If you keep spamming and firing weapons erratically and not tactically, it's going to move insanely fast and it will be extra difficult to keep up with Ibis. Because of how insane this guy moves, I recommend a Reverse-Joint build. I used the Zimmerman Shotgun, the six-cell Plasma Launcher, the Laser-Lance, and the Pilebunker. Weapons Bay, of course. The tactic is to instead wait for Ibis to attack you. The funnels are rather easy to dodge; just strafe around to the sides and stay at mid-range or long-range. Don't follow the impulse of your twitchy fingers; when you try and panic-shoot with the shotgun and the missiles, the Ibis will react to that and will be harder to track. The sword waves are the real problem. Watch how the attacks come out; it has a pattern. Ibis will fly around to your side and try doing the wave combo. Dodge this by QB'ing to one side, then to the opposite side for the next barrage. For example, after dodging the first waves by dodging to the right, dodge the next one by QB'ing to the left. It depends on the waves' angle. Beware of its beam attacks and double-waves. Although they provide you the best opening to close the gap, they can one-shot or two-shot. Don't panic and just QB. Best way to close the gap against Ibis is the laser-lance + shotgun. Once it's stationary, approach with a charged laser-lance, then if it's not yet staggered; use the shotgun. Once staggered, quickly switch to the pilebunker and land a charged attack. Half of Ibis' health is gone. Play PATIENTLY, much like how we fight the Ice Worm. Wait for the opening, and keep cool. It's a high-damage, precision-based build with a high skill ceiling. Everything here is _also_ working not just as intended, but as _expected_ ; this is quite normal for Armored Core. Dual pile bunkers used to be a thing, and they did exactly what you might think they would do to a target. Melee weapons in AC have _always_ had incredibly high damage output, because they're hard to land hits with. Trust me when I say there are other builds out there that are much easier to kill this boss with. Believe me, I know, I've used them to kill this boss. "I personally don't want to use this build as I feel it'd ruin my first playthrough for me." "I wanna die a few dozen times so I can get that satisfaction after I beat it ya know?" I do and I don't. I do, in that I understand the meaning of the sentence, but I don't in that I've never felt that way myself nor have I been able to bring myself to deeply empathize with people who do. I can understand a kind of 'negative happiness,' like suddenly being released from suffering, but that is the kind of thing that comes when you experience an unavoidable trial that you otherwise had no way to really get out of or ameliorate. In this case, you're _choosing_ to face-smash against something that not only do you not need to face-smash against, but it wasn't _designed_ to be face-smashed against. At that point, why are you even equipping your AC with weapons? A bare fist run has _already_ been done for this game. If you want to die lots of times before you kill a boss, why not just do that?
Bro I used the same exact laser lance + pilebunker setup when I killed this boss yesterday lets goo. But I spent an hour dying because I kept trying to go to it, had no idea that it comes down to the ground if you let it. I'll remember this for ng+

I don't think the difficulty has been turned down. You can trivialize bosses in any fromsoft game. They always reward players for mastering their game mechanics and in AC that means learning how to build powerful ACs. Most people that struggle in fromsoft games do so because their knowledge is lacking.

It's why Oroboro has a 'Breaking Armored Core 6' series. I'm actually quite curious to see what he comes up with to trivialize this boss (this boss, _and_ the final boss of NG+2).
"I wanna die a few dozen times so I can get that satisfaction after I beat it ya know?"
I do and I don't.
I've been stuck on this boss for three days and you zero damaged it a year ago. Holy shit.
Man, I was able to finish Ibis01 using no repair and thought that was good enough. This man do it in under 2 mins and no damage too??
I was waiting to see you put out a video like this.
That was fast 👏👏 impressive reflex!
Laser Lance/Zimmermann shoty and double Needles worked for me, too. Pretty much the same strat, get close, stagger and blast those needles in its face. Was a hell of fight, but felt so good at the end.
Idk why people say the graphics isnt that good. The water and stuff may not be the best, but the mechs and the effects look amazing as hell
the graphics are good
it's fromsoft, their games are never graphically impressive but they're carried by really good art direction
@@oh-no-its-clara7574 facts. Art direction is always better than graphics fidelity.
Me: Fighting in first stage for 6 minutes and being thankful to have 1 Repair Kit left. Ongbal: smashin' it in 70 seconds.
