To be fair Lebron does have a lot of fans, I personally think it’s the constant media coverage, the unprecedented move to Miami, given we never saw 3 prime players in the 26-28 age range on one time that were all top 15 players at that respective time, it seemed like he stacked the deck really in his favor. Seeing him lose kinda humbled him but in a lot of people’s eyes took him out of the Kobe, Jordan, aura of greatness considered he really shit the bed when he was the overwhelming favorite. Lastly the 3-1 comeback is legendary in and of itself, despite this, it’s truly Lebron’s crowning achievement but when looking objectively how does winning 3 rings make you the goat in 2016? Comments like that anger the older and some younger fan bases like myself that actually have respect for the history of the game etc.
We can all say Bron can have that confidence and we all Know Jordan believes he’s the best deep down, the difference is how Bron comes off like it’s so matter of fact, that he’s the best etc etc. Jordan has never come out even doing anything remotely close. But Jordan is hyper aware of the legend he created for himself.

You see that video of him thanking god after lebron hit the game winner? His production completely disappeared in the playoffs.
Larry hughes known as a low percentage chucker on the offensive end. You’d know this if you weren’t just relying on digging up stats.
Antawn Jamison wasn’t quite as bad as mo, but he was another one of those guys who was at the very tail end of their prime by the time he got to the cavs. He was 33 years old. Back then, players retire even earlier than they do now, by 34 most decent players are out of the league. He was still decent but he was an undersized pf that relied on midrange shooting, these were called “tweeners” back then and weren’t effective. Theres a reason the Cavs liked JJ Hickson more, he was more effective roll guy, defender and rebounder.
You can try to list these role-players, or past their prime players, but the fact remains that the Cavs got two 60+ win seasons back-to-back, then immediately fell to league worst after Lebron left. That’ll tell you enough.

As a point guard, then Phil came in, brought the triangle, put him back at shooting guard and the rest is...

The GOAT discussion for the majority of people, especially outside the US, ended when Dirk's Mavs beat LeBron's star-studded team. No matter what LeBron does will not put him over MJ. MJ is the prime example of what excellence is.
Anyone who wants to be a great basketball player should do it the MJ way. Work harder than anyone both in the gym and on the court. Do not short-change your fans and your team, and give 100% on the floor on both offense and defense.
Be an example to your teammates to move them to be the best version of themselves... Kobe learned that from MJ, and we can see Kobe being that to the Redeem Team in the docu that barely featured by media... Kobe changed how the team was, by being an example.
MJ was hard on his teammates, but he was harder on himself, and that was his drive to win.
You can not speak like this of LeBron... you can't cite him as an example since often he slouched on defense and many times he just gave up on the team and on the game.
Btw, if a 3peat is easy... LeBron even when backed by future HoFs... has never ever did it. And MJ did it twice. The GOAT must be bigger than the sport like Ali to boxing... and no matter what LeBron does ... he won't be bigger than the sport. For basketball... there's only one name that's fits the bill... and that's MJ.

You're on point - he tries too hard. When you feel the need of reminding everyone about your greatness all the time, it usually means you're not so great after all. Look at Jordan, he doesn't have to say a word. Being the GOAT is not only about stats and awards, but also the legend you create. To me, LBJ had just too many misses along the way - collapse in the Finals vs Dallas, assemblnig a super team in the offseason insted of staying in Cleveland, stepping out of his role and acting as de facto GM (and refusing to take accountability for it) and being a poser when it comes to his alleged values. Now he's even trying to get his kid to the NBA by saying that he will go to the team that drafts Bronny. Jordan was awesome, beacause he didn't compare himself to anyone, he was just focused on being the best player he could be and winning,. Can you imagine Jordan or Bird pretending to be an avid reader to look smart or going to a game with a freakin' wine cooler? Pathetic. LeBron is a great player, easily TOP 3 all time, but sorry - not a GOAT.

Yes, Jordan was drafted into an absolute shitshow but at least he had a competent front office to build around him. Meanwhile LeBron has owners saying no to prime Amare Stoudemire because they wanted to hold on to JJ freaking Hickson. As a Chinese fan on the other side of the sea, I would like to answer that LeBron is more and more criticized by the Internet public opinion. Because he is insatiable and sacrifices the team's interests for the sake of recording data. Digging deep into his career, countless details are enough to show the damage he has caused to the team: huge luxury taxes, players leaving the team, players carrying the blame, LeBron's lack of active defense but leading the fast attack, and so on. Moreover, from outside the field, LeBron did not showcase his personality as a superstar to the fans, Intelligent injury rotation, countless times deviating from one's promises. After kneeling on the Celtics field and the free throws skyrocketed, all teams suffered and still failed to win the championship. And his boasting and obsession with data have long been undisguised. All sorts of things have shown that he cannot replace MJ as a goat.

