It is a very good book for beginners as well as for those that are already into ruclips.net/user/postUgkxTNB_zFBSnTo_O1PqfVUwgi7ityw0JlKt A very good basic ebook to keep as a reference too. I like it and the way the subject matter is presented. It has humor and that helps with the reading.
I am a homeowner with a day job who does not do anything construction related for a living. That being said I am working on framing out my basement and Bought this ruclips.net/user/postUgkxHQsUrwNr5GQrnx9V4xDdUr56qxwuiBHt gun. I have done a few walls already, have probably shot a couple hundred nails through this thing and have yet to have a misfire. It works awesome, good depth on every nail if you have your compressor set right. My literal only complaint is that it is a bit heavy and my arm can get a little tired especially whrn I am nailing at odd angles. That being said I am super happy with it and would buy it again. Hoping the old girl allows me to get my whole basement finished out!
Nice, I wish that they had that when I was put glue for all floor sheeting I had to do as a apprentice carpenter on houses 65 years ago, thanks for showing all the new thing s of a old carpenter of 50 years. 👍 enjoy your videos, I tell my grandson to watch you..
When I was re-caullking my windows I bought a cheap Royobi caulk gun and when I consider what I paid for it it was one of my best investments! I'm sure the Milwaukee gun is vastly better but the idea of a smooth consistent pressure from any powered gun makes life infinitely easier.
Those are sweet guns. We have several at work, being a high volume glass shop that installs lots of windows and showers, we have one on each truck set up for sausages.
No doubt that Quad sealant is some rough caulking to squeeze out. That made it look simple. The only thing I would think about that is you would definitely not want some cold or hard caulking or it would blow out the back. Another great video Kyle.
I do replacement window installs and after 20 windows of using quad your forearm is on fire but once i got this gun omg my forearms ha e thanked me so much
@RR Buildings. Thanks for the video Kyle. Like you said, while not a tool you can always justify, when you need it, it is really handy. Carpal tunnel is no fun. I notice that few tool makers who make these cordless caulk guns don't put a seal puncture tool or a tip cutter. While I prefer to cut my caulk tips with a utility knife, now I have to have to carry another tool just to puncture the seal. Hope you and your family stay safe and well.
You forgot one other reason to buy this tool - I bought the M12 version - is that when you get old, but not too old to hang up your tool belt, and get arthritis in your hands, this makes caulking much less painful or even on some days, possible when otherwise I couldn't. Thanks for all the reviews that you do.
Thx for the demo. We recently got a contract for building maintenance, hanging hardy board and rough sawn cedar buttons, and everything geys calked, seems this is my solution.
Hello Kyle, Got one of those a couple of years ago and they are handy. Watch out for cold weather though below forty degrees the tube can be 'blown out' making a huge mess. The gun has power enough to blow them when they get stiff. The other thing was that with PL adhesive and other construction adhesive the gun bleeds after you shut it off and backed off the plunger. Always a large puddle of adhesive where they gun was set down. Still great for applying adhesive. Take care. Doug
I watched your vid on the cordless caulking gun. I really needed to see how you exchange tube's and you were the only one who actually did it on camera but you went through it so fast I still don't know how to take the empty tube out to replace it with a new one. Back to the hardware store tomarrow. A vid on how to take the empty tube out, put the new one in, and what to do to when you want to replace the battery.
The best review around, about these guns. Good to see a comprehensive show off the actual product working. But still wince, when I see u guys using the gun at such a weird angle, as well as the cut on your nozzle! Been using silicone since 1990,with a Cox cage gun 🔫 and everything since. After your explanation, I feel happier considering buying something like this to help old tired hands! Ta, thats thank you in English.
We've had the Makita Caulk gun for a couple years now and it works great standing on a ladder or platform and just pulling a trigger and getting a nearly finished quality bead from the get go cant be beaten especially when clients will be looking at it in a bathroom once a day. Being able to extend my reach a little more without moving a ladder is awesome. Makita's gun also allows you to just retract the piston bar and pull a tube out without unscrewing the tube housing, might be worth looking into next time you are fishing for a new/second gun. The few downsides is the weight after a big day (more or less depending on battery size) and their speed adjusting solution is an embedded ring which is above the bar and is a little fiddly at times and Milwaukee's knob seems to be smarter but both need you to take your spare hand off the gun to adjust it anyway so a bit of personal preference would apply. My local hardware doesn't stock a huge range of Milwaukee gear but I believe when I looked at it the Makita was about $40 - $60 cheaper.
