- This really is the one that everybody whose a metal guitarist wants, especially in pointy guitars category! Fortunately, I was in the right place at the right time when I came across it. Even after owning it now for over a week, I still am in a state of disbelief that it's now part of the collection. Not just what model it is, but that insane condition!!! It's going to get played a lot too, and not just sit in its case. Absolutely not, it deserves to breathe fire!!! Whoever owned this guitar, you deserve a standing ovation for how well you took care of this instrument. It really is a sight to be seen! A big thank you to the fine gentleman who sold me this guitar, as well as a big thank you to each and every one of you guys for coming to the channel to show your support and gratitude. You guys are the greatest!!!

Right? I was just thinking I was going to take a day off from playing, but his gusto got me fired up to throw on my old RG I hardly play anymore since I started playing Jacksons. I'd rather spend money on a well made older guitar any day. Seems the only really good ones coming out anymore are coming out of custom shops. I'm actually working on picking up parts here and there to build myself a nice custom Les Paul. I lose motivation for a lot of different reasons, but videos like this get me fired up all over again. Whether it's $8000 or $80, there's nothing quite like the feeling of finally getting something you've been wanting but couldn't easily find. If you want it bad enough, there's always a way.

86 is when NJ production was moved to South Korea. You can tell by the 3 adjustment screws on the pickup rings and the unpainted neck with the multipiece headstock. Also the spacing of the 12 fret dot markers is larger on Nagoya NJ's. 86 was also the last year that NJ Series came from the factory with a Kahler. Killer axe. That catalog ad looks to be from 85. Those knobs are also not original to 86 NJ Series.

Not gonna lie man, your channel has almost single-handedly gotten me into death metal. I've always been a big melodeath fan, and I've always had more of a classical/symphonic taste (I was a band kid back in middle and high school), so rediscovering Nile has led me back down the path haha

Relapse had a crazy sale a couple of months ago and I decided to buy a couple of NILE cd's at 5$ a piece. Helluva deal.
I find it interesting that unlike most bands I listen to, the actual volume of the Nile cd matters to my particular enjoyment in listening to it. There is so much nuance and detail I have to have it up at a considerable level to be able to experience it. This isnt background noise.

@@saltpeter7429 CD's are they not around 320kbps quality ? Maybe you should give LP or those kind of bigger discs a chance or buy lossless or any of the other bigger quality files that exists. I have not gotten into Nile yet but I am listening to a lot of melodic death and Lossless is a lot better quality than CD quality. You are right, better quality and also GOOD headphones makes a lot of difference for a somewhat trained ear to pick up nuances and other stuff much better. Some stuff, at least in metal music, you can miss out on if you do not have the quality files and headphones. Last time it happened to me was when I bought a vinyl disc from a band called "Mors Principium Est". I had listened to them for many years on Spotify but when I dropped the needle on this vinyl on my Technics LP turntable system with good headphones around 400$, It was truly something else.
I could hear stuff that was not there before or stuff that was almost not there before because of quality. So i urge you to try out Vinyl or lossless files on music that you really enjoy if you have not tried it already

I'm gonna be completely honest, as soon as I discovered Morbid Angel and say Trey play his Ironbird. It became my favorite shape of guitar, like man it is just so badass looking and so fitting for Death Metal. Was absolutely stoked when I saw that was the unboxing...man BC Rich really knows what they're doing with shapes.

I used to work at fedex in the warehouse part. With this time of year ordering a guitar, it should be safe. Don’t order guitars around Christmas time. They are getting slammed with packages at that time and I’ve seen many packages get tossed around that say fragile on them.

Your reaction reminds me of the first time I purchased a B.C. Rich. I was 16 and found one listed for sale in the news paper add. This guy custom ordered an American Warlock. Kahler trem and a custom paint job. With neck through design, most tiger stripe guitars are orange and black. Done in the 80’s, this sports a yellow and black paint job. Simply stunning. I haven’t found another like it. Well I’m 50 now. My wife won’t let me get rid of it. Keep up the good work!

