I think if you add weight to it ,I think it would help the throttle feel!

Thanks for this video. I didn't want a dedicated rock crawler. More of a trail truck capable of rock crawling. It looks like this truck on 3s may be that. This is the only video I've seen showing speed capabilities with this truck. Also the only one comparing and testing 2s vs 3s. Thank you.

I've got two of these, and the hardest part is that i need to wait until my daughter's birthday on April 19th to drive it. Lol
As far as 2s vs 3s slow, i don't think it helps with slow crawl.
Only lower gears, higher turn motor, or a stronger motor will do that.
The stronger motor equaling slower crawl was surprising to me at first. I had a 050 on an scx24, then i added another 050 (050 x 2), and slow crawl was significantly better.
Same with when i put a 280 in it. Super nice slow crawl, but it burned up my esc. Lol

I guess i should add that putting larger tires on it will hurt slow-crawl.
Also, I'm not into trying to improve slow crawl with low gears, doesnt drive right imo.
Usually i opt for more power.
I think you will like the higher turn motor for slow crawl with 3s to maintain a decent top speed.
Thank you, i like your video style.

3S def helps when you need to bump it up an obstacle. I think 80t range on 3s would be nice. Better low and high. My 66t is ok but not a huge difference

Super cool, didnt know that about the ascent 18. Does the esc run the 3s battery past a safe voltage cutoff? Or do you just check after a while of running? Great video by the way

That’s a good question, so far I’ve had no issue discharging past a safe level so the esc must recognize that it’s 3 cells. I will try it with a half charged battery and see where it cuts off.
