Hi Morgan! I'm from Japan. ANESSA is known for waterproof and very strong UV protection. Many Japanese girls nowadays hate getting tanned and summer in Japan is super humid so that's why ANESSA is so popular.
Hope you dont mind me asking, im in California and i hate my face get tanned as my neck always stays white and was wondering what other sun blocks would you recommend
"heavy rotation" or more often "hebirote" (ヘビロテ) refers to an item you use a lot, a favourite item, something you always reach for. it originally referred to a song or record played often by a DJ. the kissme eyebrow mascara is super popular, but I don't know if the name or the popularity came first 😄
The expression "heavy rotation" is much older than that. It is a military term that refers to duty shifts without many breaks, usually due to emergent situations or a shortage of units. It is a bit depressing that someone thinks that it is a song, but perhaps they are very young. Anyway, soon there can be "heavy rotation" along the Wall. That won't be like North Korea at all.
I second the biore aqua essence sunscreen everyone is mentioning, but it does have alcohol (a ton of Japanese sunscreens do, but it’s mainly to help with formulation and since Gothamista and Liah Yoo have both given the nod of approval to that concept I don’t mind it, plus it makes it super easy to pay over makeup for reapplication.) The browcara is SUPER popular for kpop makeup artists for lightning up idols eyebrows esp when they have that caramel brown color for hair. If you’re looking for an eyebrow pencil, the Shu Uemura hard formula is cult classic. Eyebrow pen go for the Suqqu pen in moss green, HG for Lisa Eldridge. Addiction makes single eyeshadows that are super popular even with Korean beauty channels on RUclips. Flowfushi Moteliner in Black or Black Brown is a brush eyeliner pen that Pony uses all the time. I hear good things about the Canmake cream blushes for a watercolor effect, or the Addiction liquid blushes. The Canmake concealer palette is definitely cult status, a lot of K pop make up artists use it and Korean beauty you tubers like Pony and Lamuqe. For base, I’ve seen Kate used a lot or if you don’t mind high end, Koh Gen Doh Aqua foundation is supposed to be really good, a lot of western make up artists use it professionally, or Suqqu.
Wowww it seems like you and me both are cult followers of korean and japanese makeup! 😆 it’s good to know there’s someone out there as obsessed with makeup as me cause i find it hard to talk to my friends about asian makeup (in which they don’t take any interest in...)
The Anessa sunscreen is supposed to be like super ultra waterproof I think. It’s highly rated because it’s actually really effective for outdoors but probably not so much for everyday.
I've been watching your videos for 3+ years, yet it just dawned on me how beautiful your natural hair colour is. it's such a gorgeous shade of dark brown/black and it has such a beautiful shine!
the Anessa that you bought is mineral+chemical so the white cast and hard to rub in is quite normal for zinc oxide sunscreen. To smooth things out you can rub them on your palm first until less white(?) then apply it onto your face. For even application, build up thin layers instead of a big lump at a time, reducing rubbing on your face-> reduce wrinkles eh
Omg Morgan I don't know how heavy you felt your skin but from the camera it looks *amazing!!* that bb cream and the powder makes it sooo freakin natural but smooth and lighten at the same time, you should use it for an everyday type of look, it rocks!
Definitely try Suqqu. I first came into contact with this brand when they opened up a concession in Selfridges UK. High quality products, effective skincare and vast range of makeup. Also, RMK is owned by the same company but aimed to be more affordable. Rohta Hada Labo Skincare is a must to try!!!
You should try the Opera Oil in lip tints!! They are amazing! Moisturizing and long lasting and anyone can pull off any of the colors. I reccomend them. 05 coral pink is the number 1 best seller.
Lash king is my favourite mascara! It’s sooo good. I didn’t like fibre mascaras too much but I decided to give it a chance and I’ve never looked back! It keeps my curl all day, doesn’t smudge and doesn’t get in your eyes! It’s honestly amazing.
