    Selling older GPU's and getting into more efficient ones at this moments is a smart play at this time. That's if you can get them.

    I'm in the same boat. Currently running 48 x 1070ti's. I've hit my ROI, so they are all profit right now. Hard to make the decision to sell when 1) new GPU's are just about impossible to find, and 2) GPU's prices are doubled, sometimes tripled. With that said, ETHEREUM EIP-1559 is going to be implemented, which is not good for miners. Plus ETHEREUM will eventually become 100% PoS. So another option is to sell all my hardware and just buy ETHEREUM.

  • @rspeers1

    I totally hear you on the 1070. I have a bunch still but with increase in mining profits the 1070 are making as much or more than when I bought them in 2017. I'd rather be mining than over paying for new gear.

    Discovered and started enjoying your videos when doing 3060 Ti research :) I agree on many points, same here - it was a time of consolidating old stuff / inventory / rebuilding, getting some additions (if possible) and selling what's not worth it anymore (but still ROIed long ago) - cheers man!

    I think it makes sense to sell gpus after mining for 3-4 years because you can get all your money back in this market on a used gpu that could fail soon since it’s been used for so long already but I would try to quickly take that money from the sale and buy newer gpus at msrp (very difficult but possible)

  • @Nelwyn
    @Nelwyn 3 года назад

    You could make the 1070 Ti more efficient. I'm running one in my gaming rig and it can do about 29MH at around 100w. Still not that great, but you could save a bit on power there. Something to do in the meantime until you can replace them with some newer cards. I'm kinda doing that with a 3090 I was lucky to get from Best Buy. It's fast, but for $1500 it will take longer to ROI than anything else I want. Just keeping it for now until some 3060 or 3080s come my way.

  • @AlteredComponent
    @AlteredComponent 3 года назад

    Yeah man. Taking down the rx 570/580 rig was a hassle. Had to take the tig down to a single gpu and flash them all back to stock bios 1 at a time. Then blew them out good, cleaned them, shined them, photo shoot, listed etc. Time consuming. Oh and I researched frames a week ago. U can't get a good price on a frame now. Frames are like 80 bucks for a cheapo. I searched

    My Asus Cerberus 1070 Ti is making 32MHs with just 110Watts. I would not buy new cards cause they're way too overpriced and if profitability is going to stay like this the whole year there's no chance that they're going to get cheaper so I'll just stick to my old GPUs.

  • @witness1013

    The smartest move would be to sell cards - and then buying mining power from MHR or NH when ETH dips - since it has much more chance of 5x-ing than BTC does. This would give you immediate positions instead of waiting months to mine the same amount when the value may not be as high.

    • @RedFoxCrypto

    You are thinking very wrong. The prices now for these older cards are high, because the new cards are out of stock, you either sell now and make profit and wait out to buy the new one's or sell them cheap in 3-4 months and buy also new ones. You cant have the best of both words. The people buying aren't idiots, they want hashrate and efficiency ,preferably new cards

    • @RedFoxCrypto

      Thanks for the comment. I’m parting out 4 already since I was able to get 2 3060 Tis. In reality that’s the hash power of 4 1070 Tis right there which I wasn’t thinking of. 1 more 3060 Ti to go and I’ll clear that whole old rig. You are right. It’s a risk trying to hold onto old until you can replace them. Happy mining brother!

    I am seriously trying to get into mining but I can't buy at this point. With these prices my roii would be 15+months assuming ETH stays at the current profitability. It's not realistic to me. I'm curious to see what other new and old miners think.

      Only thing I would be buying are the RTX 3000 series at their actual prices. Those cards will retain value the longest and remain more profitable when the market turns. Buying anything at the crazy inflated used prices is really risky.
