Fun fact: shawn actually wrote A Little Too Much about himself and his struggles with anxiety, but he wasn't ready to talk about himself directly, so he wrote it from a third person POV
Fun fact : The bridge of I know what you did last summer was spontaneous, They were facing each other in the studio with a glass separating them, and they sang this to each other and it ended up amazingly
I would like to tell my story with "A Little Too Much" because I did cry... A HECKING LOT... I was just a 12 year old girl going through pretty rough stuff... I had lost someone I really loved, I was getting bullied at school and my relationship with my mom was getting bad. I wasn't really into music at that age, I knew no artist or hit songs, but I did hear Shawn on the radio singing Stitches and out of curiosity I searched him on RUclips AND OH GOD, I DO NOT REGRET ANYTHING. At that time ofc his only album out was Handwritten, and I started listening all of it, didn't really payed attention, but then "A Little Too Much" started playing... I had a lyric video playing and as he started singing... I started BAWLING (no joke) I really had no one to talk to, but I felt so understood with that song because EVERY LINE, EVERY SINGLE ONE was relatable, I did believe him the fog was gonna clear up, and I found some peace, truly.
Now I'm 18... the song still makes me extremely emotional, but the full circle moment came when I went to his tour last year, I was much better, I went with my mom, our relationship got better, and I was there seeing my idol since I was 12. The moment the melody of the song started playing I bawled as much as I did that day, it just reminded me of that 12 year old helpless girl, but I was happy because the fog really did clear up and everything got better🥺 I love that song❤
You made my day with this comment. I‘m so glad you’re better and I wish you the best. You’re so important and thank you for telling a bit of your Story. Sending u lots of hugs!

I cried when I saw A Little Too Much Live in Arizona. He actually told everyone to be completely silent and he sang a part of it completely without the microphone. It was amazing just how quiet the arena got.
Never be alone and Look up at the stars do refer to each other because both songs were made with the fans in mind, Never be alone was for us to know we had him and Look up at the stars to remind him that he has us. Tbh Never be alone will always have a special space in my heart. I bawled my eyes at my concert when i heard it started
You should DEFINETLY react to the deluxe version, because some of the best songs on the album are there!!! Running low is just 🤌🤌🤌, so PLEASEEEEEE react to it, and I think you will really like Act like you love me and Memories
The fact that I was like 10 when this album came out and I remember like being a fan of Shawn before he even joined magcon and seeing him now being a huge artist it just makes me emotional every time so whenever I go back and listen to this album I get a little nostalgic and a little emotional I miss these times
Also, react to his revisited album, maybe not the whole albums bc they’re the same songs, but he sings some of these live, and they’re so good AND he also had others like Act Like You Love Me, Memories, and Running low
Loved this reaction, and I hope you read this comment because you loved “A Little Too Much” so much. Shawn actually wrote that song completely by himself and he wrote it about himself. He said he was feeling overwhelmed and was already experiencing a version of anxiety (which he talks about in more detail when he was 19 with “In My Blood”) and he was a little nervous to write such a personal song about himself, so he made an imaginary girl in his head and wrote about his emotions in her perspective. It’s such a beautiful message especially because Shawn was so young.
People would think I'm kidding but honestly, this album is my healing album, with Never be alone, A little too much, and This is what it takes... I've bawled my eyes out and i listen to them when i'm down, it truly lifts my spirits
I went to see him in 2015 (he did tour this) and I’m pretty sure he started with Something Big. If not, it was for sure early in the setlist. As for hearing it live, we were all 15/16 and so very hyped up. It was especially special because, at that point in his career, the people in the venue were all huge fans. Little tidbit, he got us all to be quiet and actually sang a part of Aftertaste without a microphone. It was a really special tour, because we all knew something big was coming for him❤️ *the tour following that one was in venues double the size!
a little too much just make me feel comforted. It really made me feel better at my lowest and watch shawn grow as an amazing artist and person makes me so so so proud.
I always thought this album sounded really similar to something else I had heard but I could never figure out what until you pointed out that it sounded like Ed Sheeran and something clicked in my brain and I was just like oh that’s what I was hearing
I have a bit over 5000 songs saved on my Spotify and I can not tell you HOW happy I am that I am not the only person who shuffles everything at times. I like to discover my love for songs that way again and again. I don’t like to listen to a song 1627399 times and destroy it for my ears, and get sick of it. I‘m so glad I’m not the only one who shuffles through their whole music library. 🤯
Fun fact i cried in the shower everday in middle school listening to alittle too much especially when a family just passed also "this is what it takes" made me bawl my eyes
Please do react to his live albums! He does sing many songs of this album, and he sings them a bit differently, but better in my opinion, they’re so good! You have to listen to them!
@@rg9991 HAHA I know many people don’t like it, but personally, idkw my sister had that song in her playlist (the only song of Shawn’s in her playlist) and that was before I was in the mendes army, so I began to like air before hearing the full album, so it will always have a special place in my heart lol
You gotta see the carpool karaoke, he sounds amazing and they have a really interesting conversation about Justin Bieber's underwear🤣 i loved the confrontation they did on the subway or sth like that and you can literally call him angel cause he s dressed like one😍 oh, and James making Shawn react to his own voice cracks it s sooo good, he's literally so embarassed, makes me wanna hug him🥺 Can't wait for your reaction to "the late late shawn"(i m still sad they didn't do "the shawnologue" 😂)
You should react to the live albums too! I have been to the 3 concerts in Denmark. The first concert was in 2016 and was his first world tour. Then illuminate tour was in 2017. He was very active/busy around that time with touring and new albums/songs! :’)
i don’t think you’re gonna reply or even see this comment because i’m posting it months after you posted the video because i didn’t know you had posted it 😭 but i still wanted to comment haha. handwritten is my least listened album from shawn and my favorite is definitely “a little too much” i really like “crazy,” “imagination” “this is what it takes” and more. and to answer your question, yes i did cry when i heard a little too much. it’s a song i listen to on my heaviest days and it helps me get through so much. i absolutely love that song. i also wanted to thank you because you actually made me see a different side to some songs and made me love them haha. and about a little too much, it’s actually about shawn in a third point of view. also fun fact about i know what you did last summer, they wrote it from shawn’s point of view but it’s taken from a real story and the story is actually about camila. a guy in real life did this to her, he was talking to her and several other girls at the same time but obviously they exaggerated it for the song haha. also i don’t wanna sound rude but her name is pronounced camEEla and not camILLA. thanks for reacting to our sweet angel babies 💕
Personally, Shawn Mendes does not make one bad song. The only thing I can say is that with each album, I can see the growth but at the same time, he was really mature in his music for his age at 16. Whatever I’m listening to at the moment is my favorite 😂😂
i've just binged a few of your album reviews and considering your close attention to lyrics and instrumental drama, i'd definitely recommend listening to Josh A's "You're Not Alone"
You NEED to react to FAOUZIA. I just know you’re gonna love her for how mind blowing her talent is, both vocally and lyrically. I’d recommend Tears Of Gold (stripped) as an introduction to her. She also has a cover of John Mayers’ Slow Dancing In a Burning Room which I love so much.
Fun fact: shawn actually wrote A Little Too Much about himself and his struggles with anxiety, but he wasn't ready to talk about himself directly, so he wrote it from a third person POV
I literally watched shawn grow into the artist he is today and seeing reactions like this just makes me so emotional bc I'm so proud of him 🥺

