Brad I am Italian and Indian. My hair stylist looked at my skin color which is chocolate brown. Because I cover my hair She said, “since your hair is so course and difficult to handle, can you please wash and condition your hair before you come back for your appointment.” I uncovered my hair to show her my hair type. She couldn’t get pass my skin color. I thought about Brad through my tears, went to the store and bought dark brown. My hair came out amazing! I've had a similar experience. I went in with my hair flat ironed, so I guess she thought I had straight hair. When wet, it went back to its thick, curly self. She cut it,but the whole time, she was saying how she's not used to "my kind of hair." She then asked me to blow dry and style it myself!!!

I experienced something similar as a kid, after that experience I won’t go to anyone without curly hair but i rarely ever go to salons. I learned how to do my own hair which for me, is the best decision I’ve ever made for my hair Also, Italian and Indian is a beautiful mixture 😍

I've always found it strange that hair stylists aren't taught how to do ALL hair types. We should be able to walk in any salon and they know how to do it. I have thick curly 4a-4b black hair so I understand your struggle.
I always love a bleach fail video but I also love the instructional videos. Bobs are all the rage and they vary. It would be wonderful to have Brad explain the differences and how to achieve the look. For someone that hasn’t found a stylist in my rural area who hasn’t suggested just putting in layers when I show them an Italian bob with a flip on the end, I am in need of some to make a video and why not have the best make that video.
Some box dye tips: - if you can't find what level of developer they put in there on the box or in the instructions, look at the bottom of the bottle of developer or the cap. Sometimes they print the number there in black/blue ink. Also box dyes don't typically come with developers less than 20vol. If you don't need this high of a level, you can dilute it with water. Some dilution proportions: - from 30vol to 20vol (2 parts dev : 1 part water) - from 30vol to 10vol (1 part dev : 2 parts of water) - from 20vol to 10vol (1 part dev : 1 part water) Also ammonia-free dyes aren't less damaging. It's just a marketing gimmick. They simply put other ingredients that do the same thing as ammonia, but worse, so they usually have to put more of them than they would have ammonia. Which isn't great for hair. Substitute ammonia components like ethanolamine tend to smell less, but linger on the hair even after washing the dye out a couple of times w/ shampoos which results in a worse long-term hair damage. Ammonia is on your hair only for 30-40 minutes and washes out w/o issues. If you want to have less hair damage from dying then use lower developer and/or "low-ammonia dyes" without ethanolamine or simply don't apply the dye on your length for as much time as you do on the roots if you're refreshing your usual color. It's simply unnecessary.
Hi, Brad, I watch you a lot because I am in college and I am a single mom, so I cannot afford to get my hair done professionally right now. I hate this, it is terrifying doing your hair on your own! Please go easy on these girls, they are probably in the same boat as me, so money(or lack of)is the reason that some of us take these horrible risks!
As a hairstylist, I find these videos so comical🤣 you give me Ryan Phillippe circa 1999 vibes…. even your voice sounds like him and that’s a huge compliment❤
I hope you do more henna videos, Brad. I understand people want to use chemical dyes and not henna, but I love henna because it is natural and non-damaging.
The worst allergic reaction I've ever had was to henna dye. Put me in the hospital. Just a warning for anyone that assumes henna is a "safe" dye because it's "natural". This was after a patch test, too. Apparently, some reactions won't appear until you put a whole lot of it on yourself, so patch tests aren't actually a failsafe either.
@@QueenBoudicca125 Well, I am allergic to chemical hair dyes, and threw up once. Of course some people are allergic to pure henna, but it’s far less damaging to your hair. Putting bleach on your hair is a very damaging process. I do not even like to clean with bleach. Chemical hair dyes also smell. Henna is a leaf from a plant and ground up. Many people are looking for natural alternatives, and there are benefits to using products from nature. I know there is some hate on this, but I guess talking about this on a stylist page is not the place to do it.
Oh, I'm so glad that all three of them managed to keep their hair as healthy as possible and had fairly good results. Good for you girls! And I really want to mention that Brad seems so peaceful and healthy now. I don't know what caused this, but I'm loving this for you! It seems like you reached Zen!

