this is an important video because it shows that no matter how good, experienced, fast, strong, smart or well equipped you are there is ALWAYS danger lurking right there with you. Not being arrogant or delusional about the risks is the only way to survive in the long run
Awesome video. The Black Mamba might not have stirred your blood pressure but the strike, and watching you juggle hooks to move the large one certainly spiked mine! Nerves of steel! Thanks for another great show.
Fantastic channel! Very informative. Much better than trying to get info on wikipedia. I think this is one of the most informative channels on youtube. Thank you.
Excellent Video, Al ! Great to see that the Viperkeeper Signature Snake Hooks that I built for you are working well, and that you are happy with them !
gotta say love these videos. love the sarcasm and I love the fact my 2yr old begs to watch snakes. thank you for posting these. I never have a desire to get close to these guys but love watching them.
Seriously stressful video VK . You must have had an empty bottle of Captain Morgan after the wild squirrely Mamba and the Big Mamma Mamba . I was knotted up like I was about to come face to face with those two . Mrs. VK you are a brave and tough as nails grabbing bad ass Mamba by the tail. I tip my hat to you and say NOPE at the same time.
i've been watching for a long time & i love your videos. like many people that watch, i'm sooo scared of snakes, but love watching & learning about them. however, from what i see, you can get too comfortable with them & put yourself in dangerous situations a lotttt & that gets me so nervous watching. sometimes it seems like you kinda treat them like dogs or something & you'll get toooooo comfortable. just my observation. keep up the amazing work & videos, just be more alert & careful!
couldnt they just make a shirt and gloves (maybe mask) that is tough enough to not be penetrated by fangs? im sure someone sells this kinda clothing.. better safe then sorry..
Viperkeeper I have a question for ya....what's you're opinion on the davidfeeder guy? The one with the long ass claws on his fingers. What do you think of him?
After stumbling upon your channel on RUclips, I've really enjoyed viewing your videos. You care for some amazing animals and do a great job of sharing your experiences with the public. I share a passion for herpetology and mother nature in general and consider you an expert in your field. So I have a few questions that if you have time for, I'd be very interested in your answers. First question: What is it about serpents, especially venomous serpents that you find so fascinating, beautiful and alluring? Question 2: What do you think on a deeper psychological or even philosophical level that makes certain individuals so fascinated and attracted to snakes? And question 3: Why do you feel we as human beings feel the need to keep animals in captivity, and do you think that individuals kept in captivity are subjectively "happier" than those in the wild? I'm really interested in what makes people like you and I behave the way we do. While I may answer these questions differently than you, I really would like to hear your valuable opinions. Thank you for your time and consideration. Keep up the great work!
Hey there mr viperkeeper have you ever thought about keeping the room temp down when handling these types of venomous snakes in order to make them more lethargic?
Love your videos. I want to know what sort of procedures you have in place in case the close incident turned into an actual bite? Do you immediately leave the room closing the door behind you or do you handle the snake first and get it back into its cage?
That is so cute, watching her eat! She just daintily takes that chick from the forceps with her mouth! You can almost hear her say "Hmm, ahh, yes, thank you". My pythons just go "Blurrrb!" and throw themselves at their meal!
I just subscribed. There is NO WAY I could do what you do, man. NO WAY! Lol Close call!!! I know you've probably been doing this for eons, but I sincerely hope I didn't subscribe only to come back next week and find out you got tagged and died. Please, please, PLEASEEE be careful.
Al, I have watched many of your videos and I can help but notice that you have a set of tongs but I don't think I have seen you use them. Would they not make handling some of the arboreal snakes or some of the really fast twitchy ones ?
First of all, thanks for the video. The hooks look awesome as well. I was just wondering if you still use the same disinfectant that you mentioned in the coral snake extraction video? The dc 10 I believe it was. If so, where do you get it? Thanks again.
Hi Al, I was wondering what the difference between scared tongue flicks and curious tongue flicks are? You've mentioned there's a difference in several videos but I haven't been able to spot it.
Hey brother how can I get in touch with John Zegel for a hook like yours? I have no Facebook. I want one like yours for my channel content when getting rattlesnakes out of hard to reach spots. Definitely appreciate any help. Peace and blessings
Eight chicks!? Holy crap, how long has it been since she's eaten, Al? Great video with some splendid closeups from Mrs. VK! Nice job! I eat two $1 burgers from McD's, and I'm stuffed. I guess she's not concerned about her girly figure? :) Hoping you are feeling better, Rich
Thank you so much for sharing this video with us. I hope that the black mamba female's ribs will heal nicely. How did she break them if I may ask? I hope she will start trusting you soon so that there will be more videos of her. She was so long.
Susan Gardiner As mentioned below, the trappers in Africa are not so gentle with the snakes. Mostly because if they screw up they're likely dead, no hospitals with a/v close by.
viperkeeper ohh. Okay then. That is understandable then. I hope that she gets better and starts trusting you. I originally thought that she was hurt on purpose but it sounds like by your statement that it was unintentional. Good luck with her care. Thank you for the explanation.
viperkeeper Another fantastic vid. Very entertaining. If you don't mind me asking seeing the question was brought up. But what lizards does Mrs Viper keeper own.
And the most irrelevant question of the video: Is the second set of lettering on the dog bowl supposed to say "reaming of bones" or did they misprint it and forget to put the 'd'?
For the life of me I can not understand why people deal with these deadly reptiles. Unless they are making a living from milking them, these people are chancing mutilation at best and death at worst. It is totally incomprehensible to me. Having had to kill them round and IN my house in both Liberia and Uganda I really harbor a great dislike for them Why this fellow doesn't use snake tongs, I can't understand. One goofy American in Monrovia used to keep and play with snakes. He was bitten by a green mamba one fang in his thumb and came very close to dying. No, he learned nothing from the experience and continued to play around with them, no idea what finally happened to him. His last name was Miller.
This fellow's time is coming. It's going to happen when he's alone and he'll probably be tagged multiple times, These creatures DO NOT become habituated nor do they 'acquaint' themselves with these handlers and already he's getting clumsy because of old age and with mambas you only need to make one mistake.
I wonder how many times this fellow has been bitten? He does take chances. Having lived nd worked in many countries wit large poisonous snake populations.. west and east Africa, India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia I have dealt far too often with venomous snakes to take any chances with them. They were routinely killed in Africa, but not in Sri Lanka and India.
I have no idea why you would want to keep things that just want to kill you! XD Don't get me wrong, they're interesting to look at but that's as far as it goes! XD
this is an important video because it shows that no matter how good, experienced, fast, strong, smart or well equipped you are there is ALWAYS danger lurking right there with you. Not being arrogant or delusional about the risks is the only way to survive in the long run
Awesome video. The Black Mamba might not have stirred your blood pressure but the strike, and watching you juggle hooks to move the large one certainly spiked mine! Nerves of steel! Thanks for another great show.
Viper keeper I'm a big fan from the UK please keep up the good work. Really inspiring the love you have for these magnificent creatures!
John Zegel Yes, John, they are perfect weight & balance for my style. Love the large (wide) hook you sent for moving large Bitis.
I absolutely love your green mambas! They are stunning looking, seem to have cool personalities as well.
Glad you were able to shut the door in time! That looked like it was pretty close!
Green mambas are my favorite snakes! They're so pretty, and I love their faces.
gotta say love these videos. love the sarcasm and I love the fact my 2yr old begs to watch snakes. thank you for posting these. I never have a desire to get close to these guys but love watching them.
Just discovered your channel, and I'm already hooked. Please be careful and thank you for sharing your beautiful animals with us.
Al's a happy hooked now. Very nice new hook by the way. As always thanks for a peek at your passion.
Thank you for sharing. And great team work. You guys are awesome .
Shoutout to you VK and Mrs. VK from Costa Rica and Reptile Land. Great video as always.
This guy has BRASS balls... keeping mambas for pets.... by far the most dangerous snake on the planet... based on speed and venom toxicity. kudos...
None of them are considered "pets".
Viperkeeper rocks
Every time I watch your videos Im enthralled by them always loved learning about snakes just not touching them lol
i've been watching for a long time & i love your videos. like many people that watch, i'm sooo scared of snakes, but love watching & learning about them. however, from what i see, you can get too comfortable with them & put yourself in dangerous situations a lotttt & that gets me so nervous watching. sometimes it seems like you kinda treat them like dogs or something & you'll get toooooo comfortable. just my observation. keep up the amazing work & videos, just be more alert & careful!
You make some of the most riveting videos on youtube.
This guy deserves all the credit in the world
couldnt they just make a shirt and gloves (maybe mask) that is tough enough to not be penetrated by fangs? im sure someone sells this kinda clothing.. better safe then sorry..
I love mambas the coffin shaped head is so pretty to me. I'm not all for fancy colors and shapes
That was close call with the black mamba. Glad it didn't get out.
You are my hero. I enjoy your videos immensely and appreciate all of your hard work viper keeper !
Viperkeeper I have a question for ya....what's you're opinion on the davidfeeder guy? The one with the long ass claws on his fingers. What do you think of him?
i'll be honest, i think you are a maniac. but i mean that in the best possible way. respect.
awesome as always mr. viperkeeper. much love to u and mrs.viperkeeper
tammy echevarria Thanks :-)
Your wife is a champ! I can't get my woman near a corn snake!

