutely beautiful your gaboon boy and pretty much all of your snakes are. I find it fascinating how attractive death is sometimes. As for the black mamba, good job wrestling her, and I'm glad you weren't bit!
im not going to lie that was scary when the one snake was cruising around and not going into the bucket.
That black mamba did not seem to tire as fast as some of your other snakes, he actually looked like he was still going pretty strong there when you got the lid on.
My 3 year old daughter and I enjoy your videos, I enjoy the commentary which is quite funny, and we learn at the same time. Thank you!
Black Mambas are just scary as hell. like you've just passed your driving test and your first car to drive is a Ferrari, and you have to drive it at top speed and not crash it, that's similar to handling a black mamba. he acts like the snakes are just being
mean puppies
but
venomous
Al, watching your videos is one of my favourite things to do to wind down in my free time! So thanks for posting this over xmas as I seem to have a lot of free time! :)
Austin Stevens got it right "Everyone is nervous about black mambas"
the gaboon viper is my favorite, one that u display...
That mamba's mouth at the end was like an image from a nightmare.
dang black mamba, I don't know much about snakes, but I've heard that species is considered one of the deadliest
I am so glad that you share your collection with us. Thanks to you I am now aspiring to become a herpotologist and work with snakes as a career. Amazing Sir, you'll have to excuse me while I check my shorts! Black Mambas are nuts, I like Elvis much better!
Nice Bitis Al! I really liked the little arietans, he gave an awesome big boy puff for the camera lol. Thankfully that polylepis wasn't seriously peeved. I'd hate to see that go down, but I couldn't stop watching if it did lol.
I love snakes I own 3 but damn bro you are braver then I am playing with a pissed off mamba in the offensive mood
cody ledford Thanks :-)

I said your King Cobra was cute now Im gonna say all your snakes are adorable!
I had to go check myself after seeing the mamba strike. I think the most gorgeous venomous snake is the Gaboon. I would love to have one but I know its out of my league. I don't have anything hot. My favorite snake. More videos of these pretty babies, please!
their all so beautiful
SAME I love your videos they're very interesting even if I don't like snakes they're still on this planet so I believe we should respect them😊❤️
this maybe a dumb question, but i have always wondered this. when snakes bite themselves, what happens afterwards? does it affect them the same way as if you would get bite or does if not affect them?
11:34-18:36 is pure gold!
I salute u ViperKeeper! Super amazing reflexes and a quick mind! thank you for the educational videos, that's was haha super scary I would say!
Got my adrenaline pumping just watching.
Holy shit she almost had you Viperkeeper my heart was pounding YIKES! lol.
I love you are so calm with all your snakes
Really beautiful!!!
Just to offer a thought, it seems the difficulty you sometimes have getting Snakes into buckets might be remedied somewhat if the buckets were black.. they seem to dash to dark places
Oh my god that mamba means business!!
Well, that was a nail-biter! Great work there, Viperkeeper!
Your Gaboons are awesome the whole reason I subbed to your channel
Verry pretty snakes I love gaboon vipers
Wow! I love the parting shot of the Gaping Black Mouth of Death.
make a lexan shield to go on your camera and tripod. that might help you stay a lil more safe!
I would have had to change my shorts after that mamba moment. Sheesh!
love this guy. ahaha. good filming.
Great channel VK. God Black mambas are sooooo quick !!! They just demand the upmost respect. rather you than me VK
ha ha
I have heard "The Wife is 10x the man", she must be the cream of the crop!
close up of gaboon was very interesting, at first i thought they had full black tongue
i am curious as to why you give them water with the spray thingy?
i think the mamba is either singing in a choir or a metal band do re me rofl geez what a beast
out of all your snakes the gaboons make me nervous just to watch lol. Elvis is a spaz, but those gaboons and their sneak attacks can set ya on edge! Happy New Year viperkeeper from the Romero family!

Paul1PA Well when the pointy end of a Black Mamba appears near your fingers without notice, it's either a yell or pee yourself.
The very reason that I will always live vicariously through you, Al! Even though I still almost peed myself.
I have a gapey, bitey snake as well, luckily for me it's only a foxsnake
HAPPY MAMBA!! LMAO!!
What a beautiful Gaboon.
extremely beautiful snakes, keep up the good work
Beautiful snake
those mambas are so mobile~ need nerves of steel to handle !
I had a dream last night...I got bit on the foot by a venomous snake of some kind...I woke up with my foot throbbing...I think I've been watching too much viperkeeeper!
Dude you got some balls, all the respect for you man, love ya vids
Reddit brought me here and you sir are amazing at what you do! Very entertaining to say the least! haha
That black mamba scares meh, they seem really aggressive
Get a go pro and a helmet VK. Hands free recording means we would get to see everything you see. Keep up the good work.
I don't know that i've ever seen Gaboon Viper cam. Wow! What a cutie.
I think you need a bigger tub for that mamba! If it was a black tub wouldn't it just go in a lot easier thinking it was a dark place?
A bigger bucket would have helped a lot.