Nice Caulk gun from Milwaukee, myself i use the HK40 from the brand swallow. The HK40 is a semi-open, very stable hand gun with reinforced mechanical/hydraulic transmission for 310 ml cartridges. Equipped with automatic release in the handle. Adjustable handle. The most popular caulk gun among professional gaulkers
That Milwaukee will drive you nuts when using in the lower half of the speed range. It auto retracts then takes forever to take up the slack on the next activation of the trigger. I went with a Ryobi for $50 less than the red gun alone and got a caulk gun, skil saw and two 4ah batteries with charger.
I have the M12 version and the only thing I wish was that it didn't withdraw so far, to release pressure, because on the slower settings it can take a sec to get back to dispensing the caulking and throw you off. It's super nice for those thick sealants and adhesives. Like you said, you have to have a use for it.
I 100% love the product and I’m a Maintenance worker at a motel and I use caulk gun all the time caulking around toilet showers in kitchens I would love to have one but I just cannot afford one one day though lol
Kyle, we’re on our third Milwaukee gun now. Use them primarily for laying urethane on windshields. They’re great for a consistent bead but can be spazy when you have to slow down for a corner. That said when we wear out the one we’re using we’ll buy another Milwaukee.
i wish i would have bought the m18 version because i have 30 or so batteries but other than that i love the gun and u can also add the sausage tube to it and its really handy..... watching your vids as they come out helped alot recently also ....we are down in central Illinois about 25 miles south of Springfield and our pole barn got destroyed in the December tornado and we had a 40 x 80 barn put up last month to take place of it and i caught a few things the crew were doing that weren't right and had to correct them ...very much appreciated ....your friend from lower Illinois
my company uses this, we use mass amounts of silicone and it works like a charm and would take forever trying to move it with with a regular one because of how hard it is to move it and how much we use.
We just got the 18v sausage version. Just getting started with it but looks to be a big convience to us. The small 1.5 amp/hr battery seems to have a long run time and keeps the weight bearable. Now to figure out to minimize the mess changing the sausage. The insulator that bragged about it to us warned of blowing out the back end of the tube. The problem becomes pulling the plunger back and loading the caulk into the gearbox.
I have pretty strong grip but I’ve already looked into buying one of these (prob a makita). It will be totally worth it when I get the money for one. I can see the value in keeping your production up all day when you’re pumping out a lot of sealant or adhesive
Wooooow...you really hit the nail on the head regarding the time that 9 wanna buy this. The addict in me is looking for a new tool.....its inevitably next....lol
The 12 volt version is just as capable with just as much torque and significantly lighter weight. I was in the glass business for over 25 years and ran on average 15 tubes of hi-viscosity urethane a day and found I only had to change batteries once a week(maybe). Very good product
Dane Austin I promise, you won’t be disappointed. The battery life is insane. And the M12 batteries charge way faster. A tip though..., if your running anything thinner than Vulkem or something super hi-viscosity, turn the speed control down to about half or less until you get used to it. Believe it or not it will blow out the side of a tube. Ask me how I know, LOL!!
RR Buildings I’ve used every brand of powered caulking gun there is from Ryobi to Dewalt to every version of Milwaukee there is. The new Milwaukee M12 and M18 are the best out there, in my opinion. The sausage packs take some getting used to, but their good as well. Love the channel, by the way. Keep the great content coming.
Honestly, the Milwaukee and all electric caulk guns are ok. I do it for a living and holding that heavy thing all day long, you feel it, especially if over head. They’re great for bulk caulking that isn’t gonna be seen. But for finish caulking, nothing beats an Albion manual
I have the M12 version (definitely don’t need 18v) Works amazing!!!! Just have to make sure you cut a big enough hole onto the plastic tubes (quad max, duralink35) if you just use the little hole that comes already cut it backfires and makes a mess of the plunger. Otherwise it’s awesome.
Don't forget about the M12 version as well. Smaller, lighter, with the same capability as the M18 but able to reach tighter spots. Throw a 6ah battery on it & go to town. As a handyman, it's what im gonna pick up to rechalk tubs, showers, & sinks. Great reviews as i love tool Tuesday.