Is this tubing of head method safe because it is a glass tube and it can break? Isn't there any easier method which less risky ?
Hey there mr viperkeeper have you ever thought about keeping the room temp down when handling these types of venomous snakes in order to make them more lethargic?
Mamba on a stick doesn't look like a very fun game, and one which you either become good at very quickly or your very quickly out.
i love your cages. reminds me of the Japanese cubby hotels
Love your videos. I want to know what sort of procedures you have in place in case the close incident turned into an actual bite? Do you immediately leave the room closing the door behind you or do you handle the snake first and get it back into its cage?
These vids always make my day!!!!
That is so cute, watching her eat! She just daintily takes that chick from the forceps with her mouth! You can almost hear her say "Hmm, ahh, yes, thank you". My pythons just go "Blurrrb!" and throw themselves at their meal!
I'm new to your channel and would just like to say i love it and my favorite snake has to be Kermit very beautiful snake!!!
Its incredibe some people are able to get help when the black mamba bites, they really dont have long.
I noticed you are using a different substrate with your black mambas. Does the substrate have a problem with expansion when wet?
I just subscribed. There is NO WAY I could do what you do, man. NO WAY! Lol Close call!!! I know you've probably been doing this for eons, but I sincerely hope I didn't subscribe only to come back next week and find out you got tagged and died. Please, please, PLEASEEE be careful.
Thanks again for another awesome video!
viper keeper you should show case all the snakes you currently have i'd love to see them all!
this has probobly been this gentlemans life long passion, but dang man this is extremely dangerous
Al, I have watched many of your videos and I can help but notice that you have a set of tongs but I don't think I have seen you use them. Would they not make handling some of the arboreal snakes or some of the really fast twitchy ones ?