A.) LeBron isnt close to as good or as dominant as MJ B.) LeBron has ALWAYS been a bit of a choker.C.) LeBron has media people/specialist who spend all day threatening anyone in the media who criticizes him so as a result people make INSANE excuses for his multiple OBVIOUS faults, In short no one likes being gaslit and told someone is the greatest repeatedly when ALL THE STATS NUMBERS ACCOMPLISHMENTS and our eyes tell us differently and lastly LeBron does EVERYTHING to stack the deck in his favor and either him OR his media people, spend all day giving LeBron credit for.his teammates greatness while also giving his teammates ALL the blame for LEBRON'S mistakes which is pretty sad and pathetic that they assume people are easily manipulative and even worse is that apparently they were right... basically LeBron has spent more time getting people to CALL HIM the greatest than actually being the greatest and as a result Lebron wasn't even a top five player and really outside of maybe two seasons wasn't even the best player in basketball in his time...Steph has more rings and has made more of an impact because unlike Lebron's Steph has been all about letting his play speak for him and his team and letting his performance shine instead of stat chasing which Steph could do if he wanted and could stay healthy and has put up prime James Harden numbers in stretches BUT in the service of winning and not just to.make a case to pretend like hes the greatest ever, which LeBron has been doin since 18... he's a great player who you could easily argue is in the top ten of all time but the toxicity perpetuated by his media people and embraced by his insane fans has been bad for basketball and the game generally with other people now following suit by flopping, stat chasing, and trying to group up to steal a ring...Id say LeBron:s legacy for the game is generally a bad one, outside of some of his performances, that to be fair haven't been as iconic or as plentiful namely as Nike would try and convince us unfortunately, but positive for the players and for any athletes trying to become moguls and making the most money possible

Ngl I was one of the biggest hater when he moved to Miami, celebrated when they lose to the Mavs & Spurs but for some reason I kinda rock with him when he returned to Cleveland and atleast bring in a chip, that alone makes it special than other superstars chips. I mean winning a Championship for a city where he came from, most superstars win on other cities (not that its their fault) all Im saying it adds an extra amount of sweetness winnimg for your city.
The one thing I wish is that he should go back to the 2018 shooting form cause that IMO was the best in his entire career, he changes his form & freethrows almost every year.
My problem with him now in LA is I think he's not playing as motivated like be used to, sure he is putting up the usual numbers. I think he's more motivated in shooting commercials now & stuff 😅
And sht AD should be in his prime but oh well he is just out most of the time. This could be ADs team and LeBron eventually stepping back bit by bit but oh well seems like it has to be him I guess. I just hope he could atleast get another playoff run before hanging it up.
And one thing im ASKING, why the hell did they decided to break up the roster that won the chip? They already had so much chemistry they could of win the next seasons chip too IMO, even if it was againts Giannis. I just dont understand why they break it up.

    • @Therealcelo
      @Therealcelo Год назад +1

You probably need to go and check that roster, that team needed to be broken up immediately, I mean seriously listen to yourself 😂 but here we go, Avery Bradley is out of the league, so is Dudley, Howard, and Rondo. Javale is on his last legs, J.R and Dion are out of the league, Danny Green is done, and that’s about it, yeah they should’ve held on to Caruso and probably shouldn’t have moved Kuzma, but let’s not act like the Lakers had a superteam, that team was not great

I agree I'll say I think that his Cleveland ring legitimized his 2 rings in Miami because he was suppose to win there, some even suggest he came up short in Miami I agree. I think if Durant didn't bitch out and move to the warriors (an even cheaper way to win his rings than Bron going to Miami at least LeBron was part of the foundation on that team Durant went to a team that was already the favorite to win) LeBron has a chance for more than one in Cleveland bit once KD was a warrior it was over for Cleveland. Those championships KD won can never be legitimized since the warriors have won before and after KD and he cam barely make the fucking playoffs lol
