Its the parents responsibility not to give their children phones with internet access. The majority of homeschoolers don't give their kids phones.
It's the responsibility of the tech sites. They have been censoring political speech, they have been censoring the covid19 vaccine information, every day they censored truthful information about Jan 6th. Innocent people are still in jail. There should be no pornography or pedophiles abusing children, (or horney creeps looking for children) on anything public, that the taxpayers money is being used. There are children being raped on those sites, and that's not censored? It is on purpose and it is evil. Don't blame the parents for giving their children a phone or access to the internet. The schools do everything on the internet now, no more papers to parents. Assignments are online, research etc. If I didn't know the truth, I would probably agree with you. It is something that those companies can stop. The question is why aren't they.
To an extent I do agree. For example, when the Hub pulled out of that one state because they refused requiring users to put an ID I agree with the Hub there. Since it is an 18+ site and they made it clear it is 18+ from the start. That's the fault of the parents or any guardian figure, not the website.
However, in terms of Meta, yeah they make it out that their for those 13+ and absolutely should be held responsible for not taking down pedophile rings.

Senator Hawley's call to unanimously pass the bill was objected to by Senator Ron Wyden (D-Ore.).
Following Senator Wyden's objection, Senator Hawley noted that the STOP CSAM Act has unanimous bipartisan support in the Judiciary committee, and he committed to forcing votes on the legislation as long as it takes to get justice for the victims.

Warren needs a soul
Protecting children should never take a back seat to freedom of speech and profits for big tech. There has been a lot of talk over the last few years about this issue. I appreciate that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg apologized to the families of abuse victims. The time has come however, to bring this issue out of the dark, and insist that big tech do more. We can do better.
While I do agree, there also does need to be a level of accountability upon the parents, too.
It's like that one case where a state was trying to force the Hub to have users required to present an ID and the Hub pulled out of that state. The Hub is specifically an 18+ site. It says a warning before you enter that it's an 18+ site.
A parent shouldn't be allowed to sue the Hub for their child being exposed to it when the site is clearly 18+. That's bad parenting. But in the case of Meta, absolutely I agree that it should be sued.