Great video as always. I was wondering what the white bedding was that you moved the black mamba on to?
Hi Al, I was wondering what the difference between scared tongue flicks and curious tongue flicks are? You've mentioned there's a difference in several videos but I haven't been able to spot it.
Saphruikan He's explained it more than a few times.
I haven't seen the explanation yet.
mambas are supposed to have very bad temperments.
Thanks for sharing :) What sort of substrate is the white one for the black mambas?
what would you do if all ur venoumous snakes escaped?
Thanks Al, I think I shit my pants, did you check your pants too! What a very unpleasant disposition that snake has!
How many of their cages do you clean a day?
Reminds me of the guy from human centipede two
Yoh. thanks for the video. Nice custom VK stick thingy. Peace man
Hey brother how can I get in touch with John Zegel for a hook like yours? I have no Facebook. I want one like yours for my channel content when getting rattlesnakes out of hard to reach spots. Definitely appreciate any help. Peace and blessings
Shouldn't the clear glass you cover the pale with have some holes in it?
Squirtle The pale has hole in it.
I'm new to your channel, do you milk your snakes for the production of anti-venom? and do you keep anti-venom on hand?at your house?
+Zoe Mon Watch "Viperkeeper 101" for these answers and more.
Eight chicks!? Holy crap, how long has it been since she's eaten, Al? Great video with some splendid closeups from Mrs. VK! Nice job! I eat two $1 burgers from McD's, and I'm stuffed. I guess she's not concerned about her girly figure? :)

