It's a "why did the chicken cross the road?" joke, but it really highlights Bo's own relationship to comedy. The very thing he loves doing the most and is most talented at, the dream we assume he had as a youth doing the standup gigs, also has the greatest capacity to hurt him.
I love watching reactions to this song because in the beginning, everyone's just vibing, but when the line "there's just one thing. The chicken must first cross the road" comes up, there's a smile or acknowledgement of "oh, this is about why the chicken crossed the road joke" but this definitely put a whole different spin on it.
My personal take was “that’s why she did it” as in: That’s why the chicken crossed the road. The joke is always whatever reason the joke-teller provides, but this is Bo’s reason. “That’s why she did it.”
Other than references to some childhood chicken stories, I don't think this song is about animals at all. Stop being a chicken and brave that road to get your dreams folks!
I like the part where they don't have any transformative content for the first 4:25 then their commentary at the end was "this is what happened in the song.".... I'm lying please if you do react content take this constructive criticism and react more, build on what is being sung about, and pull from your own life experiences to add meaning to the video. Not to say the video isn't impactful itself, but your reactions should ADD to the experience rather than just be cut and dry.
Probably not going to watch this channel again frankly. I love reaction videos. Huge fan of Bo's. That's why it came up in my algorithm. I put up with the flashing lights, the beeping discord & weird volume issues to watch people react like bumps on a log. I hardly expect everyone to be animated or exaggerated but come on. You have to contribute something of your own while exploiting someone else's work. Not everyone with an internet connection can do it successfully. Good luck to you, though. I hope you take some of the constructive criticism in the various comments to heart.
Maybe consider pausing periodically to talk about what you're thinking/feeling while listening. Doing it all at the end makes the reaction very shallow. For this video as an example, you guys added nothing to the original content, which makes it less appealing than many other reaction channels. And then after a VERY brief conversation the video ended abruptly. Honestly it seems like you didn't really analyze the song's content at all.
