I wouldn’t have caught that…. So thanks…. Now, Booo! Ya spoiled the mystery with no warning. Or did I spoil it by reading comments before end? It’s a big mystery!
I do like these Sherlock Holmes episodes from the 50s. It only lasted for one season, but the earlier episodes are pretty good. The mystery in this one isn't so much, but the interaction of the cast and supporting characters are good, especially with Eugene Deckers and his over-the-top performance.
Different times and settings, wouldn't work: Those days women killed their husbands - early post colonial Then in the 80s, hired men to do the work 90s, with rising divorces - poor men were on the run - to escape alimony and amongst the wealthy, pre-nuptial agreement; (flourishing business for lawyers) 2000, fewer men married (mainly working class) Now they get married late in life - to some paid caretaker- saves expenses. Can't see the future except for on-line dating which was once flourishing has changed business model to forums --- I know, it reads like a rant but times have so thoroughly changed that one cannot get a Mrs. Hudson with the apartment - was possible even here in India till the 80s.
Oh no! It's Eugene Deckers in yet another role in these wonderful old films. I am amazed that Holmes never recognised him from episode to episode.
Used to watch these episodes on TV in '80s. Always looked forward to them.
3:30, "...I don't like wearing other chaps hat; it's a personal thing, like a toothbrush!" Hahahahahaha!
When Nathalie got out of jail, she changed it to Natalie Schafer and moved to Gilligan's Island then using the name Lovey Howell.

I would love to see modern adaptions of these episodes and see what my mystery loving friends would think of them compared to the more modern ones?
