Namibia, Africa. I couldn't think of a better country or continent to be in for medical care when I experience a high speed traumatic windsurfing accident.
In USA is cheaper be dead that sick without an insurance. For example: If you have an illness in one eye, you will need to leave the good one in "deposit" or guarantee if you don't have insurance!
You a girl… grow some balls…oh, lemme guess, you not from Africa…. Home to The Rugby World Cup Champions….. God is Good and His Mercy Endures Forever….🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍😍😍😍
It's awesome to watch skilled riders do their thing! It's truly amazing and total respect to mother nature that at any moment she can just say you're done for the day.
That was freaking amazing. Props to those guys - anytime you fall and your arms get flung away from your body uncontrollably, or you bounce and skip off the water, you’re going pretty stinking quickly! I hope nobody got hurt too badly!
I raced for 2 years professionally before I had an accident. I’ve never felt that kind of freedom and peace anywhere else in life. I can only imagine what it’s like for these guys. I’m sure going around that corner and making it down the channel just felt “right”.
Because they are adrenaline junkies and it doesn’t look cool to wear a helmet, especially on camera when millions of people will see them, people might think they are weak. Really, that’s how these guys roll.
Nice run !!! I am not sure why it is rated so dangerous, or, is it shallow so a wipe0out makes the surfer get creamed. The speeds are barely waterskiing speeds, so it shouldn't be that bad, I guess, unless it's really shallow. Good video !!! I have had waterskiing type wipeouts as high as around 100 mph (150 Km) and unless you go under, such as hit a wave or swell that takes you under, it not a big deal. If you go under, it needs to be deep because you will go far under and it is a long way back to the surface.
Amazing footage some day adventure athletes will wake up and realize that you don't have to use dramatic and terrible techno as a soundtrack..no dubstep..shit you don't have to use music at all most of times.
You captured some great wipe-outs. Nothing like blowing out at 40+kts and shredding all your gear. Mind you, most of these guys are self-sponsored, so that can cost you some hard-earned bucks!
I wonder how well those wind surfing boards with the hydrofoil underneath would do? Without the boards actually riding on top of the waves, it would much smoother, I'll wager.
I think even foils have limits. Drag is drag. But can you imagine losing it while riding an extra two feet above the water? You’d skip off the water like riverstone and slam into the sand in one bounce. Hooked in, you’d be sliced in half by your foil. Unhooked, you’d break your neck.
I reached 40kts more or less by accident ~35 years ago and that was crazy fast in 40cm 'deep' water. But these guys are up to 50kts or even a little over it, these are insane speeds, and if you miss a gust it's going to get really bad really fast. Not all guys are able to get up after such katapults… Kudos to all of them, I really would love it to be there to make one successful run…
I am amazed that they were not wearing any head protection! I believe it is a personal choice but wow with those speeds and crashes I would have thought it a given! Props to those huge balls of steel!
Drone footage of the week right there ;) Great stuff
That run was glorious!! Poetry !! Very gifted sailor !!

That drone is a champ for still flying in those winds
I agree drone FPV pilot simply the best
Awesome footage, thank you!
I’ve sailed for 30yrs and have never seen anything quite like this. Insane speed! Foiling surfer next?! 😂
Dude, we’d never in a sail boat, lol.
@@72marshflower15 nope! Looks fun though!
I always respect a guy who can downhaul a sail with their bare hands.
🤣👍⚓
Used to sail a spot like this. Super windy, no fetch and real shallow. Know the feeling real well of getting poleaxed like that.

That was a sweet ride right there. The helmet is a must though.

If someone wrote a saga about this, it would fit the classical definition of 'epic' perfectly. Heroes. Implacable forces of nature. It's got it all.
Very cool vid. Nice work.
Wowwee it's like they have a powerful jet. Winds must be really high in that area
Yes, the most fastest and the dangerousest channel...

Yeah why are they not wearing helmets? I non-toxically wonder.
Because of the bigger size of your head there a bigger chance of a whiplash
Because they can.

No kiters ?
So 50 kts is 57.5 mph if google is right.
I'd say, MotoGP leathers and a helmet would be the more appropriate attire for this bit of sports activity...