Just got in a MIJ DKMG that ie been after for a while just never pulled the trigger on it. And of course GC didnt pack it well enough and the headstock was missing a chunk. A little wood glue and some making tape for clamping pressure and she looks good as new. Excited for you the Ironbird has been growing on me the last few years as well.

I have that same exact guitar in my closet right now. Same year and everything. In it's original hardshell case. It was my first guitar. Got it when I was in high school, along with a Peavey Special 130 amp. Don't have the amp anymore, sold it to a friend many years ago.
I remember when Paul Stanley was playing those badass thangs but what I really want is that shirt you're wearing except I would have to swap the 83 for 67. Yes, I'm old school but that means I got to see ozzy with Randy Rhoads twice and I met him once. I got to see Metallica with Cliff Burton three times and met him once and I also got to see Kiss in 1979 with a band called Judas Priest opening for them.

I grew up in New Jersey, and took guitar lessons at a great guitar store 'Cranford Guitar' with Joe in the early/mid 80s. He was a B.C Rich dealer, we all though NJ meant it was made in our state, New Jersey, it actually means Nagoya Japan. My good buddy had a white NJ Series Warlock, it was SaWeet. Nice Axe you got there.

Nice! Definite unicorn find... I think it's cool to see such a bc rich enthusiast, they either get hate or overlooked. I was born in 73 so growing up in the 80s metal explosion the warlock always made me starry eyed. In 2010ish? I decided I'd get off my ass and learn to actually play but I was going to get my dream guitar I was doing research and stumbled onto a certain one and fell in love so I pulled the trigger on a new Korean BC Rich Warlock Pro X, when I got it I was blown away how nice it felt and played and it looks down right sexy and the with the neck thru the sustain is insane it rings out a note out forever! I think I can hear it in the case still! Lol. . I was struggling with The POS I had been using thought it was just me but this Warlocks neck was so nice I instantly stopped struggling so comfortable and easy to play. It's matte black with cream binding, gold hardware, hardtail, all mahogany construction, neck thru reverse headstock, and same emg 81/60 combo James hetfield used for years, ebony fretboard. I've never really been into the lead guitar thing I love deep crunchy rhythm riffs so I went with a hardtail I figured why add complexity of a Floyd rose if I wouldnt use it. I found it at a place in New York back street guitars or something they had 2 one listed for normal $700 but the other was $600..... So I called and asked what's up is it B stock? he said hold a sec I'll look so he went online and he said huh guess just typo but I'll give it to you at the $600 listed price I said sweet and took that $100 savings and bought a $100 BC Rich hard case like that one, now having that case its a must. I wish I could leave it on the wall 24/7 I love to just look at it...but too risky and it would get dusty and maybe damaged which would break my heart. Have you ever seen or used a Warlock proX shadow by chance? But I love your collection of BC Rich gear and your enthusiasm for the brand. Love seeing Kerry king or cc DeVille shredding on one. Right after I bought it I noticed Niclas Engelin the rhythm guitarist from inflames playing the same exact pro x warlock at the sonisphere festival, he just put gold pickup covers on his so it must have been a pretty decent axe... Nothing screams old school 80s metal more than big hair, black studded leather jackets with a BC Rich especially the Warlock! 🤘😝🤘 Sorry for rambling...
Dimarzio Deactivator Xs are Super Hot pickups. So glad I put them in my custom headless. Tuned to A# and it sings all the notes with clarity & chunk.

Terrific guitar. Congratulations. The early NJ’s where manufactured in Nagoya Japan(NJ Series). They were completely made there. The US Series was made in Japan but assembled here in the US.
The NJ you have is an amazing example. The previous owner added the vintage high hat knobs(great choice) and pick ups. Your trem is a Kahler Flyer. It is terrific. Congratulations on a fantastic example!!!
