You're getting great results on aluminium for having no lubricant or cooling. I was too at first, but for some reason these days the tool is constantly getting clogged up if not doused with IPA all the way through. I might have to reduce my cut depth or speed.... or something.
Considering it's an inexpensive hobby router, it makes pretty good parts. You have to program them with a not super rigid machine in mind, but utilizing spring passes and the likes you can get impressive parts.
Yes, I used double sided tape quite a bit but when cutting metal it wasn't always enough, so I also screwed it into the wasteboard. For thin parts and wood it works great though, but you want to make sure that you don't cut into it, otherwise the cutter will gum up with it and not cut properly anymore.

The finish on aluminum is impressive
good video david, im having a hard time with brass at the moment, so good to see it can be done, cant wait for the speeds and feeds
With brass it matters a lot to have the right kind, there are various alloys and some of them machine great while others are like bubble gum.
Well done and great job with this machine.
What about accuracy performances?
Anyway thank you to share your experience... :-)

In the beginning, did you use adhesive to stick the board? Only curious
