⛽🚫 BURIED FUEL OIL TANKS ⛽🚫 ⚠ can cause contamination to soil & water • 🚫 BURIED #FUEL #OIL TA...
Most home owners don’t know this but furnace manufacturers mass produce natural gas furnaces because natural gas is more preferred. It’s cleaner & cheaper to use. With the oil crisis of the 1970’s and the increasing concerns about the environment, fuel oil as a home heating source fell rapidly from popularity due to cost & cleanliness.
LP #propane #gas & #naturalgas burn differently. This requires mechanics & #appliances to have the appropriate size burners. These burners for each appliance or mechanic are in two different sizes in which the fuel source comes out. This is important in order for the burners to burn properly.
It is very important for all the DIY’ers to make sure that when purchasing a water heater that is designed, built & labeled for one or the other, LP- propane or natural gas. Also, make sure you know what fuel source your house has.
In most cases, people don’t realize that the farther out of the city that a home is built, the more likely that natural gas pipe grid is not available which leaves the homes alternative fuel options to LP-propane, #fuel oil, #electrical radiant heat and #geothermal heat pumps.
Note: The information above applies to #household mechanics & appliances including… stove, dryer, etc…

Great video .Thanks .I'm seriously thinking of taking out natural gas meter out and getting our boiler to run from gas tanks LP .The power companies are taking the piss now.

Hi. My natural gas water heater is leaking so i bought a new water heater only it's fixed for propane. I have an orific to change it out so gas can run from my pipe. Is it that simple?

That information is half correct. Along with the orifices you need to convert the gas valve to LP by changing the regulator spring (or springs if two stage), then set the gas pressure.

Yep. I just happened to have those orifices on hand at that place and rushed to make the video.
It's one of the 1st videos I made.
      Thanks for watching.

Hi are you talking about changing springs within the gas valve that's mounted on the appliance? And setting gas pressure on that valve? Or are you talking about making changes to the regulator that controls the pressure on the whole house?

@@wildmanofborneo the gas valve on the appliance has springs in it. Set your gas pressure from there

I'm looking for some clarity on how to convert Vulcan natural gas to lpg. There is a ring burner. Will there be just one orifice to the ring? Or the whole ring needs changing out? Does regulator need changing or adjusting?

It doesn't sound like you're converting a furnace burner. The only round burners on furnaces installed are "Miller or Nordyne" in manufacture homes. That I know of.
As for appliances and water heaters, I'm not familiar of the applications. In most cases of questions, I have had good luck getting answers from the manufacture of the products. "Engineering department".

Can you convert back to Natural gas?? I had natural gas, changed to propane, I now wanna go back to natural, the HVAC guy told me I can't. I need a new heater

    • @inspectflix
      @inspectflix  2 года назад

Yes, you can go back! For sure. Whenever Iam inspecting converted gas furnaces, I find the HVAC contractors leave the old orifices to covert back to natural gas. In the video I'm holding the originals. Look around. They're typically in a small plastic bag or paper envelope. Thanks for watching.

I'm pretty sure the gas valve has to be changed too, not just the orifice.