So happy to see this video!! We definitely need more reviews in English about Japanese products to make them more accessible to international consumers, because there are a lot of cool things over here! Totally recommend you do another one of these videos sometime (you absolutely HAVE to include a Japanese eyeliner next time -- I'm hooked on them to the point I can't bring myself to try any other liquid eyeliner pens, but they're also expensive, so if you happened to know any Korean ones that are comparable...it'd be life changing xD), and here are a couple products I recommend you include! Eyeliner: 1 Day Tattoo Real Lasting Eyeliner (nice, waterproof brush type liquid liner) Eyeliner (colorful): Love Liner (they seem to release new, limited colors pretty frequently) Eyeshadow: Dolly Wink quad (I think they're more pigmented compared to Canmake) Blush: Canmake Cream Cheek (FAVORITE BLUSH OF ALL TIME, plus there are some interesting shades) Lips: FLOWFUSHI Lip38°C Lip Treatment (intended to make your lips the color they'd be if you had a fever) That's my two cents! Thank you for this video~ Really hope to see some more like it in the future!
Next time try Kate by Kanebo or Maquillage (drugstore) or even Lunasol (more high end). The eyeshadows are much better quality and more pigmented. I honestly hate the Visee eyeshadows. I have not had good experience working with the colors. Kate by Kanebo is my favorite for eyeshadows because it is drugstore and has nice colors.
Like I mentioned towards the end of the video, I have a full blog post on MY NEW WEBSITE where I talk more in-depth about each of the products. I also show you guys what my face looked like at the end of the day and how the products lasted! :) (morganalisonstewart.com/trying-a-ton-of-japanese-makeup-for-the-first-time-full-face-of-first-impressions/)
Already my favorite video of yours. I really want to know more about Japanese makeup I'm really interested in them! You should've picked up Canmake Marshmallow Finish Compact people love it it can really smoothen your skin (I sadly don't have it but the Blessed Natural powder foundation but it works as well!)
What about high end Japanese brands like SkII, Lissage, HABA etc. The products here are drugstore and mostbbudget friendly. They are like a Rimnel range. So it's unfair to compare them with high end makeup.
Tbh high end Japanese cosmetic brands r so hard to find in the states lol. The few I can get without waiting for weeks of international shipping is SK II, Clé De Peau, Shiseido, Shu uemura and that’s it.
Hi Morgannn!! I am Ayaka from Japan! I enjoyed your video:) I hate Anessa sunscreen because it is tooo thick for daily use. I like Biore sunmilk better. Or use primer call primavista or maquillage for face as sunscreen because it has SPF in them. I personally like Kate eyeshadow because they are very pigment and nice. Japan has bunch of cosmetic brand so please try other stuff:)
The Sailor Moon Miracle Romance eyeliner is amazing if you’d like to try it! It is a bit pricy if you’re not in Asia, and quite watery- so if either of those things turn you off, I wouldn’t recommend it 😂😅
I've tried using the Hattomugi Skin Conditioner, which is like a toner, and I think it's not bad. It's gentle for the skin and it comes with a huge bottle, so it'll take a while to run out.
Canmake is super cheap. It’s like wet n wild in Japan. Oftentimes their quality is so so. I like ettusais. It’s more like milani kind of price range and most of the time their products perform quite well :)
You should try the Anessa Essence Aqua Booster sunscreen. It’s my favorite sunscreen ever, it’s more like a milky light gel that doesn’t require that much rubbing on the skin as this one that you have tried. 😉
you make me want to buy all the makeup! Love your videos, love the reviews, i have been useing Missha m perfect cover bb cream since your review and it's now my favorite!
Canmake, Kate, Kiss Me are those famous brand which can perform really well if you know how to use it. We must always have a belief to try on different brands to get something suitable for ourselves.
If you're looking for a really good Japanese sunscreen, Biore makes some really nice ones that are more like a milky gel. And they're hydrating and make nice primers, as well. I like the way your whole look came together. Everything looks very natural and fresh. Very becoming on you!
