Finally! Been waiting since john bohlinger ig post! Hehe, sorry for keep pestering PG for this upload but PG very kind respond 🙏👍👏🙌. Also can see theres more and more ❤ for Kingfish 😁
Kingfish is a prince of a guy! He is humble, has a great outlook on life, can laugh at himself, and genuinely has fun playing music, thus giving his playing this almost spiritual essence!
Tuner, wah, drive and delay into a Fender amp. That’s all you need for a killer blues pedal board to get great tones. Don’t over complicate it, people!
Absolutely. 🖤🖤🖤 My 4 favourites for a pedalboard are: Wah Fuzz ( any octave-Foxx type ) Drive ( Cornerstone Antique ) Delay ( Fjord Löke ) Anything you need, from boost to delay-modulation it's in there.
Great video, John Bohlinger and Kingfish don't disappoint as usual. This is the kind of Rig Rundown that we all love. The artist lets us hear everything instead of just showing them.
Thanks for another great rig rundown, John! Christone deserves to be in the spotlight - he really has it! Every time I watch him play, it stops me in my tracks and I know I’m watching one of the greats. And his signature Fender is truly one of the best guitars released by Fender in recent years. Thanks to Christone for all he does to keep the Blues alive and relevant for generations to come.
This kid is just the best; as a player and person. I was lucky enough to run into him at Crossroad in September. He was incredibly nice and humble, and I got a picture with him.
This is the first time I've heard someone drop Chico Banks name. My buddy and I dropped into a random blues bar in Chicago and Chico was playing. Sounded incredible! R.I.P.
saw him live on Later with Jools... and was blown away by both his playing style and sound. That Tele ROCKS and I may even get one! Hope to see lots more of Kingfish from now on.
Love to see players that are cool and kicked back. A serious player but also humble. Great tone. Thanks for the shout outs to other players too. Will be looking them up. 🎸
The "Contour" knob on Marshall amps and pedals adjusts the frequency response of the amplifier or pedal. It's a control that alters the shape or contour of the sound, typically by emphasizing or de-emphasizing certain frequencies. In the context of Marshall amps, the Contour control can adjust the midrange frequencies, allowing you to sculpt the tone to your liking. Turning it clockwise might boost midrange frequencies, giving a more aggressive or "scooped" sound, while turning it counterclockwise might tame the midrange, resulting in a smoother or warmer tone. In pedals, the Contour knob can have a similar function, often tailored to the specific effects produced by the pedal. For example, on a distortion or overdrive pedal, the Contour knob might adjust the shape of the distortion, allowing you to tailor the tone to suit different playing styles or musical genres. Overall, the Contour knob provides flexibility in shaping the tone to achieve the desired sound, making it a valuable tool for guitarists looking to fine-tune their tone.
One of the most talented and humble young players to come around in years!! Looking forward to all of his future work. This kid just bleeds the blues which is something you just can’t learn! 👍🎸
Players with short, pudgy fingers like mine are so damn inspiring. I def gotta start following this guy. Thanks to Rig Rundown for introducing me to him.
Thank you Christone for sharing your gear - your phrasing is righteous - awesome tone too - it’s great to see you are such a humble gentleman as well - good one John.
Have to admit, although I had heard of him, I wasn't familiar with him or his music until I saw this. I thoroughly enjoyed this rundown. Not only is he insanely talented, but he surely comes across as a humble, sweet, and respectful young man. I'm a fan! Thanks for this!
Brother Kingfish staying humble. Every video is a new experience. I'll get his autograph on my Kingfish Tele Deluxe next time I see him. I saw him in Phoenix but didn't have my axe with me. Much love, my brother!
I first heard Kingfish probably ten or fifteen years ago when he really was still just a kid. It's truly wonderful to see where he's at now. Fella deserves it. Seems like a good dude, too.
I really appreciate this young boy I think it’s an old blues soul in a young body 🤩🤩🤩🤩 kingfish you are an inspiration for so many guitarist ! God bless you 🙏
Kingfish is the man. He could easily just mindlessly shred scales with the chops he's got, but he really plays with soul. I still need to go see him live.
I love this guy.realy he stands out above everyone, he has the thing, he is like a modern day buddy guy,i m seventy now, if I saw him live I would give him a big hug
That Chertoff LP has a set of Jalen "Kingfish" humbuckers in it. I ordered a set and put them in my Heritage Custom Core H-150, and it took it from vintage sounding to a monster rock tone!
Best blues player in the world Christone "kingfish" Ingram, love that original guitar...Gibson should do a signature model with a kings crown for the headstock and all your specs...the sound is unique...congratulations chris on all your success, bad ass
I worked on a promo for the release of his signature model, and King Fish was nothing but professional and humble. I don’t usually approach “celebrities” i work with but i was able to sneak in a few words and he was so cool to me, helluva player
The Shredmaster was my first pedal ever, because when I was a kid all I had was a keyboard amp. I sold it some 20 years ago, when the Americans finally discovered Radiohead! I always thought it was a metal pedal… Now I want to buy one again, thanks King
I used the Marshall shed master on 100s of gigs in the 90s. Back then it was one of the best over drive boost pedals. Then I switched to the pedal that looked like a home plate because it had 2 channels.
Kingfish is one of a kind. Young man is doing his thing 💯 I am not a super blues guy,...leave it to the professional Mr Kingfish is the man. Great video. He keeps it simple tuner, overdrive and wah and a nice clean Amp and guitar
Been playing guitar for 11 years bands, jams, live, studio etc. I broke probably 2 strings across 30ish guitars with daddario. And the ones I didn't change sounded and felt, great fresh and new until I decided to change them to clean the frets.
The contour knob may adjust the voicing or character of the distortion or overdrive effect. It could affect the shape of the waveform, the clipping characteristics, or other parameters related to the saturation of the signal.