10:51 Love how he went “WHY ARE THE ROOTS WAY LIGHTER THAN THE ENDS-“ and then proceeds to explain the most logical science behind it in hairdresser language 😹🙌
In cosmology school and I had to be gone the week we went over coloring hair in depth in theory and I feel so lost. I’m watching a lot of your videos especially on color to help me with do and don’ts.
Finally, I was wondering when you were going to tell people that they could use a lower developer on their Roots and a higher developer on their ends when doing an all-over head! I can not do my roots after having dye all over my ends .I can't get to my roots that way, so I go into my roots first, but I use a lower developer on my roots because they're going to lift super quick from the heat on your head.
@@rainbows5232 whenever I get the “i just broke up” client , iI recommend not doing “drastic changes to one’s hair.” You can definitely change your look. I beg of you to wait a month ir twi; until the “love and heartbreak chemicals” level out in your brain.

Someone needs to tell lovely Brad that here in the UK we don't have bleach supplies commonly sold any way except in a box. We don't get the tubs like at Sally's, where you have to calculate mixtures at home. The boxes usually have several packs of bleach powder, then we can buy bottles of 20, 30 or 40 vol peroxide, & it's just a one to one ratio. Also, the peroxide doesn't seem as strong, so even with light brown hair, I have to use 40 vol to get a good lift, lower does nothing. There are a few proper supply stores, but they're not everywhere.
i don't know! just that i wasn't allowed to buy anything (developer, dye), they said you need proof you work in the industry. but you can buy the packets at the drugstore. it doesn't make sense!@@MileyObsession96
When Brad said "Hi beautiful" I responded with "Hi beautiful" ❤ Loved this video. I'm still in disbelief about how the last girls hair turned out. The colour looks really good on her. I'm glad they're happy with the end results. Already excited for the next video Brad. I love you ❤️
2 things Mr. Mondo!!! 1. Can I please please please get a hair care video for actual gingers. Why is it so different than other haiiiir? and 2. Can we get a copper glaze color so I can refresh my color with out changing it dramatically! The redhead community would love you for it....
"Salon DIY": What I say whenever anyone asks me where I get my hair done. The price is right, & you're allowed to have a couple beverages and/or smoke some weed during the process if you're so inclined 😏. Brad's videos are an invaluable resource for cutting and coloring. Bonus - I sound like I know what I'm talking about during hair conversations!

I am so grateful that brands are now listening and some of them have the developer volume on the box. Its been two years since my blonde hair and I will never bleach it again. I went from really long hair to above the chin length hair and it is now is heathy again and long after two years of just looking after it and not touching it with bleach. Oh and thank god Australian laws are so different here. Box dyes are not allowed to have anything higher then 30 volume in them and soon all brands will have to state what volume is in the box. I may not been professionally trained but since my hair fail I have done nothing but obese over how to bring my hair back. Yes I visited my hair professionally to get a plan in place to begin with but I have not seen here to cut my hair in over a year, I wanted to have it grow out more before I cut it, now I did go back to her three times after the emergency, but haven't for over year and I trim the ends every three months myself because I want less off cause my goal is to have my hair to my bum lol. The only people that have ANY business bleaching hair are PROFESSIONAL HAIRSTYLISTS…you get what you pay for, people can complain all they want, but my hairdresser works very hard, does a great job on my naturally dark hair, and deserves what he changes, with his many years of experience and training.
I bleached my hair over 100 times. Each time ended in severe breakage and hair that resembled the bristles of a broom. You could sweep the floor with my head. Never again.
Egh.... I've bleached my hair and others a countless number of times. I always have a great result, on mine and on everyone else's I've ever done. It's really not hard, for me personally, but I do feel if you're scared or nervous you'll probably forget something/mess up simply because you're so nervous lol.
I’ll be honest… I actually like the orange look after bleach 😅 When I was getting my hair dyed I actually had so happy with the bleached yellow blonde, I was ready to walk out already. Also redheads/gingers are beautiful 🧡