Old farts like me retired and all the time in the world for those forgotten projects. Problem? That painful arthritis. This tool makes my life so much easier. Windows, floors, kitchen, bath, doors, trim and i even use it to apply seam sealer on my classic cars.
I just watched another channel where they caulked and sealed a custom house for super-efficient air-infiltration reduction. They said they used 1,000-tubes of sealant caulk! And that's not counting the tubes of framing adhesive...
Definitely not a detail gun but would be good for floors and what not . If you cut the tip straight instead of angle you can move gun and tube wherever you want for better beads ,smooth no tooling once you figure it out ..solar seal is way better the osi in my opion. Keep the vidjas and warm weather coming bud
Looks like a nice tool. I quite like the knack you have to have with the old hand held modge guns though....its definitely at art form to become decent at caulking!
something to note is that these are notorious for blowing out your tube when using them on higher speeds. just make sure you have a big hole in your nozzle.
I have used both. The M12 with a 4.0 or 6.0 battery is the better choice. It is lighter and ergonomically it is a better choice. The way the M18 battery attaches is comber some and it binds with your wrist. I have used many different brands and styles of battery power caulking guns (automotive windshield replacement) and the M12 is superior in both price and application.
I have the M12 version of this tool. In my trade, I use up to 100 tubes a day of very viscous caulk materials. The tool creates a more efficient and less strenuous process than heating the material or straining to manually pump it. It allows for a precision application of viscous materials by eliminating the struggle to lay it. For me, it’s a must have that pays for itself in a matter of hours.
I find your comment about heating the caulk before laying it... I must admit that while I was on break from doing some caulking a woman passing by was telling me that her son always heated his caulking before applying it. Is this common or not. I have built a box where I can put my caulking to keep warm or warm up in colder weather or even thicker caulk like the Quad. But this doesn't seem like a common thing. I would like more opinions on this subject...
I’m a 20 year certified flooring installer I do a lot of property management ,I do the whole house and when you have 500 to 600 linear feet of quarter round to caulk this would pay off big time I think although I can do a really good job with the hand powered in less than 20 minutes on 500 linear feet,if this could cut off five minutes it would be worth it
damn! I heard of this but didn't realize til now that the power source was a regular cordless drill type thing. That would be way too much gun for me being a painter and doing many small spots at once. Especially continually setting it down to run my finger across the bead. Crap! it looks awesome. Especially the MILES of caulking I do lol
I often go through many cases of the big PL adhesive in a day. It really kills the wrist and flares up an old injury. I've been really considering getting one of these. I would love to see how quickly it can put down quart tubes. For finish silicone my favorite is a sherwin williams dripless, it doesn't fatigue me. But this tool may help make it more consistent. I'll have to bite the bullet and buy one. Great Video!
Heck yeah Kyle I'm looking at the dewalt version because of subfloor sausage tubes being a full time framing on floor trusses my boss says no such thing as too much glue or nails lol
I just buy tools to keep in my garage and take a look at them once in a while, puts a smile on my face
lmao
LOL... believe me or not, I do the same thing!! my Son call me crazy man!!
me too hahaha
I do the same. I just admire good engineering
Lol 😂 me too

Keep in mind, the selection of the caulk speed dial is completely dependent on how soon the lunch truck is arriving to the job-site.
Finally a video actually showing the different speed settings
You’re solid with the consistency of Toolsday! Not easy when you’re working your day job as well. We appreciate you brother.
thanks man... couldn't go it consistently without my brothers help shooting and editing. He takes care of all that for me
Nice, I wish that they had that when I was put glue for all floor sheeting I had to do as a apprentice carpenter on houses 65 years ago, thanks for showing all the new thing s of a old carpenter of 50 years. 👍 enjoy your videos, I tell my grandson to watch you..
Question sir, after all those years of working as a carpenter what is the number one thing you do regret? Honestly
I’ve had mine for 4 years, I use it for auto glass and it still kicks ass.
When I was re-caullking my windows I bought a cheap Royobi caulk gun and when I consider what I paid for it it was one of my best investments! I'm sure the Milwaukee gun is vastly better but the idea of a smooth consistent pressure from any powered gun makes life infinitely easier.
I've used these for auto windshields, sub-floors, and filling saw curfs in asphalt or concrete.