Do try the Biore sunscreen line! I suggest the BIORE UV PERFECT FACE MILK (or the BRIGHT MILK) for oily skin and the BIORE UV AQUA RICH WATERY ESSENCE (or the WATERY GEL one). I'm usually using the PERFECT FACE MILK and aside from giving the brightening effect (as most sunscreens do) it's so milky and light weight and it kind of works as a primer. :)
Hello! The Annessa one u bought is the milky one I believe. I have been using the other one which is non sticky and doesn't create a white cast like this one ur using here. That one comes in a ....flat-ish bottle and has a cap. It's also in the same colour.
The Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence and Nivea Sun Protect Water Gel sunscreens are great , very light, No white cast and work well for dry skin. Hada Labo skincare products and heroine make long and curl mascara are the best.
For the sunscreen, I think you would like the Biore one better. As for the colors and coverage, usually Japanese make up are very natural looking unlike Western make up. I think Japanese people find heavy make up "not cute and pretty" so when they put on make up, it's all very natural looking :)
Hi, Morgan! I currently use and like Biore Watery Essence SPF 50++++ sunscreen. It has a gel-cream texture, absorbs well, and a light citrus scent. Hope this recommendation helps!
Hi Morgan! You should check out Kim Dao's Top 100 Japanese Makeups video & Lisa Eldridge's Japanese Makeup video. They introduce alot of good Japanese makeup. Then come to Japan to do some makeup shopping.
Cosme website will provide top rating products in Japan do check it out! It definitely will be easier to know where you can start with Japanese products. Do try out Canmake cream blush, Biore products, Kate Tokyo and many more they are all really amazing cosmetics!
Hi Morgan, can u review a new japan product called Ettusais color filter jelly. Its almost like a bb cream, ive only seen it selling certain online website or found in japan.
You basically used some drug store makeup. You should try some high-end makeup as well as some semi-drug store makeup like Kate by Kanebo or Maquillage. There are so many different Japanese brands out there! I think you would enjoy exploring the many different brands of makeup. Also, I think you’ll enjoy the many different varieties of skin care products as well.
Hey can you try Muji make up at some point? When I was in Japan I don't think it was that popular but they had a big variety of stuff and I always saw people at Muji being kind of curious about it but never buying it. I do have a muji BB cream that turned out to be quite nice for my dry skin and the best concealer I've ever tried was from them and I haven't found a formula like that ever since...
Hi Morgan i was wondering if you could recommend a good korean sunblock sunscreens especially for the face. I dont like my face to get tanned as my neck seems to stay white
Visee is pronounce “v-she”. I prefer the Anessa sunscreen in a bottle than in the tube because it’s more watery and lightweight than the one you used in the video.
I'm only familiar with *canmake* (aside from *biore* which we have on our local department store, especially their concealer palette (?) Cause it was used by Pony and Lamuqe 😄.
I agree that canmake packaging are so pretty but the eyeshadows are not pigmented at all which is really disappointing. I tried the black lipstick and I didn't like it either.
I recommend getting eyeshadows from KATE if you buy Japanese makeup. Visse’s eyeshadows are not that great. Also from Visse, I recommend the pencil liner.
Try the gel sunscreens. They're good. I dont like Japanese eyeshadows. They're all shimmery. They're not pigmented. Rare times they are pigmented, they crease! Pfft..
Hi Morgan! I'm from Japan. ANESSA is known for waterproof and very strong UV protection. Many Japanese girls nowadays hate getting tanned and summer in Japan is super humid so that's why ANESSA is so popular.
Hope you dont mind me asking, im in California and i hate my face get tanned as my neck always stays white and was wondering what other sun blocks would you recommend
biore o
@@sharonwalker9518 Try Biore or Ra and Gowoori sunscreen, both are asian brands.
I think Anessa is typically an outdoors / sports sunscreen, that's why it's on the thicker side for it to be more long lasting. :)
purohime you are right. Anessa suppose to be heavy duty sunscreen for outdoors / sports. it’s explained on the package as well :)
"heavy rotation" or more often "hebirote" (ヘビロテ) refers to an item you use a lot, a favourite item, something you always reach for. it originally referred to a song or record played often by a DJ. the kissme eyebrow mascara is super popular, but I don't know if the name or the popularity came first 😄
I believed that heavy rotation is the name of the brand.
heavy rotation is that akb song right?