in boxed dyes the developer is 10-20 vol. in boxed blonde bleaching kits the developer is 20-22 vol. These level of vol developers are the threshold manufacturers have agreed to use to avoid law suits with the assumption most customers dont have allegeric reactions and further makes note of dy allergies in their include literature. they also tell you not to bleach already processed hair. they dont talk about the potentil for damage caused by over processing hair but they do say dont do it!
I currently have pink-ish copper hair thanks to L'oreal Intense Rose Gold box dye, I'm so glad I dont need bleach with it coz I love the color so so much. Been keeping the color for about 4 months now.
I have heterochromia of the hair so my bangs actually grow in metallic copper and the rest of my hair is a really pretty deep brown... I do not look good with the copper bangs and i hate it because I physically have to cover them every month.. So least yall did it once...
If you don’t know what has caused it, you Might wanna get some blood tests done, there’s a big correlation between that and iron deficiency anemia along with a few other skin conditions.
@ciani2396 Well that's completely untrue. Heterochromia is literally just an extra gene causing a different color/ texture to show up on your body. I've had it since birth. My twin sister and none of my siblings nor my mom had it. That's what I meant. Thank you WebMD.

- if you can't find what level of developer they put in there on the box or in the instructions, look at the bottom of the bottle of developer or the cap. Sometimes they print the number there in black/blue ink.
Also box dyes don't typically come with developers less than 20vol. If you don't need this high of a level, you can dilute it with water.
Some dilution proportions:
- from 30vol to 20vol (2 parts dev : 1 part water)
- from 30vol to 10vol (1 part dev : 2 parts of water)
- from 20vol to 10vol (1 part dev : 1 part water)
Also ammonia-free dyes aren't less damaging.
I’m a hairdresser myself I’ve been watching his videos since I was in cos school in like 2018 pls never stop they will forever be entertaining to me😭😭
Hi, Brad, I watch you a lot because I am in college and I am a single mom, so I cannot afford to get my hair done professionally right now.
Thank you for the compliment. I'm wearing your new shade shifting blue to purple color and I love it!
That first gal looks _amazing_ with red hair!
Nothing better on a rainy Sunday than an upload from Brad☂️💜🖤
Copper is life. We have a muse here in Brazil, actress Marina Rui Barbosa, and a big copper community. I am one.
When you say "hi beautiful" I respond "hi Brad"🤣🤣
Yes lol
It’s giving “Hi Angels” “Hi Charlie”
Me tooo! XD
Me too, even when I know I’m not looking particularly beautiful lol
Same! By husband often is next to me when I watch so he has gotten into the habit of saying hi too lol Everytime 😂
I never get tired of these videos
@@QueenBoudicca125 It might have been black henna. It is not as safe as normal henna and things like that can happen!!
@@QueenBoudicca125that wasn’t henna honey
@@nowirehangers2815how do you know??? lol what
How did the first girlie not panic at alllllll 😂 I would be crying lol. Turned out great in the end though!
Oh, I'm so glad that all three of them managed to keep their hair as healthy as possible and had fairly good results. Good for you girls! And I really want to mention that Brad seems so peaceful and healthy now. I don't know what caused this, but I'm loving this for you! It seems like you reached Zen!
Been looking for videos of brown to ginger as I am going ginger in two weeks (in salon, won’t catch me in a fail video like I know I’d be), was SO EXCITED to see you react to these!!
Never get tired of watching these! Love your commentary. I've never dyed my hair but I learn something new all the time!