Using a manual caulking gun for more than an hour or so can really be a pain. This is well worth the cost.
Those are sweet guns. We have several at work, being a high volume glass shop that installs lots of windows and showers, we have one on each truck set up for sausages.
You guys should look into powerpush tools. Far superior tools
“Your happy you had it when the time comes” yesss sir!
These are great for new smartlap siding jobs, especially when it starts to get cold out and the caulk gets stiff fast!
I’m on a job doing crazy amounts of acoustical caulking and the powered gun is a damn life saver
I bet
No doubt that Quad sealant is some rough caulking to squeeze out. That made it look simple. The only thing I would think about that is you would definitely not want some cold or hard caulking or it would blow out the back. Another great video Kyle.
I do replacement window installs and after 20 windows of using quad your forearm is on fire but once i got this gun omg my forearms ha e thanked me so much
Oh man I bet
Get it real warm
Thanks Kyle, Milwaukee makes great tools. That caulk gun is sweet. 👍
It’s my fav for apartment building or hotel subfloors! 😁
Love the Honesty in the reviews and the Jazz music during the demonstration. Lol

Thanks for the cold weather tip!
I love how it looks just like the hackzall
This would be perfect for installing septic tanks, I’m always caulking everything with the thickest beed possible.
this is milwaukee caulking gun is amazing. i do auto glass and it’s a life saver!! especially when it’s cold.
What type of urethane were you using with it?
I'm a DIY guy... Sacrilege here to y'all but I use Ryobi. Got one of these just to caulk my house. Worth the 30 bucks I paid. Even if just for that.
I watched your vid on the cordless caulking gun. I really needed to see how you exchange tube's and you were the only one who actually did it on camera but you went through it so fast I still don't know how to take the empty tube out to replace it with a new one. Thanks, been wanting to see this tool in action, might be time to retire my old Astro Tools pneumatic caulk gun. I lay down A LOT of rtv at work.
This guy definitely knows his caulk !
Yes smarter not harder! I also use the KISS method as well. I just tell myself Keep It Simple Stupid seems to make things go smoother.
We've had the Makita Caulk gun for a couple years now and it works great standing on a ladder or platform and just pulling a trigger and getting a nearly finished quality bead from the get go cant be beaten especially when clients will be looking at it in a bathroom once a day. Almost 200,000 subs! Keep up the good work bro!
Nice, i like the demostration of this. I knew this excisted but i never saw it working. Thanks for that
Nice Caulk gun from Milwaukee, myself i use the HK40 from the brand swallow.

Love that Buy once Cry once quote .

The caulk master. Used the hell out of those working on rigid hull inflatables, granted ours was pneumatic
I have the M12 version and the only thing I wish was that it didn't withdraw so far, to release pressure, because on the slower settings it can take a sec to get back to dispensing the caulking and throw you off.

I dont know why more people don't use them. I love my ryobi one.

Body shops have used them for decades in the M12 family, fits into tighter spots for seam sealers
Tajima makes a really nice caulk gun, comfortable to use and hasn't skipped a beat caulking tubs or toilets in
I’ve always frowned on this tool just because it’s clearly much much bigger then it needs to be.
I just picked this up because I have about 125 furring strips to attach. This is going to save so much time!
I have pretty strong grip but I’ve already looked into buying one of these (prob a makita). It will be totally worth it when I get the money for one. I can see the value in keeping your production up all day when you’re pumping out a lot of sealant or adhesive
Another great demonstration. Thanks Kyle.
The strings on your hoodie look like ponytails.
This would be so useful for solar installs when you're going through about half a box (12 tubes) of silicone on a roof.
Why do I keep thinking this is decorative frosting on a cake?....mmmmmm cake.
I vote new milfukee product industrial cake frosting gun
You can take an empty caulk tube and fill it with icing
I really like the way you say caulk....
Wooooow...you really hit the nail on the head regarding the time that 9 wanna buy this. The addict in me is looking for a new tool.....its inevitably next....lol
I make a mess with the hand squeeze gun. I could really screw something up.
Very cool tool, and great demo.
The 12 volt version is just as capable with just as much torque and significantly lighter weight. I was in the glass business for over 25 years and ran on average 15 tubes of hi-viscosity urethane a day and found I only had to change batteries once a week(maybe). Very good product
dang thats awesome
I install windows, doors, ect. I think I will try the 12v, being it is lighter and not as big, thanks....
