  • Digital books and documents are the norm for reading these days. Electronic reading resources are used for all types of reading - but, what about school and research - is it better to use a Kindle, Kindle software, or iBooks?
In this video, I will cover the specialized requirements for academic reading/research with note-taking and citations. I'll demonstrate using a Kindle Oasis, Kindle software (on an iPad), and iBooks (on an iPad)

    About…me.
Hello there - I'm glad you've taken the time to look at my videos and this description box!
My name is Frank and I've been teaching post-graduate programs in technical subjects for almost 25 years. My Master's Degree is in Learning and Technology (from Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC - where they filmed the X-Men movies!).
I'm a Microsoft Certified Trainer (since 1998), a Cisco Certified Academy Instructor (since 1999), and have a lot of different technical certifications (I even had my own consultancy and was a member of the Apple Consultants Network for a few years. I like technology a lot.
I've been fascinated with learning and how to improve learning for years. Especially how to leverage technology for learning. From productivity Applications like Teams, OneNote, Excel, and the entire Microsoft Office suite to tools such as Mindmapping, Metaverse, VR, AR, and more - I like to see how we can use tools to leverage our ability to teach and learn.
Learning and Technology RUclips is about helping students and teachers improve their learning by leveraging technology tools. Whether remote teaching, distance learning, hybrid teaching, or completely in the classroom - we can use technology to enhance our skills. This channel is dedicated to developing teaching and personal productivity when it comes to learning and technology. Thank you for watching!

Great stuff! I never thought of using iBooks for everything. I usually use PDF expert for PDFs, but iBooks is certainly less cluttered. Kindle I use strictly for novels as it is difficult to use for research purposes.

Eye-opener! Thanks! I've been a Kindle user for academic work for far too long, with tedious workaround. Cheers!

Thanks for asking - one day I hope the channel grows enough to support outside help. I’m thinking sometime about 200,000 or more subscribers - at this point, I’m still quite a small channel.

@@LearningandTechnology I could help edit your thumbnails and come up with titles for now.
If you are willing, I could send some edited sample thumbnails of some of your videos.

@@sateditz4863 Thanks again - as soon as my channel gets a little larger - hopefully soon! Based on my experiences, I’m thinking that a channel needs to be at least 100K subs to start getting extra help.

I’m not a big fan of it. There are a lot of note taking Apps though. The key os to find one that you like and works for you.