Picked up your color shifting Red/Purple. Can't wait to try it💜🦋🔮🪷
WOW,,,,JUST WOW!!! They all look DAMN AMAZING. I can't believe they are not natural reds. Just beautiful. Of I looked that great with red hair I'd keep it F'n forever no matter what the cost.
I just got my hair shaven off and the tiny rest of it is dyed purple and I love it. I always wanted a buzz cut and it took me like 9 years to get it, lol.
Congratulations. 🎉🎉🎉
I have purple violet at the moment and I love it. I hope both the buzz and the purple makes you happy. You deserve it 😊
@@charisma-hornum-fries Thank you very much :D
Yes, I am very happy. People are a bit shocked at first, but they like it too :D
Oh, purple/violet is one of my favorite hair colors.
I'm a bottle blonde. Thanks to Brad's double process video NONE of my hair fell out. Or broke off. Or did anything we don't want it to do. Thanks Brad!💖
10:51 Love how he went “WHY ARE THE ROOTS WAY LIGHTER THAN THE ENDS-“ and then proceeds to explain the most logical science behind it in hairdresser language 😹🙌
Thank you for suffering through this with us Brad, you're the best!
You are so pretty, I've had my hair a similar shade of purple, it's my favorite. Love the matching eye shadow too!
Broke up today so I'm coping with this video and bleaching my hair next week, perfect timing
🥺💕 sending hugs
me too, broke up a week ago
@@rainbows5232 whenever I get the “i just broke up” client , iI recommend not doing “drastic changes to one’s hair.” You can definitely change your look. I beg of you to wait a month ir twi; until the “love and heartbreak chemicals” level out in your brain.
It’s a month later and I’m hoping that you’re dealing with the break up fairly well. Hopefully you’re over the crying stage and the angry stage, and now you’re just at the it’s OK I’ve grown stage. Hugs
now im seeing someone new, before i felt like i would die, now i feel too optimistic haha
You can't buy stuff online in the UK?
Wait I’m confused because I’m also in the uk and I’ve seen a Sally’s store so we really can’t get bleach powder? I honestly didn’t know that
yeah in Canada only cosmetologists and hairdressers can buy that stuff in stores. luckily the internet does not gaf if i have a hair styling diploma.
woooo i got a bucket of lightening powder from India (it worked great.)
i don't know! just that i wasn't allowed to buy anything (developer, dye), they said you need proof you work in the industry. but you can buy the packets at the drugstore. it doesn't make sense!@@MileyObsession96
That first girl is so beautiful with her soft, cherubic features! 😍 I hope she never lets anyone touch her face!
When Brad said "Hi beautiful" I responded with "Hi beautiful" ❤
Loved this video. I'm still in disbelief about how the last girls hair turned out. The colour looks really good on her. I'm glad they're happy with the end results.
Already excited for the next video Brad. I love you ❤️
The 5 o clock shadow is your perfect you! Love it! So much!
Okay, when did Brad turn into like the 4th Hemsworth brother?! XD
I know right
lol the look on your face when she said. " im going to mix all 3 boxes together" lol
2 things Mr. Mondo!!! 1. Can I please please please get a hair care video for actual gingers. Why is it so different than other haiiiir? and 2. Can we get a copper glaze color so I can refresh my color with out changing it dramatically! The redhead community would love you for it....
There are a million variations of what people call “red” or ginger, and it depends on the level of the red, too. Do you have access to Shades EQ?
@@rain3743 Im just a person with a MC1R gene wanting to be represented lol
I love these ginger videos because I dye my hair ginger at home😭 I learn from their mistakes

