    You can’t just put this on COVID. Employees are aware they have no privacy they are being surveilled by the company from their computer. They don’t have and are not allowed to have human interaction bc it’s tracked. These employees are just putting their heads down to meet productivity benchmarks. Super fun direction we are headed.

      There should be no "privacy" AT WORK. Someone is paying you to produce. Not talk, chat, gossip, or be a social butterfly. These people are recluses that got to work at home for YEARS and now want all the creature comforts of home, at work. Because they are incredibly weak people.

      @@Thomas-he4wk you'd think that, yet, you can't capture lightning in a bottle. How many companies or business ideas came out of gathering people with similar skills and letting them be at ease rather than needlessly surveilled?
      Track KPIs & sensitive data, that should be the legal limit of employee surveillance.
      As someone from an ex-socialist country, this constant intrusiveness, open distrust placquaded with motivational posters & "socialising exercises" gives rather worrying, police-state vibes. And its worse when it's a company, since it has no moral claims.
      Also, if transparency is good for business, why does management have a private office? They are *most* in violation of that premise.

      If you watched the whole video, they laid off her boss and department too; she was on the phone with two random people from the HR department. Within the video they also couldn't giver he specifics on what her productivity dodge the question entirely with no specifics, she wasn't even on a PIP (performance in progress) program. She was trained for 3 months (STANDARD IN ALL TECH FIRMS/BUSINESS) because they're not gonna give you the keys to the production right away cause they want to train you first on how they conduct their processes within the company. She became a full time employee the last week of November and a month later they a laid her off. In a corporate setting she barely even worked a month because no one is in the office during the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas which was explained in her video. In the end though, the HR department only had to say is, "we are taking the business in a different direction and your current department and job role don't fit in this new direction." Which they didn't, they just dodge the questions like a politician.

Rockwell Automation in Milwaukee did exactly the same thing, the same process, the same ambush notifications when they laid off 75% of their IT staff in October 2019 (including me). It didn't matter what justification was presented, Wisconsin is an "at will" state and can lay off employees for any reason as long as it isn't illegal. Irresponsible way to treat people, and I suspect Brittany fell foul of the same "at will" policy. Bravo to her for standing up for herself, but she was never going to win.

    Good to know that it ended up well for her because usually when people stand up it gets worse, they get removed right away from the rehiring pool. No wonder no one wants to talk to each other these days at the office, there always been a lot of backstabbing but these days is to the fullest everywhere. In tech companies these days is rare the people that last many years or decades in the same job. I only knew a case of a woman who has been working for about 15 years in the same IT company. That company has changed owners several times, massive layoffs, you name it and she has been there all that time. Unfortunately she is known as a topnotch bootlicker, use your imagination to figure out what kind of dirty methods she has been used to stay there and imagine how many people she has back stabbed since she joined (btw she is not a hardworker, she is lazy). The over hiring in my country is like a tradition, the guys who make the forecast revenues always screw it up so their parachute is to always be overstaffed so they can always "reach" the goal and save there ass3s at the expense of the lives of others who will be kicked out mercilessly without any reason and with an extreme short notice...

    Let’s focus on the questionable part of her termination. They told her she’s being terminated due to poor performance, but then do not have that evidence illustrating / supporting that claim. Knowing they have adverts for recruiting new sales staff, this seems to be a matter of either new sales people are hired to get leads and are let go before those leads close so existing, long time employed sales team close the deals and get all the credit / financial rewards that come with that. And / Or, the company has hiring incentives from government programs that pay them for all new hires as long as they are not released without cause. Poor performance is a cause for termination that could be a loophole in retaining any government incentives.
    There needs to be a hardcore, journalist investigation into this organization to understand if any churn practice of new employees is part of a financial strategy.