I love them so much
I cried when I saw A Little Too Much Live in Arizona. He actually told everyone to be completely silent and he sang a part of it completely without the microphone. It was amazing just how quiet the arena got.
It is a good album for a 16 year old boy, the best songs are in the deluxe version
Wonder and SM3 just chilling in the background 😂
Edit: Spotted the Shawn figure on the friends couch too🔥
In the revisited version there are 3 more songs that are my favorites
Fun fact, Shawn wrote a little to much all by himself🥺😭 I am so proud of him, and how far he has come, also loved your reaction
The fact that a little bit too much is a self written song without any co writers ! He was just 15 when he wrote it 😭

I know what you did last summer is a whole bop!!!! A lot of Kpop girls stan this song just like us.
I think you would loveeee the bonus tracks on Handwritten Revisited, he has pretty deep ballads on there

He opened for Taylor Swift 1989 world tour for this album!
never be alone is my fav song everrrr
wahhhh back with the Shawn reaction❤️❤️❤️ You should totally check out his pitchfork interview breaking down a couple of his songs
oh 11 year old me is LIVING
hi Micheal! yeah, he did a tour for this album and I saw him live in 2016 in Italy. He definitely started with Something Big lol
The other live album is MTV Unplugged (you HAVE to listen to bad reputation from that album omg she is a beast live)
I still cry so hard when I listen A little too much, I still relate to what he says
He had a revisited version of this album where he has live versions and some new tracks that are so sooo good. I think you’d really like it.
Fun fact i cried in the shower everday in middle school listening to alittle too much especially when a family just passed also "this is what it takes" made me bawl my eyes
at the time of this album he was an opener on taylor's 1989 world tour!!!
Love this reaction so much
He started the album when he was 15 and finished it at 16 and yes it was amazing i was listening to him since i was in elementary school💗💗
