The fact that Sitka's isn't considered one of the most tragic and noble Disney deaths is beyond me. I watched this film a lot as a kid and I was always so blown away that he didn't even hesitate, he just chose his brothers before himself and it's always stuck with me in a way that rarely any fictional death has, maybe because I'm the oldest sibling too, who knows. Parents sacrificing themselves for their children is always noble, but there's something else when it comes to siblings sacrificing their lives for each other.

@@Jas-ii3fp I've heard people say this, I really like the version they put in the movie, I feel like it's because we already know what happened. For me I didn't need to hear the story again, the music and the key points in the story that Kenai tells Koda really hit me more than the scrapped version. It showcased more of the emotions of the characters than the words of the story. Music really brings out more emotion in me though so I guess that's why I like the final version so much.😊

I think what the sequel lacked was the surprise of Kenai turning into a bear. When Brother Bear came out, most of us probably thought of a movie where Kenai will be separated from his tribe and he will live amongst the bears as a human. What we didn't think about was him turning into an actual bear and was taking care of the cub of the bear that he has killed out of revenge.

This is truly my favorite Disney movie and I think the message is one everyone could take note from.. especially now more than ever. Not only should you respect other species, but other humans too. We are all intertwined together on this planet, and our actions can impact another. To fully understand, we have to take in the perspective of another.. and try to see thru others eyes before passing a judgement or making an action that may harm them.

Hi Cody! Love your reactions! Brother Bear is one of the most underrated Disney movies, and I am so happy that you reacted to it! I have a fun fact for you since you loved the soundtrack for the movie. The song that plays when Kenai transforms into the bear is sung with Inuit lyrics. The translation to it basically means that Kenai will understand why they are doing it. "Everything will become clear to you
...When you see things through another's eyes...Everything will become clear to you....Whatever's meant for you, you will find".

my favourite Disney movie for sure, and, probably,my favourite soundtrack from one of them, and not surprisingly,my favourite scene is since the icy waterfall to when the aurora goes back into the sky, that Bulgarian song is SO GOOD,and then, another part that I love is when Koda recognizes Kenai in human form and they start hugging, gives me goosebumps and tears all the time because you can tell that they are apologizing and forgiving each other for everything, especially Kenai,a powerful moment even if neither say a word

My sister and I have this tradition where one of us just randomly starts singing On My Way, and the other joins in and then we just sing. This movie was a large part of my childhood, and seeing other people appreciate it as much as I do brings me so much joy

Now that I'm not only in my 20s but also the oldest sister of three I now understand everything Sitka did for his brothers in watching over them and making sure they went the correct path, especially Kenai in his path for vengeance to a mother bear who we see was just protecting her cub Koda.

5:17 Remember Kenai is voiced by Joaquin Phoenix who, when he was 19, saw his older brother River Phoenix collapse and start having seizures outside the club known as 'The Viper Room' as a result of a drug overdose. No one else inside or outside the club called an ambulance for a full five minutes after River collapsed so Joaquin had to make the call. Their sister Rain was with them as well. Rumour has it that half of this scene was cut because Joaquin got so upset while recording it the director thought it might upset the children watching the movie.

Music by Melissa Etheridge was good, but I felt by it not having Tanana, Denahi, Sitka, or even Koda’s mom it really lacked something.
It also was very slow at times.

When they were making this, Disney bumped up their deadline by six months. So it could have been a bit more polished with more time. It was at the end of Disney's hand-drawn era, and in my opinion, they were actively trying sabotage their last few hand-drawn features, to give the studio the excuse they wanted to ditch traditional animation and go to full CGI. It was a sad time. The current CGI movies are awesome, but an art form has been pretty much abandoned, and we will never see the level of skill and artistry of the traditional hand-drawn movies again.

I wait to see what you think of the orginal Spirit the horse movie. Anyway this movie teaches about the importance of responsibility, what it means to be an adult, what it means to be family whether through blood or other means, that vengeance is never good, and sometimes it is good to see this through another's eyes. Because there are two sides to every story. Might I suggest watching Brother Bear 2? It is an excellent sequel. Phil Collins wrote all the songs in the score for the movie. One more thing, this movie teaches is that things are not always what they seem. And the change in aspect ratio was to show Kenai starting to get a clearer understanding of life be it his or that of animals.
