Home gym storage is super important if you have that “type a” in you. It is just nice to not have a ton of clutter
Yeah when my gym gets cluttered I get super bothered. What's your best piece of storage advice
@@NoFate247 wall control bar none
Yeah hard to argue against it for sure
Thank you for this breakdown! My life may be a shambles but my home gym is organized and optimized just the way I like it.
You and me both!!!
Rack-mount plate storage is so much nicer than lugging plates around, back and forth every time. Plus, it just looks cool.
I don't like the look but I agree it's much more convenient
It was only 8-10 feet from the barbell, but that commute to my plate tree got old real fast so I went with rack mounts for my smaller plates 10# and under. Probably took 10 minutes off my workout!
My cleat storage gets a lot of sexy clicks and can do everything in terms of wall storage. On top of that you can move things without the use of tools!
No more having to find a stud everything I want to move a barbell gun rack
Great video I’m definitely gonna look into the peg board and shelving
Yeah wall control is such a no brainer and it'll last forever
Good stuff Jonathon - very important topic for sanity in your space.
Yeah my workouts suffer when it feels cluttered
Thanks for being you and doin what you do brother man.
Still having fun with it so I will keep doing it
I think covering storage options for a home gym is certainly worth the watch. I am always looking for innovative ways to lay out my small space. I do have several wall control panels and I love them. Super easy to set up. They hold all my rack attachments and odds and ends. Thanks for the great review.
What color wall control you go with
@@NoFate247 My power rack is blue and white, so I went with white boards with blue hangers. Looks pretty dope IMO.
@@murdog04 i have a black rack and got black wall control to match it and it was a mistake. Almost all the attachments and stuff hanging on the wall control panels are also black and the lack of contrast is terrible, but not worth $200 to fix it at this point. Oops
How did I miss this in my feed the first time?
You are SO DEAD ON that nobody is talking about this but SOMEBODY needs to do it!
Great stuff
Thanks for being here. RUclips is weird what they push to people.
What's your favorite organizational tool for the home gym
@@NoFate247 carpenter, so I built my own from 2x6s and 4x6 posts
I love me some storage. Constantly trying to figure out how to get better storage. Probably going to have some custom pieces made from Black Widow
Love black widow!!!! What kind of pieces
@@NoFate247 thinkin about doing a rail system for barbell and landmind attachment storage. Probably do a batwing rack with trays as well.
Hey, you better watch out this Halloween, someone might come and egg your cold tub.
Don't scare me!!! There will be hell to pay 😂
I've been eating nothing but steak and cheese sandwiches from Mother's Pizza the past 20 years. Meet me at midnight, Mother's Pizza parking lot. We'll dip our hands in glue and broken Heineken bottles. Last man standing. @@NoFate247
But there wasn't. You pussied out and brought a knife. @@NoFate247
I have my dumbbells and my curl bar and my plates in my closet as storage
If it ain't broke don't fix it. How many dumbbells do you have
@@NoFate247 two 5 lbs two 10 lbs and two 15 lbs and four 10 pounds plates
Rack mounted weight horns are the way to go IMO. I’d rather have that than worrying about lifting inside the rack
People tend to prefer those. Which ones do you have
I like your style sir, keep it up! 😁
Thanks for watching and subscribing
Good storage can free up a ton of space in your home gym and keep things organized and readily accessible. Definitely worth optimizing.
What's your favorite piece of storage
@@NoFate247 Wall Control
@TheCarterHomeGym yeah so many advantages and takes up no space
Ultimate home gym is a DDR machine a stationary bike some free weights and a bench press too. Keep it up
You don't need much to be in phenomenal shape
That’s a nice mass storage rack.
I personally have a cheap scamazon garage storage 4 level rack and I build 2x4 garage storage on my wall.
What did the Amazon run if I don't mind me asking
@@NoFate247 if I remember correct it was about $100. It wasn’t the nice on with metal shelving like you had. It has partial board as the shelving.
Enjoyed the video including the cameo! I will say that my solution for loading the bar with a mobile plate tree is to set it up in front of the rack dead center so you have the same distance to travel to load and unload each side rather than biasing one side over the other. The rack shouldn’t be much more than 4-5 feet across so that’s not a long distance to walk imo.
Finally someone caught the cameo!
@@NoFate247 little known fact, “He Who Catches Cameos” is the translation of my last name from the old Gaelic 🤣
Perfect timing bro built my gym a month ago and keep adding and adding and NOW trying to organize it!
Yes the organization is so important but we often put it off for last. What are you thinking of getting to straighten your gym out
Trying to decide between upright storage and the metal peg boards you linked to. Will use your affiliate link if I go that way.@@NoFate247
Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it
Interior decorating is one of the best parts of the home gym experience. Customization to the extreme! Haha.
What's your home gym theme?
Im more concerned with storage these day because Im running out of room in my corner of the basement, so thank you.
Yeah that's the crux of the home gym problem....space
Well I hate to say it, but you're right. Storage is key and not enough attention is paid to it by the biggies (it's not sexy). But you gotta get that stuff out of the way and in it's place. You should do more about it.
I have the Rep KB rack (5' long, 2 shelves) and it holds them all (8k to 56k by 4k jumps) with no problem and gets them nicely off the floor. Was the cheapest solution.
Rep, Fringe sport, Stray dog all make some pretty cool wall mounted plate holders (which also work well for clamps).
I bought the cheapest amazon plate tree (and bumper plate holders) I could find. They work fine. (I think they were like $70 or so)
I see PRX has some cool wall mounted solutions esp for misc junk err stuff. I haven't tried them but they look cool.
Darko lifting has some very cool looking (I haven't tried) rack mounted barbell holders that go ABOVE your head.
The biggest problem with storage is specialty bars, axle bars and freaking trap bars. trap bars chew up so much room and don't really fit anywhere.
Trap bars are the worst!!!!
Why am I watching this commercial?
Nice editing by the way.
The editing is the hardest part, thanks for watching. What's your best advice for home gym storage that I didn't cover?
Free like and comment. I just throw shit on the floor and move it tomorrow. Unless it was a heavy DL, then it'll stay on bar for 3 days.
😂😂😂😂 to funny
I need a dumbbell rack.
What color would you get
which one is better plate tree? Titan with wheels or the Rep because BoS is too big and dont want no cheap ones on Amazon. And I only have a 4 poles rack only so still haven't put on my plate mounted rack storage cause not sure if it will get in the way of benching.
I would go rep over titan unless you think you will need to move it around daily.
@@NoFate247 thanks can't wait to see what's on sale Black Friday coming in a month. Reps been killing it with all the new equipment innovation. Wall mount functional trainer u can bench on and now the Adonis. oh my..
Do you think that the Muscle rack would hold 5-50lb dumbbells?
Absolutely
Storage Wars
😂😂😂😂😂 whats your best storage Saver advice
@@NoFate247utilize storage opportunities on a 6post rack. I really like mine set up in the flat-wing configuration
You left out in video the very real possibility of tripping over stuff on the floor and breaking your neck falling on other junk you have on floor.
Yeah that's a major concern when my kids come down to "play"
Nonsense - gym storage and organization IS very sexy
It is too me but not many
@@NoFate247 if you consider the opposite, your gym being a mess and stuff laying around where you can’t move easily or efficiently through a workout - organization is extremely attractive and impressive
My wife is going to make me stop watching your videos. I just used your affiliate link to buy some wall control, but with your 10% discount code, though. So maybe she won't get to made.
Explain to her that it'll last a lifetime 3x over and American made... :)
