That's my local club. He absolutely murdered the Firethorn course today. The distance of those drives from the tips all the way to the green is simply simply mindblowing.
A lot of speed with his upper body without coming over the top. His right hand grip is unique, he makes an underhand move thru impact with his right hand.
@@fudeuchi lame asf, you want golfers to look like little nerd twigs for a hundred more years, unfortunately golf is changing, in 20 years or so every golfer will look like Bryson or get left behind, the trend is already showing.
Looks to have a great future young Wilco. Love the balance and control in his golf swing. Long and straight off the tee with a solid short game. I imagine he'll keep playing on the European Tour for a year or two and gradually move over to the tougher PGA Tour.
Did you watch him while you where there James? I watched him a couple of years ago at final qualifying at st Anne’s ... never seen anyone hit it as far ... 2 iron into wind 280 to reach a par 5 haha.... subscriber of the channel by the way haha keep them vids coming! Awesome insight
I like him but It would be lovely if a player came along who can work the ball like no other. Distance is all we look for these days. Golf is and will always be a skilled sport no matter how long you hit it.
Seems like he has the ability to finesse the ball as well. The first shot in highlights looks to be a beautiful trap draw into the wind. He didn't manage to pull them off 100% but I saw draws/fades in this clip. But definitely understand/agree with what you're saying.
“work the ball like no other” so what like shot shaping? You got tiger, distance control and finesse? You got Phil. These are traits that every golfer has to have to be in the PGA, hitting over 320 is not one of those traits so it’s interesting. If you want to watch people work the ball that’s any PGA highlight video
distance is all we look for because it’s what’s gonna save golf from permanently being a uncool, exclusive, stuck up sport. If we keep golf the exact same for another hundred years nothing will change. Bryson is a show man, making golf fun and entertaining again for more then just golfers. Regular people don’t care about finesse
I wonder about the big hitters sometimes. I know he came runner up which is incredible, but you look at his driving in 1st round vs the rest and it's so much better. I wonder about energy expenditure. It's like trying to run a marathon at a 5k pace. These guys have 4 rounds to play, I feel like taking 50 yards off your drive and having a 9 iron instead of a wedge could maybe give them more longevity. But then what do I know?
Stupidity? More akin to learning. It's a reference to bulking up. You don't need "bulk" to add length. Particularly when it's already there with Wilco. Forget Bryson gaining the pounds. Remember Tiger before he decided he wanted to look like an NFL line backer? Skinny. All coil. Elasticity wound up to unleash natural power. For whatever reason Tiger went about bulking up. He didn't need to. That's where Wilco is now. He is skinny. All coil. Elasticity and he simply bombs it. No need to "appear" strong for the sake of ego. Keep it as it is and focus on short game and putting. A foreboding prospect. He has, like Tiger had, the perfect physique for Golf. All the best of luck to Wilco, he's a star of the future no doubt.
@@jonathanlynch8372 bulking is what will protect you from destroying your body beyond repair ..which is what many these juniors face when they eventually turn pro and loose their flexibility with age and get injured very early in their pro career. this is why they need to either slow down their swing or bulk up in accordance to instruction with a professional trainer..not advice from some rando golf commentator or youtube armchair expert.

This guy’s hitting short irons/wedges into those long PAR 5’s at FIRETHORN from the tips😳😳 then he must be very long coz Randpark from the tips is brutally long bru...great swing and a definitely a great future ahead,as long as he keeps a cool head on his shoulders✌🏿🇿🇦
Why do people dislike stuff like this. 20 years old and plays phenomenally and they just dislike it
First! Sorry for the end of this video cutting short. Lightning stopped the coverage 😞
Still the best tour coverage channel on RUclips
And still better than the PGA tour highlights..

This young man has a huge career coming his way. I look forward to seeing him in the U.S. tour.

What a golf swing, even though he kills it off the tee wonderful balance and tempo, rythem, joy to watch him and boy hes got a great all round game
This lad looks like he might have a future.
Thanks for the look at another young soon to be great player. Distance....oh my amazing.
this is NEXT LEVEL golf
This guy is seriously impressive.
That dude hits bombs for real
With some years in the gym. He will be quite a star.
Hope this guy won’t ever go to the gym tho

This boy can smash the ball?!
Longest tour player in the world
What a beautiful feel player but he rushes the down swing when he really steps on it. But I think he knows he does it and will get it under control.

Damn he can compress the hell out of the ball. Such a solid young player. Awesome 👍
He will get stronger and yes way longer drives.
Those boards don't belong on the course
Highlights from day 1 or 2 on here?

Please tell me his first name is Roger.
Everyone is talking about his massive distance but it's his distance control and putting that is really impressive
Just like hockey in Europe. Let's put advertising EVERYWHERE!
You mean just like football in England?
Why the heck are those signs so close? They are by the rough and behind bunkers when someone misses the fairway would hit those things.
What happened on hole 2? How did he bogey that🧐