It took me about five tries to kill this boss, one of the most adrenaline intense fights in gaming history. I was kinda overpowered by the time I reached it but oh man it was such a good fight
1:37 bro even avoided a stray 😭
Hesitation is defeat, pilot…
HOW!?!? This boss has been kicking my ass for the past 6 hours. And you wipe the floor with them in minutes.
The boss design: 10/10
The skill of this player: 10/10
this video alone is much better than what most so called ac vets showed so far on this platform
True
Did my entire NG+ cycle with double stun needs double zimmerman, that setup made this boss look like a joke. Meanwhile it wiped the floor with me for a bit on my first run lmao
I had to use the stun stun cannon and minugun strat, this was too out of my depth XD. Props to you for this kill for sure, you are a better pilot than me...
>(radio chatter)
>sorry can't hear you over the sound of me sending this thing to a scrapyard
>phase 1
>you were saying?
>phase 2
>you were saying? x2
More boss fights! Watching your gameplay makes me see what's possible in the game.
Pile Driver
The damage will never disappoints us even its old but its indeed still gold
This start is insane lol, I've used it after watching you for my S Rank clear
Okay this is very helpful to watch, as I'm currently using almost the exact same weapon build to fight this thing.
Ibis series gave me that Quebeley vibes from Gundam Zeta/ZZ because of it's funnel-like weapons
I can't wait to get to this boss and see more of its attacks!
Most player wouldn't last with actual skill builds lol
This is the first boss I've ever had to look up the youtube video for, every other boss i got in 1 to 2 tries. I've spent over am hour for this one.
Ongbal, you living king, that was an amazing kill, and it worked like a dream, thank you so much for creating this video, youre amazing, keep up the great work, may god grant you long life and happy days.
Ah, majestic! Hot swapping melee weapons. Not just that, but using the lance to close the gap and stun to set up the pile bunker charged attack. A hunter must hunt!
Sick build was legit stuck on this boss, literally saved my ass, from my perspective you just gotta wait for openings to do the wosh bang bang thingymajig
"The IBIS series... still functional..."
AC Silent Line players : How many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man ?! *(Cue the asskicking)*
he was so lucky that the boss did the whip/slash attack after the first combo in the 2nd stage. I usually need to dodge more of the drone attack after land my first piledrive
I am pretty sure this video was not a first attempt. But like a speed runner many attempts for everything to line up
I don't think the difficulty has been turned down. You can trivialize bosses in any fromsoft game. They always reward players for mastering their game mechanics and in AC that means learning how to build powerful ACs. Most people that struggle in fromsoft games do so because their knowledge is lacking.
If you bring the spring chicken legs, jump at the start of the fight, boost up just like half a second you and lance pile bunker it before it even attacks you. I don't know if anyone else has discovered this yet
Well goddamm done man, I thought I’d take longer to do the no damage boss fight. Imma do your exact build now
took me so many tries to kill this monster of a thing, it was the most stressful yet most rewarding kill i have ever get in a long time
I never would have thought of having both the Laser Javelin AND the Pile driver.
As always, you're the GOAT.
As Fightincowboy said:
"Pilebunker Op"
Classic Ongbal being classic Ongbal. I knew it was only a matter of time.
this method got the jopb done for me !! thank you
Literally the only way I’ve been able to beat ‘em, this build is gold for that boss
that's some nice melee damage, I just beat this guy with double assault riffle assault and it was way longer than that :D you make ma wanna try a melee build
THANK YOU FOR THE PARTS LIST!!!!!!!
I first tried this guy with dual shotties and all the fastest boost parts. You just strafe and dodge everything. EZ mode for every enemy AC fight
I noticed quickly that you can get free melee attack right at the start of a fight but I never thought about using 2 melee weapons.
I realised today i missed the Aurora shoulder cannon in this mission. I was not looking forward to repeating this fight. Until now.
Ibus straight up cheats to be difficult. No energy drain kills any wear down tactics, and if you’re not allowed to touch it, it can move away from you at equal speed with 0 change in animation. But you found every crack between the cheats. It’s just a basic AC underneath.
Your a godsend with this. Not gonna beat you, but I did finally beat this boss.
He got quite lucky at 1:44 that she did that move. The more she spammed other moves the more risk of damage. Especially that Radahn x 3 move
This man is on track to S-Ranking the game
Just beat this boss after 2 hours of tries and then I see this. Absolutely unreal lol
