I know it can be fun but it's also very dangerous at this velocity there is no time for reaction if something like a bird, a piece of debris or anything in the water strikes the boat or even worse the pilot, it will be certain death.
I didn't even know a boat could travel that fast
I thought land speed was awesome... this totally blows it out of the water. What I'd give to ride in that boat at 180. What is the fuel consumption at 7000 rpm and 180? What kind of control system is in place to keep from taking off like a plane?
What is the practical use for this boat? Not enough fuel to cross the Atlantic, so maybe going from Florida to the Caribbean at a causal 100mph?
It's a crazy to think how hard water is at that speed. Instant death!
Real...a helmet wouldn't do anything if he hit that water..he'd disintegrate. Man's crazy haha
darwin award nominee
What they didn’t show you on the shot is there’s a guy getting pulled on a tube behind the boat 🚤
Barefoot water skiing! 😁
I've worked more that 30 years in and around marina's and had a friend that just kept pushing things to the limit. God bless his soul and RIP.
Damn things fast as hell. Wonder how many literal gallons per mile its using?
I use to roll 180 on my gsxr 1000 alot and loved it! I couldn't imagine doing it on a boat! I can't believe this dude doesn't even have a helmet on. Hitting the water going that fast would be like hitting concrete.
A helmet wont do any good on water at 180 mph
you have obviously never ridden in a skeeter bass boat, now thats fast, this guy is just cruising on a weekend afternoon and not even drinking beer. whats the point really
@@pt5878 🤣🤣 Imagine a skeeter bass boat doing 180? That would be nuts, you'd definitely one up the competition at a fishing tournament haha
He passed that threshold about 140mph ago 🤣🤣🤣
What is amazing about this is the fact his hat didn't blow off!
How does he keep the cap on, maybe its stabled to his head
OHH that looks scary as hell ! Where can I sign up ? I would love that so much , fastest I ever averaged in a domestic car was 120 MPH sustained , and at that speed I actually get surprisingly relaxed and precise , but then again I can thread a needle almost with my eyes closed . Problem with high speeds is if anything breaks on the vehicle it will end very badly .
Are there some sort of dynamics that is keeping this boat from flying up into the air?
Sick stuff :)
These numbers you tap everyday on a liter bike. On a boat its a different world.
Exactly my thoughts. And 180 on my 1k is moving. This guy is in a damn boat. Sheesh
@@motortoys9942 yes brother.
It would be awesome to see a side shot by helicopter of this 180 MPH run......if it could keep up!
Ya said it! So true. Most choppers can't keep up.
Well, there are planes..
A Eurocopter would fit the bill, with its 267 mph top speed😎
Was thinking the same, would love to see a flyby, searching comments for the full boat name so I can search the rest of RUclips for exactly that
This could outrun coast guard chopper with a load of weed coming back from Jamaica mon
I don’t know how the boat stays buoyant while carrying this dudes balls
Best way to burn money by the second.
is it nautical miles or land miles? Both results are impressive for a boat
He’s faster than your car. On WATER.
What a legend.
No...my Corvette is faster so is my CBR.
@@JaguarPriestalways one guy who’s got to make it a dk measuring contest.
@@TheOfficialRandomGuy not about that. It's about he shouldn't speak for everyone
@@JaguarPriest to the average person it is faster. you only replied to feed your ego.
@@TheOfficialRandomGuy no...maybe you're just below average. Go get some balls and a superbike.
23 knots yesterday in a glass flat Solent, gentle drizzle, 9°C, Overcast. Merry Fisher 795 - engine horsepower unknown, it had one of those fabric covers on.
Livin’ the dream. Baseball cap stayed on too
180 with no roof is crazy in a car let alone a freaking boat. I wonder how much race gas it sucked down in that one run.
I think they burn 80 gallons an hour.
A+ to whoever did the flow dynamics on the windscreen. Ballcap staying put is magic.
The vibration is minimal, the air stream lining excellent, and the stability of the craft prove that aeronautical engineering was involved in its design. I’m surprised he isn’t strapped in with a 5-point harness.
At these speeds the boat acts more like a plane than a boat. These boats are fastest right before they blow over.
Would have been good to have an aerial view of this at the time.
I did 50 mph in the wal mart parking lot once. Ya, that was me.
City people think 50 is fast lol that’s our normal speed limit in the burbs and cops lets us go ten over all day
Imagine the fish that have been chopped up no time to get out of the way.
Fish are not a problem but a manatee or dead head would be catastrophic.
A low flying seagull might ruin your day.
Why do this remind me of every boat race/chase scene in Miami Vice.....Crockett and Tubbs fan 4 ever.
This is some badass footage. Stay safe.
Thats mad fast, what you running from or what you got in that boat?
Anything past 50 mph on the water is a death wish.
Just stay out of the left lane please.
I’ve been 201 on I95. I can’t imagine almost going as fast in a damn boat! And here I thought I was crazy!
Maybe you're still right.
@@theelectricunicyclist9069 yeah it was pretty crazy. When I passed a lone car in the slow lane by the time I looked in my rear view mirror at that speed I almost couldn’t see his headlights anymore lol. I saw dips in the road coming up and slowed down but still hit the first humps at 180. Luckily I was in a Z06 so the car was stable. The only other time I’ve been that fast I did a 189 racing a lambo in my CTSV. The reason I know the exact speeds is because both cars had heads up display.
That would be so incredible to see that boat come apart at 180Mph
So how many Gallons of fuel was used in that 1 min clip 😁 Alcohol, or Aviation gas?
And that's how cocaine is still getting into Miami...
Not sure what’s more impressive, how smooth and fast that ride was, or watching a guy spend $18,000 in fuel during this video clip.
"Hi Honey, it's me. I'll be home in a second."
Congratulations.. my heart was pounding in your place.. stay safe and don't count your blessings.
Been 154 on the road in my Olds 442 back in the day.
Dang....180..beautiful man..just great.
This is sick.. I don't know if risk/reward ratio is worth it.. But I like it..
Wonder how much hp this monster has ? and what is the fuel consumption at this speed??
Man, 60mph on my seadoo feels like warp speed. Couldn't imagine what this is like.
I wonder if it is possible to cross over to North west Africa (Morocco region) from East coast usa in this boat and how many time would you need to refill the tank on the way ?
Great video. That boat runs fantastic.
How's the fuel mileage on this rig?
Wait a second. This is THE Yves Belanger. The same man behind that legendary powerboat video from the 80s. This guy is STILL at it. Holy jesus what a legend.