Michelle Thevania yeah it is but the saying predates that, it's about songs in general
Pencilfriend Paperscribbler I've never seen that definition but okay. We're still on a video discussing makeup so no need to get so deep.
I second the biore aqua essence sunscreen everyone is mentioning, but it does have alcohol (a ton of Japanese sunscreens do, but it’s mainly to help with formulation and since Gothamista and Liah Yoo have both given the nod of approval to that concept I don’t mind it, plus it makes it super easy to pay over makeup for reapplication.) You summed up the best of Japanese makeup in a single comment thank you!!!
Melissa Huynh wow, you know a lot about Japanese make up!!!
The “Essence” Anessa is so different. Very light weight and moisturizing.
The kiss me heavy rotation is really popular to lighten up the brows :) Also Canmake cream blushes are very popular and stay on all day
PLEASE DO JAPANESE SKINCARE FAVORITES!
I've been watching your videos for 3+ years, yet it just dawned on me how beautiful your natural hair colour is. it's such a gorgeous shade of dark brown/black and it has such a beautiful shine!
I think the black lipbalm works if you put on an lipstick and put that lipbalm on top. That will deepen the color
I wish Japanese makeup is easily available as Korean cosmetics. It's so
hard to get my hands on it. Love this video Morgan. 💖💖💖
There is a site called Dokodemo that sells Japanese products and LOTS of them! Some are also sold on Yesstyle too
the Anessa that you bought is mineral+chemical so the white cast and hard to rub in is quite normal for zinc oxide sunscreen. You should've picked the kiss me mascara, that's a cult favorite, the best mascara for asian lashes.
she mentioned around 7:10 that she tried it (heroine make), but that she didn't like the fibers :(
The blush was super pretty and soft 🤗
Oooo the finish of the BB cream looked so pretty on you, Morgan
ANESSA is a Shiseido minor brand! Everybody uses It here!
for me, the biore watery essence sunscreen is the best japanese sunscreen... 😊

The K-Pallet 24H Tattoo brush liners are like my holy grail eyeliner. From the moment I first used them, nothing else can even compare.
Please make a video with all Canmake products! I am a guy whom love canmake makeup as it is very subtle!
It is the best! The only sunscreen that last all day and be able to withstand Australian sun
What about high end Japanese brands like SkII, Lissage, HABA etc. The products here are drugstore and mostbbudget friendly. They are like a Rimnel range. So it's unfair to compare them with high end makeup.

I heard a lot about the Japanese brand Kate and their foundations 😍 please pretty pleaseeeee do a review on their foundation products!
I love the Canmake Perfect Serum BB Cream in 02. It's a little darker than a Korean shade 23 with a yellow undertone. I think you'd love it!
YES I'M ALREADY EXCITED BY THE TITLE
Morgan is so pretty! Especially now her dark roots have grown out 💕
Hi Morgannn!! I am Ayaka from Japan! I enjoyed your video:) I hate Anessa sunscreen because it is tooo thick for daily use. I like Biore sunmilk better. I recommend cosmetics from Coffret, Kate, Canmake, lavishka etc. Pretty much all japanese brands are great. They're all so high quality!
I have been using anessa for years , have tried other brands and always come back to anessa
the heroine mascara is one my favorite mascara! holds up my lashes like no other mascara!
I absolutely love the anessa sunscreen it lasts quite long throughout the day 💗
The small bottle usually needs to be shaken to ‘activate’ the sunscreen before you apply it onto the face :)
Aw this makeup is so cute and natural looking
The Sailor Moon Miracle Romance eyeliner is amazing if you’d like to try it! It is a bit pricy if you’re not in Asia, and quite watery- so if either of those things turn you off, I wouldn’t recommend it 😂😅

Canmake is nice because it's very cheap (at least in Japan) but is also intended for younger consumers so it can end up being a little more sheer.