      @@BadStructuralEngineeringFirms - Nothing illegal happened, her contract has a clause for performance probationary review, which is standard in almost every professional sales job in most countries.
      What's happened here is that she's misled the employer in her interviews by overselling herself and lying about her experience and skills; that allowed her to get her foot in the door but when push came to shove, she couldn't actually do the job at all.
      This happens all the time, lots and lots of people apply for professional sales roles because the pay is substantially good, and you can earn serious money if you've negotiated an uncapped commission structure as part of your contract, but most people who apply for these roles don't have any experience in professional sales.
      To be clear, if you're someone who spent a few years sitting at a desk for some call centre making outbound calls trying to sell insurance or trying to sell phone contracts or trying to sell internet packages, then that's not professional sales, that's just an entry-level job.
      It is that type of environment where she's come from, and I can see that from how she speaks, for instance:
      1. She mentioned a "performance improvement plan". This is not something which exists in professional sales, it is something which derives from entry level jobs where they look to teach you certain skills to help you improve at your job. If you've applied for a professional sales role, then the employer is buying into your skill set and the value that you bring to the company (by means of how much revenue you're going to bill to your desk). If you lie about that in your interview (which many do) then you are going to drown when you sit at your desk (which many also do lol).
      2. She makes reference to "activity". I can tell you that nobody cares what your activity is: so long as what you're doing is legal, does not invoke complaints, maintains a good relationship with the client, then nobody cares how hard you're working. The only thing that matters is your results. If you can pull in exceptionally good results in 2 hours and want to spend the rest of your day messing about then nobody is going to bat an eye lid at you. But if you spend 10 hours at the job and don't have anything to show for it, then there's a serious problem and you're not suited for the industry.
      People need to understand that it is generally professional sales roles that bring in the money for these business which allow them to pay for everybody's job lol. It is high stress, results driven, high demand, and fast-paced; and if you can't handle it, then you need to get out of the way for somebody who can do it.
      It's quite a small industry because it's often specialised (in the sense that people tend to stick to their field and don't deviate from it), consequently name dropping happens quite frequently at event conferences and almost all the time there's competitors trying to head hunt you to poach you from rival businesses.
      These people are paid well for good reason.

      Lol. You can't even see she is being used by other companies. A rush to publicly offer a job to socially pat themselves on the back, only to make their brand look better. This is why social media is crap. She also spergged out because she knew she was recording and needed a reaction for her followers. Gross.

This girl felt entitled and was demanding answers from HR? Telling the company what to do by saying they need to explain to her in detail?
    No, that isnt the real world. And she should be very very thankful she did get offered a job, because most good job, big corps will never hire her because she is a poison pill.

    Poor baby, welcome to the real world. Pathetic. "you need a safe space?" "your fired, feel safe at home" Any employer can fire you at any time and you never argue with or explain to the person being fired. It will get heated, argumentative, and is the stuff of law suits. "We don't need you, sorry, here is your last check, vacate the office."

    She seems uncooperative and adversarial. The first 90-days is typically a probationary period. They don't need to give you a reason to fire you. The company made a smart move dodging a cancer cell.

    • @IntheMOMENT22173
      @IntheMOMENT22173 6 месяцев назад

      I thought about that too. It seems to me that she was under the probationary period. They can let you go during that time if you are not performing well. That appears to be the excuse they gave. I think the issue is the way that they handled the firing process. Also, it doesn't seem right that she wasn't notified of the fact that she wasn't performing up to standard. I feel that should have been addressed while she was working for them. They should have gave her the opportunity to improve...unless...it's an excuse.

    Self entitled much? So you lost your job-big deal. Why do you think you have the right to "demand" anything here? It wasn't a good fit-move along. It sucks getting fired, but this video just shows how self centered this new generation is. Why film it? Why show everyone? "look at me!" What a joke. Good luck finding another job.

      The problem is that she is clearly being fired by non-playable characters, who might as well be a AI bots reading a canned script. She asked for an explanation, and can't get any specifics. This could be grounds for wrongful termination, if the company can't produce a specific reason why you are being fired, with specific information to support it.

    • @geena8414
      @geena8414 5 месяцев назад

      @@carultch I guess that depends on what state this occurred. In CA for example, it is an at will state, meaning you can quit or be fired for any reason. But I wonder what the legality of her video is. Without consent from all parties, this video might not be legal in court. An interesting dilemma indeed...
