thank you thank you thank you! the same little switch gave me problems yesterday night while playing mgs2 with my friend and while trying to fix it the switch broke. if it wasn't for this video i wouldn't have been able to fix it because i did't know what contacts to bridge. now my ps2 that i had since i was in primary school works again only because of you 👍
I soldered it like instructed. The PS2 turns on and I still get movements up and down in the disk drive when pressing down the front switch, but it still won't spin the disk though. I guess this PS2 just has been played too much on.

Is it really this easy?? I've had my PS2 Slim 'broken' for over a decade now thinking it was a faulty motor. Thank you for this.
It could be this easy but there is multiple things that can go wrong
I have one with those 4 pads completely ripped. Any idea which pad they correspond to on the back of the board?
Anything can be easy to fix once you understand what it does :)

Hello! I have the not spinning problem and soldered those 2 contact points but it still doesn't spin. What could the problem be?

Sounds like one of the ribbons needs to be replaced
If I close the tray of my ps2 my whole ps2 shuts off you think that this works if I bypass it or do you know any solutions?