Throw a vibe in there too and I agree with you bro.
For sure. For blues you don’t need much. Loud fender amp.
That's all I use too. An LP through a Fender amp, drive, wah and delay. That's all you need.
Boomer mentality.
This kid’s a treasure! So talented, gentle and charismatic! I truly hope he takes good care of his health.
Since he mentioned Marcus King... I'm dying for the day Kingfish tours with Marcus King and Samantha Fish for the King/Fish/Kingfish tour.
What a great 🎉🙌🕺
lol!
Thank you for your service 🙏
One of my favorite modern guitarists! Always so humble and an absolutely insane player!

I love these videos. The host is so polite and genuinely enthusiastic. Highlighting some absolutely fantastic acts every time.
Great playing - very down to earth young guy who has decades of success ahead of him. Long live the King Tone 👍
He’s got like three weeks before his first heart attack. Decades is a little optimistic
This kid is just the best; as a player and person. I was lucky enough to run into him at Crossroad in September. He was incredibly nice and humble, and I got a picture with him.

Kingfish is a terrific guitarist. Great choice, PG
Kingfish you're an inspiration man.. Well done.. Never stop playing guitar.. 😊
I own his signature guitar and it is so cool! So happy to have a guitar from one of my favorite players! Love this dude
Do you mean LP one? If it's indeed LP one, then what scale length it has -- 24.75" or more?
Listening to him play and the excitement when he talks just puts a smile on my face.
Ernie Isley! Now there is a guy who genuinely doesn't get called out for how great he was! 😎
Ernie is still alive!
Nice interview, John. Your rapport skills are on full display here.
'I don't know what "Contour" means, so i don't use it.' - That's gold. *_GOLD!_*
This is the first time I've heard someone drop Chico Banks name. My buddy and I dropped into a random blues bar in Chicago and Chico was playing. Sounded incredible! R.I.P.
I’ve seen Kingfish several times on the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise. Amazing talent. John is the “King” of rig rundowns!