Dane Austin I promise, you won’t be disappointed. The battery life is insane. And the M12 batteries charge way faster. A tip though..., if your running anything thinner than Vulkem or something super hi-viscosity, turn the speed control down to about half or less until you get used to it.
Thanks for the tip, RR kepp the vids coming;)
Always enjoy toolsday!!
I’ve never seen that before until your videos! Awesome
I love my Milwaukee cordless caulk gun.
Honestly, the Milwaukee and all electric caulk guns are ok. I do it for a living and holding that heavy thing all day long, you feel it, especially if over head. They’re great for bulk caulking that isn’t gonna be seen. But for finish caulking, nothing beats an Albion manual
Okay I’ll have to check that brand out never seen?
I just swap the barrels. 220k liner ft. Using 12 or 13 m12's all bulk sika 2cns.
This a great tool that several stitch and glue boatbuilders swear by.
Don't forget about the M12 version as well. Smaller, lighter, with the same capability as the M18 but able to reach tighter spots. Throw a 6ah battery on it & go to town. As a handyman, it's what im gonna pick up to rechalk tubs, showers, & sinks. Great reviews as i love tool Tuesday.
interesting I think i am going to check it out
Perfect tool for ❄️
I’m gonna get it, even if I caulk twice a yr…saves time
Old farts like me retired and all the time in the world for those forgotten projects. Problem? That painful arthritis. This tool makes my life so much easier. Windows, floors, kitchen, bath, doors, trim and i even use it to apply seam sealer on my classic cars.
That tool would be good in the aquarium hobby for resealing tanks(or company that does it).
I just watched another channel where they caulked and sealed a custom house for super-efficient air-infiltration reduction. They said they used 1,000-tubes of sealant caulk! And that's not counting the tubes of framing adhesive...
Damn, that thing is cool!! Wish I'd had one when I was in construction.
Would like to see that big beast of Rv in your shop one day. Just saying would make a good video.
yeah and then people would assume I was being sponsored and paid to show it off...lol i don't get some people
I have used both.
That would be awesome for subfloor it would make it go a lot faster and time is money
Just ordered one!
I honestly taught I was the only one that had a list of tools I wanna buy 😂😂😂😂
Karlo Turalija Excel spread sheet and shit
I have the M12 version of this tool. In my trade, I use up to 100 tubes a day of very viscous caulk materials.

I would like more opinions on this subject...
Buy once and Cry once. . . . LOVE THAT
Nice demonstration, your right, great tool to keep in the arsenal. Keep up good vids.
A great presentation for the humble caulk gun old and new , but i was distracted by your hoodie ties they made you look like you had pigtails lol.
I’m a 20 year certified flooring installer I do a lot of property management ,I do the whole house and when you have 500 to 600 linear feet of quarter round to caulk this would pay off big time I think although I can do a really good job with the hand powered in less than 20 minutes on 500 linear feet,if this could cut off five minutes it would be worth it
I have the same one that I use for windshield replacements.
Каил ! Привет из Екатеринбурга , интересно смотреть как ты делаеш вещи
Thanks Kyle another great toolsday
damn! I heard of this but didn't realize til now that the power source was a regular cordless drill type thing. That would be way too much gun for me being a painter and doing many small spots at once. Especially continually setting it down to run my finger across the bead. Crap! it looks awesome. Especially the MILES of caulking I do lol
$200 is worth not having carpal tunnel!
Been a carpenter for 25 years. Never once have a used cocking. I need to see if I can get some different CAUlKING to get see if I can get some cocking
Which do you prefer black caulk or white caulk?
Wow,
Nice tool!
Milwaukee will put a bottle opener on a radio but won't put a cutter and pinner on their caulk gun, smh 😪.
That is just so cool
On a different note, I just ordered my martinez hammer today. I will be waiting for you to hire another guy.
Aaron Dantini 😂
PCC people falling in love with this
Heck yeah Kyle I'm looking at the dewalt version because of subfloor sausage tubes being a full time framing on floor trusses my boss says no such thing as too much glue or nails lol
I have the ryobi one which has been working great for years. Unfortunately ryobi only makes one for the 10oz tubes.
