I love Bobby and I've enjoyed being a part of his radio to family for over 30 years. I'm surely going to wholeheartedly miss tuning in to eagerly listen to what he has to say almost every weekday morning at 9am and wanting Stormy to hurry up so I can hear his voice. Yes, I'm absolutely going to miss that. What is Memphis radio with Bobby O'Jay? Who could ever fill his shoes? Bobby KNEW music and he embodied class and exemplified decency, professionalism, humility and an overall great human being. I will miss his morning celebrity news and gossip, his infectious voice, his laughter and candor...and his "Bobbyology". Bobby is LEGENDARY and ICONIC indeed and this has been a HUGE loss for the community and radio. There will NEVER be another Bobby O'jay. Bobby O'Day spent some time as morning host on 102.7 WBMX in Chicago in the late 70s and early 80s. He was Tom Joynrr's successor ( Tom went to WJPC before leaving for Dallas) and the predecessor to Doug Banks . Bobby made a song called "I Love My Job"