Rich206L Quail chicks are light weight meals just several grams, this is why they get a bunch.
Thank you so much for sharing this video with us. I hope that the black mamba female's ribs will heal nicely. How did she break them if I may ask? I hope she will start trusting you soon so that there will be more videos of her. She was so long.
freakboynv2000 okay that makes sense. I was just wondering if he was saving this snake from someone who bought it and was way over their head.
Have you ever been bit by any of your snakes??
+Vinh Phan Watch ViperKeeper 101
+viperkeeper do you own a blue krait???
+RIHNK EYE Had one, sent it on to another collector. It was a very boring snakes.

He may be one of the kindest people ive seen
i'll stick to constrictors.. almost panic when you moved the big black..
Would you ever work with lizards or anything to that nature?
Koopa Team My wife does that.
Oh I have a bearded dragon. What kind of lizards does she have.
viperkeeper Another fantastic vid. Very entertaining. If you don't mind me asking seeing the question was brought up. But what lizards does Mrs Viper keeper own.
what is the reason you are doing this to snakes? I mean wouldn't they get rid of their scales naturally "as a result of their movements"? Thanks.
Apparently this one had a bad shed, so he had to help a little. He doesn't do this unless necessary.
Anybody watched Tim Friede channel? He lets venomous snakes including black mambas bite him on purpose. He has developed an immunity over the years.
He's an idiot
Love mambas
The green mambas are my favourite
Made me jump! I don’t know how you do it. SMH
Great vid
And the most irrelevant question of the video: Is the second set of lettering on the dog bowl supposed to say "reaming of bones" or did they misprint it and forget to put the 'd'?
Make that Happy Hooker.
I miss the black beast, will he be making an appearance soon?
S3V3N13TT3R5 I think in this weeks mixed bag
Hi Al, Is this the girl who had you cornered recently? Shes a feisty one
+TheAngmarwitch sorry, at 11:30

Ironically, I've heard of a guy named Miller who was killed by a guy named Snake in the past.😁
@@Boomslang1 I know it's not meant to be funny what you said, but it sounds funny...😁
Wow, you people are insane!
2:26 hehehe "shaft"
How come you don't have any Bushmasters Like your vid's
Bushmasters are insane
Ever bitten? If so by what species?Love to watch.

Hey haven't been on your channel in a while!! Do you still have Gabby?
Small error al, not a real problem..

I have no idea why you would want to keep things that just want to kill you! XD
Don't get me wrong, they're interesting to look at but that's as far as it goes! XD
Aloooooooooooooooooooominum. Me: eeeeewwwww say aluminium alu min eee yum
Niceee videoo
can't help but think he's obsessed. and shouldn't have these snakes. they are not meant to be in captivity.
I like the title "Working with..." Let's be honest: you're playing, not working.
If you call handling deadly venomous snakes that can kill you in under 30 minutes, "play", I'd hate to see what you do for fun.
