Yeah James struggled vocally during this song and here are some reasons to look at:
1: night 2 of a back to back show
2: look at the set list before they performed this song. Extremely difficult!
3: the song itself is vocally very challenging
4: the song has never been performed live
5: the pressure from fans to hear it live
I strongly believe if they were to perform this song again that James would nail it, vocally speaking! They should start the show off with this song.
This was night 1. And it was not back to back. The shows were one day apart. However, the other points are pretty valid. Cheers.
His vocal performance throughout 72 Seasons I dare say is his best. Inamorata being the stand-out.
I believe they never played this live because James can't sing it properly. With Spit out the Bone they had a similar issue, and ended up using Robert to help.
this was not a perfect live version but it still beautiful... by 0:08 i almost fainted, i quickly recognized that sound, by 0:22 i kept screaming they are playing fixxxer, they are playing fixxxer... it was amazing 🤘
I couldn't believe they were playing it until the tape ended and they actually starting playing. Such a great feeling it was
I was at this concert, was cool to see this live for the first time.
I saw Metallica live back in 2017, in Baltimore, the Baltimore Ravens stadium was packed with tens of thousands of people and I was standing no more than 30 feet away from the stage, it was incredible, there is nothing like a live Metallica concert
8:20 That was the first one, first time there. Now you know why.
We know now why? Why?
@@AnibalAvelar It's a tough song to sing, and James struggled a lot. It's great as a studio song, but not so much as a live one. The crowd looks bored out of its mind.
@@chtimixeur I agree with the first argument, it’s a little tough to play and sing, but not about it’s bored, it’s an amazing song, obviously it’s not a faster song but it has awesome lyrics and riffs, it’s for listen it quiet like nothing else matters… may be the bandwagoners could think is bored
@@AnibalAvelar Well, I've always loved it, but it fell flat as a live song. It's just too slow, and it's not of these songs where the crowd can join in and sing. Also, there's a part where James doesn't have much to do.
I hope they fix the flubs in post and make this show available for purchase. I’d buy it even with the flubs I don’t care.
I’m surprised the crowd wasn’t screaming when the heard the intro
Was thinking exactly the same!
They were, it's this recording is the problem
Too busy on their phones recording this moment.
Dope seats! The people behind first row can see shit. Thx for the upload.
Thanks! This was Row 11.. but there was only actually about 5 rows in front of us.. Great seats for sure.
@@MichaelGrosvenor how $$$$$$ for the seats friend
Guessing this song was very played live, cool ending song to ReLoad🤘
Only took them 20+ years to get around to it lol
Took them long enough lol
I had to wait my whole life time for this
@@johnwoods1728 that's from another song.. 😆
@@thomasscherrer8393 you talking about outlaw torn? Love that song
This song is so difficult on vocals, James did his best to accurate with the notes range
Juhuuuu 🤗🤗🤗🤗✌️✌️✌️😎
Does Lars have a ride cymbal on that kit????
Yep. Brought up for the song. He had one up for Bleeding Me as well.
Amazing
What’s a ride symbol
Does anyone have the full show of the second night broadcast?
Love it.
They should play cover for Iron Man, what you think?
They have in black sabbath introduction to the hall of fame
Was a awesome show shame BIg Mic wasn't there for the sound it woulda have been much better.
Where is Big Mick

Hi Michael!
Anthony! What is up, dude?!
@@MichaelGrosvenor Aw nothin just reliving cool moments on RUclips haha
This song is for real fans and it should be played on small places not stadiums, it’s to enjoy , not for crowd (bandwagons)
The song should be played for anyone that bought a ticket
Metclub only, which this was.
I think the CDC has their new promo song for vaccine distribution...😉
Wish it was much better for the first time ever performance! There is a lyric monitor infront of him ..🤘🏻❤️
Vocal struggle within james
Poor Het, really struggled on that one. Felt bad for him. Surprised he didn’t work that out in rehearsals. Maybe he’s got a cold?
I don't think so, his concerts lately his voice hasn't been what it used to. Think it's just the age. Sucks but it was bound to happen soon
true just keep in mind sound quality on this is totally crap to begin with.
It wasn’t easy. I’m sure he rehearsed it a lot, it was just hard for his throat and vocal range.
You’re wrong, man he supposed to sound like that on this particular song. Listen studio version of this song you will understand.
@@mywifesexualpartner984 You are kidding me right? Sure, he was trying to do that. That is why in the middle of the second verse he tries to go low and growly. I was anticipating them playing this song, so I listen to that studio version quite a bit this week. He is visually uncomfortable and pissed off that it is not going well. After the song he comments that “that’s why we have never played it before”
Weak crowd...wait its san Fran so that figures
There were a lot of people in the crowd from other countries. If anything it was a pretty international crowd. I hear the crowd was more lively during the second night.