Love your facial hair. Love the whole 80s Lost Boy look!
Brads hair has been looking gorgeous recently ❤
I used XMondo Color and 1000/1000 recommend!! My curls and hair have never been so incredible after color!
The first girl was so calm and collected in a situation where I would have been in full panic mode lol

Just dyed my hair ginger this morning!
the first girl scared me so much i was so stressed but it came out so good!!
Just came over to watch some beautiful Brad after finishing a really terrible true crime vid over on another channel that left me in tears, so here, Thank you for being here Brad, we aren't all here for the hair all the time. Sometimes it's just to see your beautiful self ❤❤❤
Love the ginger theme video for St. Patty's Day! ☘
paddy's! lol, i don't really care. the irish, tho...
and yeah, considering red again!
@@goldensloth7 Hey, Irish person here and... well i suppose we might mistake Patty for a woman but there's also a lot of controversy about calling it Paddy's Day given paddy used to be quite a derogatory name for Irish ppl back when it was a bad time to be Irish tbh so. I dunno how many Irish ppl would come out in force demanding the correction.
@@goldensloth7its called saint Patrick's day... sooo patty is correct.
I have had hair fails from hairdressers before and I am so scared of them, I finally found one that listens to me and does what I want and also gives with great advice that I follow.
I had black and been ginger for years now i love it x
I'm always amazed at how the most disastrous ones end up looking the best.
can we talk about Brad's glow up during all these years?!
i love watching these. if anybody colors hair. buy brads stuff. my daughter loves it and there is no damage for it. i have not dyed my hair for over 10 years and my hair is so much better for it.
Brad being stuffy but still making a video for us 🥺❤️
I'm a couple of minutes in and wondered why he was sounding like a surfer dude
I was deathly ill while making this haha
@@BradMondo We appreciate and love you! I watched this while going through a loss of pregnancy and you still managed to make me smile and laugh~
I love it when you say “you look beautiful today” and I have a sinus infection and haven’t gotten out of bed for two days 🙃😂
I’m never going to bleach my hair 😭 too scared after all these vids on the internet
I bleached my hair and I regret it because I had to shave all my hair off because it got extremely damaged.
@@AmyLeeAngelLove I will never bleach my hair again. Bleach is too damaging.
Egh.... I've bleached my hair and others a countless number of times. I always have a great result, on mine and on everyone else's I've ever done. It's really not hard, for me personally, but I do feel if you're scared or nervous you'll probably forget something/mess up simply because you're so nervous lol.
I was crossing my fingers, hoping it would come out right I’m glad it did and it looks beautiful on her. Was hanging on the edge of my seats.
The first girl looked amazing with the red hair and very natural. However, the black looked soooo good. It make her look so edgy and beautiful 😮
This is crazy! I would never color my own hair. Even all over color doesn't come out right. And post themselves! Love it
This video gave me SO much anxiety!! I’ve done my hair and luckily it’s never fallen out. 😂😂😂😂 love your reactions!!
The last one really killed me!!!!
I’ll be honest… I actually like the orange look after bleach 😅
When I was getting my hair dyed I actually had so happy with the bleached yellow blonde, I was ready to walk out already.
Also redheads/gingers are beautiful 🧡
No Brad YOU look incredible🔥❤️
That last girl was wild! Loved it. Id say shes bang on how most girls are, we have no clue and just go for it!
Is it just me or Brad’s voice got deeper
Yeah, it kind of threw me off because I just came from another video where his voice does not sound like this😅😂
My fine hair lifts super quick. I do 10 min bleach baths & it's lifts me like 2-3 levels 🤷♀️😊
Wow, early crew where are you? I’m so excited for this video, you just made my day infinitely better Brad! Thank you for always calling me beautiful 💜
Brad to me is rocking a George Micheal ‘Wham’ Club Tropicana look and I approve
Brad is giving me George Michael Faith vibes for real.... so nostalgic.
“You have 85 colors in your hair “ 😂
Bradfordsonington, you make every day brighter and more positive just being you.
Not Brad saying "wolf cut" and getting mild heart attack 😂
Right, so funny.
I am just obsessed with your teaching method and you're so good I cant tell you. I have tried your butterfly haircut and it came out magic I literally love love love your videos Brad you're such a master with not a gold a diamond platinum heart.💝❤ OP man you're a true dresser I learnt a lot from you.
in boxed dyes the developer is 10-20 vol. in boxed blonde bleaching kits the developer is 20-22 vol.
I think that heavily depends on the brand and where in the world you are. Bleach London kits are 30vol for example
"You guys seem to have a way of making everything harder than it is." Story of my life! 😂😂😂
Yessss keep the red head vids coming!
So least yall did it once...
sad to hear you dont like it cause metallic copper sounds amazing!
@diejaykaynz3r078 I'm a dark winter so I do better with blues than reds. It hurts my soul cuz it IS pretty but not on me :'(
That's interesting (I went and had a look on google) thanks for sharing
If you don’t know what has caused it, you Might wanna get some blood tests done, there’s a big correlation between that and iron deficiency anemia along with a few other skin conditions.
@ciani2396 Well that's completely untrue. Heterochromia is literally just an extra gene causing a different color/ texture to show up on your body. I've had it since birth.
My twin sister and none of my siblings nor my mom had it. That's what I meant.
Thank you WebMD.
