Edit to specify: Yes, for most applications it would be more practical to use a tileable design. Really the only advantage of the quad cell is that you can get more into a single space. If you want the most efficiency and don't care about space requirements or only need like 4 beehives, then the compact one would be only SLIGHT the better option

If you are going for compactness I nothing can beat ianxofour design. It's the same 4 hives per 9x9 but it's also tileable. You probably already know about his design, but I'm just wondering about the cons of your design. Is that lag efficiency?

I don't really watch others' redstone or farm videos. I prefer to experiment with the mechanics on my own. I will, on occasion, do some research and watch a few videos if I'm ever stuck on a problem

Maybe have a play with a vertical loop piston feed tape pushing hives past a single collection point. I made one with 11 hives driven by a ring of observers outside the pistons. Used a dustless Etho clock with 5 items(L,I,K,E,? Banners).

Plently of people would be jealous of Bedrock for being able to push tile entities xD I at least have a mod that lets me do it too. Might try my hand at it since you've reminded me I could do it too!

Would it not be much more practical to build a tile able honey farm?
In your design, I think you can replace the dust with a solid block that gets hard powered with a dust on top, then just have a single observer looking into the dust and triggering the dispenser.

If it's what I think you're talking about, I'm just using a solid block to directly power the dispenser. No need for an observer when you can get away with a regular block.

@@TheRealYeller that wouldn't work because you are detecting the signal strength going from 4 to 5

oh you mean that one. I dont consider that MY design so I was a bit confused LOL. I don't see any issue why it wouldn't work with your suggestion.
