Rob is one of the best hosts I've ever seen.
How come no one applauded for Buddy Hackett and Louis Nye? :(

Some people probably try to remember who they were I know they are.. or maybe there are few who are under 50 and don't remember them at all.

Maybe because, while well known celebrities, they weren't often identified with the western genre?

Dear Rob: thank you for celebrating the US’s knights, the COWBOYS. Some were good & some were bad, but they gave the West a History never to be forgotten.
Some, I don’t recognize; we didn’t go to movies a great deal, but if it was on TV & was clean & good, we’d prob be watching.
The last (kind of/sort of) in splinter of a Western was Billy Jack & I needed parental accompaniment to see it. Dad grew up in a time when men didn’t use foul language around women, nor did women use it, at all!
Oh, my word, it was bad when a man spoke that way, but when a teenage girl spoke that way, my Dad, almost 6’4”, a former WWII, U.S. Marine who fought on Iwo Jima, got up & walked out. Mom stayed, so he didn’t leave. It was inconceivable that a woman should demean herself in such a way. I really miss men who treasure & honor women in such a simple way. I like to see it on the screen & old Westerns are full of it.
God bless the heroes of them past. Real & imagined, they gave us role models & heroes to look up to.

Thank you for sharing, Jennifer. Sounds like your Dad would have liked Ben Johnson, who refused to appear in THE LAST PICTURE SHOW until they removed the foul language from his dialogue.

These movies would not be great if we did not these wonderful people to tell the rest of the stories.
