thats what i learned on as a kid, i really didnt like the long ones because i could never stand on them without falling, that being said, im thinking of getting back into surfing and i dont know what to get
Yeah but you gotta remember that it’s all relative. A 6,2 as a kid is more like an 8 as an adult. As a kid it makes sense, at least in my mind, to start with a shorty.
Uh no, a bigger board is more prone to nosedives compared to short boards and you can’t ride down the face of an unbroken 5ft+ wave safely or 100%properly with a longboard, especially ones over 8ft long
if it’s a really low quality foamy, yeah they can be unbalanced, but 99.9% of the time it’s gonna be user error. You need to either change your pop up, change where you’re laying on your board, catch the wave sooner, or angle your takeoff. Or just get a Mid length instead of a short board until you understand how to generate speed by pumping
@@dawgwithavlog13get a foamie to start bro, you’ll quickly decide if it’s something worth investing further in to or just keep to the side as a fun activity every so often. Foamies are also simply better at getting those first few waves caught and learning to stand. So you can’t lose with one as a total beginner.
I’ve been learning for the past month on a 7 foot foamie. If your somewhat coordinated it’s not bad and could only take a few hours to be able to catch waves and control the board

Coooooooool!!!!!!
is a 6 0 softtop good?
Too short, would reccomend buying a softy longboard to surf a point break if you got one near you. Anything 8-10ft, I would go 9ft 🤙