You would love the biore gel sunscreen its a japan exclusive
Wow the mascara looks so good
needed no notif because I'm always on youtube....Thank you for this video! I'm traveling to Japan and hunting for japanese beauty products then :D
BirdsOfDarkness I hope you’ll have fun in Japan ;)

I'm really confusing about that mascara but I think I'll buy it after I've watched your review =)) thanks a lot 😆
You may want to try brands like Ipsa, RMK, Addiction or Lunasol next time
Hi, Morgan! I currently use and like Biore Watery Essence SPF 50++++ sunscreen. It has a gel-cream texture, absorbs well, and a light citrus scent. Hope this recommendation helps!
Annessa the bottle type is the best selling. The milky lotion type. But it contains alcohol.
hey girl🍀 you should try to some drugstore cosmetics called Biore sun screen, Kiss eyeshadow, and Excel all eye part products tho☺️
Girl try the Biore sunscreens! They're highly rated and they're pretty affordable too! 😊
It would be awesome if you did a wear test of these products ^^ or made another video of your update opinions?
Hi Morgan! You should check out Kim Dao's Top 100 Japanese Makeups video & Lisa Eldridge's Japanese Makeup video. They introduce alot of good Japanese makeup. Then come to Japan to do some makeup shopping.
the resealable bag is probably for travel to keep the product from possibly leaking onto other things maybe ?
nice video😍😂can you try doing korean makeup dupes in western drugstore makeup......cant wait
think she did it already
please explore more japanese make up!! I want to add them to my make up!!
8:51 SANA
WHAT IS LOVE
Hmm. I really liked the BB cream, the concealer, and the blush. :)
Ughhh Japanese makeup is so cute!!! I totally regret not buying some when I went to LA
Cosme website will provide top rating products in Japan do check it out! It definitely will be easier to know where you can start with Japanese products. Do try out Canmake cream blush, Biore products, Kate Tokyo and many more they are all really amazing cosmetics!
I think heavy rotation refers to a prominent Japanese girl group AKB48. One of their songs is called heavy rotation.
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO! Thank you
Hi Morgan, can u review a new japan product called Ettusais color filter jelly. Its almost like a bb cream, ive only seen it selling certain online website or found in japan.
Please make a review of Canmake's Perfect Serum BB Cream because I personally like it and I just want to know your opinion about it. Thanks :)
You follow Pony right? She uses Canmake concealer.
Biore sunscreen is the best japanese sunscreen. Canmake is good for a drug store brand but for high end Jill Stuart is really nice.
I think the Canmake Your Only Lip Balm was supposed to be used as a lip topper, like when you want to darken a lipstick..
the Biore sunscreens are amazing!! they are cheap too
Hey can you try Muji make up at some point? When I was in Japan I don't think it was that popular but they had a big variety of stuff and I always saw people at Muji being kind of curious about it but never buying it.
I do have a muji BB cream that turned out to be quite nice for my dry skin and the best concealer I've ever tried was from them and I haven't found a formula like that ever since...
Can you please tell us your favorite sunscreens?
For your dry lips.. apply lots of original vaseline overnight.. the next moring just use a tissue n wipe it...
Your expressions are so adorable. Don't know why
Canmake is popular in the Philippines too 😘
chini Canmake is everywhere in Thailand too. The small packaging is pretty unique. Great for portability!
I'm only familiar with *canmake* (aside from *biore* which we have on our local department store, especially their concealer palette (?) Cause it was used by Pony and Lamuqe 😄.
You kinda look like Liza Soberano when u put on you sun screen. So pretty!
I believe Japanese products and skincare work best in humidity.
Hey Morgan, have you tried Daiso Cosmetics?
You got the wrong sunscreen. Same brand and color but the popular one is really thin and milky.
:o never been this early to you vids woaaa (also you look different than usual when you don’t have makeup on!! Like a good different though)
I've never liked the Anessa sunscreen because it's too thick, I prefer the lesser known Parasola UV Cut gel and have been using it for years now!
Try the biore aqua rich watery essence sunscreen!
with the anessa, i think you used too much, it is supposed to be very light and not use too much
Please review more ettusais products! And hada labo
Pfft..
日本の化粧品だああああ。
can makeの化粧品は私も好きです。
